TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 15TH JUNE 2024)
“Say to God, “How awesome are your works! Through the greatness of your power your enemies shall submit themselves to you. All the earth shall worship you and sing praises to you; they shall sing praises to your name.” Psalms 66:3-4 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 166TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.
We thank God for giving us life, peace, and health. We thank Him for giving us another day and showing us mercies to be counted among the living. He remains our portion in the land of the living.
He is the light of our lives and refuge of our souls. He created us for His pleasure. We exist just for that. We did not make ourselves, He made it. That is why are confident that he will continue to keep us even in trouble times.
This morning we want to look at matters of supernatural power.
The God who created us is omnipotent; meaning He is always powerful. He does not diminish in power. When He speak, His words do not fall to the ground because they do not have capacity to fail.
That tells us something about our eternal lineage.
Our eternal lineage is supernatural in nature; full of power. We are not called to expect less. That is why this morning we will be looking at how intimacy with God can help us live our days walking in God’s power.
The greatest curse on the human race is a life without the supernatural power of God. There is financial power, political power, will power, success power, and all other kinds of secondary powers, but there is no power of God.
When God created man and placed him in the Garden of Eden, He did not give him political power to survive. He gave man HIS own Supernatural power called “dominion” to survive.
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE LOOK AT THAT AGAIN THIS MORNING.
God’s supernatural power was man’s instrument of survival on earth. That was what Adam used to subdue every other created thing on the face of the earth as God had commanded. That was his instrument of not just survival but ruler ship as God’s regent on earth.
All animals and created things obeyed him because he spoke in power. Without that power he would not have been able to name the animals. But after the fall, he lost everything.
Life became chaotic because mankind was unplugged from his God given supernatural power. God’s Power is therefore the most essential blessing for living on the face of the earth.
Without the power of God in your life, curses will either rest on you, thrive in your destiny, or feed on your life.
Without the power of God in your life, sicknesses and diseases will hold sway in your life. Without the power of God in your life, devils will turn your kids, business, ministry or whatever carries your name into a playground of afflictions.
The greatest hindrance to the success of many on the face of the earth is an absence of God’s supernatural power.
A major highlight in our devotional text today said,
“How awesome are your works! Through the greatness of your power your enemies shall submit themselves to you.”
Enemies do not submit through the greatness of our boasting, anger, hatred, or ill feelings against them. That is why Jesus said love your enemies. Pray for those who hate and despitefully use you. Enemies submit through the greatness of the power of God in our lives.
If the hate for our enemies make them submit, or destroy them, there would have been no enemy in anyone’s life.
Friend, if you catch the revelation of what God is saying this morning, you will choose to die than to live a Christian life without the greatness of God’s power flowing through you.
IT IS BECAUSE OF THE GREATNESS OF GOD’S POWER AT WORK IN OUR LIVES THAT OUR ENEMIES SUBMIT TO US.
Without His power at work in our lives, life will be a misery. The Bible says;
“ Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 NKJV
If you look at this scripture, you will realize that even answer to our prayers depends on the power of God that is running through our lives. It says God is able to do exceedingly abundantly, not according to the power in His hands but the power in our hands.
That explains why some people’s prayers are not answered. They do not have the power of God at work in their lives to unleash answers to their prayers, especially personal prayers.
Some do not have the power to pray for the sick and they recover, hence tapping into other powers by using oil, water, or salt. Some preachers do not have the power to change people’s lives, hence asking them to sow seeds or raise altars.
The reason for all that is because they do not have the consecration, the intimacy with the LORD, and the faith for the power to be at work in their lives.
Some have what look like it, but do not really have it.
It may interest you to know that, the glory of GOD which is the source of GOD’s power is also where His Holiness flows from. You cannot therefore be powerful and sinful at the same time. It is not possible.
If you see a man or woman of God who is both sinful and powerful, you have seen someone who is either walking in the last ounce of God’s power on his life, or someone walking in the power of the evil one.
GOD’S POWER FLOWS THROUGH HIS FAITHFULNESS TO HIS WORD, OR OUR FAITHFULNESS TO HIM.
Even the life of Samson tells us that. As soon as he touched Delilah and got desecrated, the Spirit left him. You also see that in the life of the Sons of Eli. As soon as the developed the habit of sleeping with the women that came to worship GOD, and desecrating the offerings of the LORD, the glory departed. The power of GOD left the camp.
GOD’s glory will never flow through a scandalous ministry. His anointing could be there for a short time, because of the innocent ones, but His glory will never be there.
HE WILL WAIT UNTIL THEY REPENT. HE SAID TO ELI
“Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father’s house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.” 1 samuel 2:30-31 KJV
When a preacher begins to dishonor GOD by desecrated himself or herself with either sexual sins, bitterness, hate, unforgiveness, deception, stealing in the name of the LORD, or any other form of wickedness or abuse of authority, GOD will no longer honor him or her with His glory.
He will withdraw His glory from that preacher, living him with an anointing that will remain for a short while, then depart if he or she refuse to return to the LORD. That is the way things work in GOD’s kingdom!
Any supernatural power you see flowing through a preacher despite a life of persistent scandals is not from GOD. It is from the evil one. It is coming from the spirit of lawlessness, a child of the mystery of iniquity.
There is something Jesus said to the disciples that is important that we bring to our attention. He said to them when they returned with stories of the exploits they did in His name;
“Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20 NKJV
This scripture means, devils can be subjected to you without your name even written in the book of life. And that can happen when the power you are walking in is not from the glory of GOD through the womb of God’s Holiness, but from a demon of deliverance.
TO GET TO THE PLACE WHERE GOD’S POWER FLOWS THROUGH YOU, YOU MUST BECOME DEEP WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.
In simple terms, when you begin to fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and walk with Him intimately, you will begin to walk in God’s power. No one who wants to walk in God’s power should neglect friendship with the Holy Spirit. He or she must not trade Deep intimacy with GOD, for anything.
The Bible says,
“Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” Daniel 11:32 NKJV
The word “know” refers to intimate knowledge. People who are close to the LORD, will know Him intimately. People who know Him intimately, will experience the power of God flowing through their lives.
In the book of Acts, we see that when the apostles gave themselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word, they walked in the greatness of God’s power. They turned their world upside down and devils screamed wherever they went.
But today, the reverse is the case. We drink Oil, use salt, light up candles, use mats and prayer cloths to pray, and do all the sorcery things ignorant and perverted ministers of the gospel invented.
There is a replacement of the true power of God in many churches today.
But I can here a clarion call from the Throne Room of God to us here on earth; a clarion call to become deeply committed to GOD. Only those who are deep with Jesus Christ will be strengthened with the power that comes from God’s glory and do exploits.
If you will therefore, give yourself entirely to prayers and to the ministry of the word as the early church did, you will truly walk in the greatness of God’s power and see your enemies submit themselves to you.
That is the message of today’s devotional!!!
The word of the LORD remains the same. It says,
“Say to God, “How awesome are your works! Through the greatness of your power your enemies shall submit themselves to you. All the earth shall worship you and sing praises to you; they shall sing praises to your name.”
God wants you to be the power house of the greatness of His power on earth. He wants you and I to become the human instruments of His divine power on earth.
All that is required is that we make up our minds to pay the price. Yes, the price of dwelling in the secret place of the Most high, until we become His power houses on earth.

“Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” Luke 24:49 NKJV
And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:18-19 NKJV
