TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Tuesday 29th June 2021)
‘Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath,
that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:17-20 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 180TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS.
Bless the LORD oh my soul and forget not His benefits. Today is our marriage anniversary and because we have done a lot already to mark my 45th Birthday I felt we should just observe this day in quietness. The LORD has been so good to us and His mercies have been the fuel running our lives.
It is very important that His presence and mercy run a marital life. That is the only time a people can fulfill God’s prophetic purpose of bringing them together. We pray that His will be done more and more through our lives in Jesus precious name. Amen!
The LORD has given us another day! He has given us a brand new life. The purpose remains one, and that is to serve Him and do His blessed will. The purpose remains to fulfill our duty as mankind. The Bible presents fearing God and doing His commandment as the whole duty of man. It says;
“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 KJV
This scripture tells us what our life purposes is. If you say you do not know what your life purpose on earth or assignment is, begin with this one. Begin with what the Bible calls the whole duty of a man.
One thing I like about the Bible is its clarity. It gives answers to all questions. Yes, even to those who are asking the LORD to reveal their life purposes to them. Sadly, they ask those questions without spending time with the Bible to search for it.
You do not ask God to revealed your life purpose to you without bending the knee in prayer and the heart in Bible search looking for it. It is those who look for it that will find it, not those who just sit and ask for it.
Any human who has not made what the Bible calls “the whole duty of man” his or her life purpose is spending a very risky life on the face of the earth. Apart from the earth that may be made too hot for his soul as a consequence, eternal damnation will be inevitable when the person finally dies.
If we do not spend our God given days on earth fulfilling our GOD given assignment or duty on earth, we will end up becoming an eternal waste in the next life. There is the God given life purpose that brings us to the specifics of what we called prophetic destiny.
IT IS NOT GOD’S PLAN THAT ANY OF US BECOMES AN ETERNAL WASTE PRODUCT IN THE LAKE OF FIRE.
The lake of fire will function as an eternal refuse dump where the devil, his angels, the spirits of the Nephilim, the false prophets, the antichrist and all humans who did not spend their earthly days walking with our LORD and savior Jesus Christ, doing His blessed will and fulfilling the whole duty of man will be dumped.
Sadly, a lot of people are only important and powerful in this life; in the next life they will be treated like an eternal waste product. They are not eternally relevant. They are only earthly relevant or significant. It could be good to pursue earthly relevance but anyone who will not be important in the next life, will end up as a wasted soul in the lake of fire.
What will make us important in the next like is the salvation of our souls through faith in Jesus Christ and how much of God’s will is being done through us in this life. How much are we laying down our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to GOD.
Sadly, there are people who do not believe in hell. The enemy has blinded their minds not to see this eternal reality. But the still need to be told that as soon as they close their eyes in death, the reality will dawn on them. They need to be told that either they believe it or not, they will weep for being deceived and eternally regret believing the lies.
The Day of Judgment is coming! It’s important that we make the fear of God our greatest purpose in life because God will bring every work into Judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or bad. Our evil secrets will be judged.
The only evil secret that will not be judged is the one we have yielded to the LORD and His precious blood to cleanse or deal with through repentance.
To fulfill the God given duty of fearing God and keeping His commandments, we need a God given word every day. I hope we find one this morning in this devotional.
HUMANS ARE LIKE SHIPS ON THE SHORE OF AN OCEAN.
Yes, we can be likened individually to be ships anchoring at the shore of a large ocean full of tempest – the tempest of the perils of a fallen and sinful life. The Bible says all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. This shortage of God’s glory is the reason for our perils as mankind.
Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, we have all been driven far away from a life of peace and holiness by the perils of the fall, leading to the loss of many ships (lives) to the tempest of the perils of life.
This tempest includes the different diseases that have devoured and are still devouring many lives. The incurables that can only be managed until people die! Yes, it includes grinding poverty, the curses people bring upon themselves by further breaking the laws God set to make the lives of mankind beautiful, and a whole lot of things that we do; things that makes earthly life meaningless and painful.
When I look at what is happening among the youths, for example, I see many lives already lost to the tempest of moral decay.
I remember seeing a vision where youths were thrust into a very filthy pond by an invisible force of darkness. I saw so many buried in the filth of the pond and even drinking from it without realizing it. The LORD further made me to understand that that was the reason for the high level of moral decay, alcoholism, rebellion, and etc. among many youths.
Sex, rebellion and drugs have destroyed so many.
If you look at these youths and check if they were born within a family unit, you will find out that many were not. You will find out that most were raised in no family unit. Not even a mother around. They grew up in the wild of life and godless places getting their souls filled with unclean spirits.
WHOEVER GAVE BIRTH TO SOME OF THEM ALSO GREW UP IN A BROKEN GODLESS SYSTEM.
He or she could not control his or her sexual appetite, consequently getting involved in acts that GOD ordained that they be done in the righteous system of a holy matrimony. The women then became pregnant outside a family unit or Godly system, and ended up giving birth to innocent children who are now at the mercy of unclean spirits. Very sad!
God in His infinite wisdom arranged that lives be born within a proper family unit; a unit made up of a righteous father and a God fearing mother by a holy matrimony. The reason is simple; so that their faith and walk with Him will be a shield for the children. But we have broken everything and now have children who are even born to grow up on the streets like dogs.
Bringing forth Children without the structure of a proper family unit will always results in youths who are lost to the tempest of this ocean of life. Youths, who are lost to drugs, alcohol, sex, rebellion and a lot of other damnable things!
The ocean of life that we all are in is full of the tempest of sin, satanic activities, and all forms of godlessness and wickedness. If our anchors are not strong enough, we will be all blown away and be lost forever with no trace of us!
A lot of people have been blown away and lost forever in hell because of lack of anchor. Living in a world like ours will require an anchor that can keep us. That anchor is faith in Christ Jesus born out of Christ in us.
We must learn to bring our broken lives, battered youths, broken marriages, shattered hopes, and all that may have happened to us due to this tempestuous life to Jesus Christ, the one who created us. Only He can fix it. He said in Matthew 11:28
“come unto me all you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest”
YES, HE WILL GIVE US A PLACE IN HIM TO REST OUR SOULS SO THAT WE WILL NOT BE BLOWN AWAY.
Sadly, many have not responded. Some come to church but still have not responded to this invitation of the LORD. That is why they cannot find rest for their souls. Friend, you can in a Church and even be involved in ministry but have not truly come to the LORD.
Our real problem lies in not coming to Him. Coming to the LORD requires so much; it requires deep repentance. If we do not come in deep repentance like the prodigal son did, we will not find the LORD. We will not find Him because our insincerity and hypocrisy. That is why you find so many of us believers, not finding the LORD despite our being in Church for years.
Someone will be going through hell on earth and yet he or she is not interested in finding the LORD through a life of submission to His will, ways and word. That is why we die like chickens.
I have seen people whose lives are being fed on by diseases, death and all kinds of hellish situations resisting the truth of the gospel, and using what the corrupt preachers in Church are doing as an excuse for not coming truly to the LORD Jesus and serving Him. For me, that is a demonstration of stupidity.
If you allow the sinful and corrupt lifestyles of so called preachers to stop you from saving your soul, you will realize how stupid you were when you close your eyes in death. The corruption in the Church should not be an excuse for living in sin. You will be destroyed without redemption if you make it an excuse.
You need Jesus and He still have Holy and righteous servants of His on the face of the earth. Meet them to guide you on how to find Him. That is the only way to find rest for your soul.
Our devotional text today is full of truths. But let me limit myself to one line in the text. It says
“who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,”
Meeting Jesus and making Him our LORD and personal savior is the only way we can flee from the tempest of sin and the consequences of the fall of man on the human race. It is the only way we can flee for refuge.
When we find the LORD through deep repentance and submission to His word, will and ways, a supernatural hope will be birth in us that will become an anchor for our soul. With that anchor, no tempest blowing from the ocean of a tempestuous life to the shore can pull us away. That is the message of today’s devotional.
Finally, let me say this; if you are saved and care about your family members, your prayer for their salvation will help them a lot. But do not stop at just praying for them. Seek the LORD for utterance and grace to talk to them. It is God given utterances that strikes the cords of men’s hearts to save them from eternal judgment.
A lot are losing their family members these days to death and all that in rapid succession. Instead of looking for who will help break the curse, get them saved and the curse will be broken. Let them receive the blessing of Abraham (the promise of the Holy Spirit) and all will be well.
Taking prophets and prophetesses to pray and anointing them will oil, sowing seeds and all that will not save them. It will only save the prophet or prophetess from financial hardship. We need to follow Bible ways to saving our love ones, not the witch-doctors ways.
If we do not rush in through Bible ways and persuade each one of them to make Jesus the anchor of their lives the tempest will keep blowing them away and we will keep mourning for not doing what the LORD willed us to do. Again this is a wake up call to all who truly love their love ones to demonstrate it by persuading them to make Jesus the anchor of their lives!
Ask the LORD for their souls to be delivered from the gate of hell by the power of the blood of Jesus Christ, and for utterance to speak the right words to them. The right word will be GOD given and Spirit enabled. It will strike the loins of their hearts and bring them to the LORD.
