TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Monday 16TH August 2021)
“But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you.”
“And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house. Whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you. And heal the sick there, and say to them,’ The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
“But whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into its streets and say, ‘The very dust of your city which clings to us we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near you.’
“But I say to you that it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city. Luke 10:5-12 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 228TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS!
Yes, greater accomplishments of God’s love and mercies are all we have been celebrating. We have seen Him frustrate the tokens of liars and made diviners mad. We have seen Him do things that amaze us as a people. To Him belongs all the glory in Jesus precious name.
There is so much truth to glean from this devotional text today. But we will just highlight a little. Welcome to another glorious time with the word of the LORD!
Right relationships can be a channel of divine provisions.
Prophetically speaking, there are people God has ordained that visitors be His channel of lifting for them. Not that they should go looking for foreigners to beg them for money, but through supernatural connections, things should just begin to flow, making their lives to take a new turn.
For instance, God has ordained that Kenya earn part of her economic fatness by the hands of foreigners. It’s not just Kenya as a nation but Kenyans as a people. This is very prophetic! In other word, part of your economic freedom as a Kenyan Citizen, is tied to the foreigners God brings into this nation. If you do not recognize that and position yourself properly, you may remain poor.
Either you believe it or not, God has ordained that the lives of any people whose economic destiny is tight to foreigners spring forth beautifully by the way they treat them.
Now, some may not directly give you money, but the good deeds you do to them has a way of bringing you into prophetic alignment as a child of God for your personal economic fatness.
WHY AM I SHARING ALL THESE THINGS?
We can draw more lessons and revelation on Right Relationships from God’s pre-determined destiny for Kenya. The Bible says,
“Therefore your gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles, and their kings in procession.” Isaiah 60:11 NKJV
There are nations whose gates are shut to foreigners. Such nations cannot experience nor have what God has ordained to come to them through relationships. One of such is wealth! And because the gates of Kenya are not shut day or night according to the scriptures, men (including presidents of nations, captain of industries, medical personals, scientist, authors, good preachers, business men and women) are bringing wealth to the nation; some of us unknowingly.
Personally, we have spent over 10 million shillings since we first set our feet in Nairobi in 2012. The first person who enjoyed from my visit had finished his school and was suffering because there was no money to pay for his fees and collect his. I helped him under God pay it.
Though he did not even appreciate my kind gesture, like many are not trained to do, I was happy that I helped him.
If every other visitor or foreigner in Kenya will sit down to check themselves, we will all discover that Kenya have been really blessed having us. Indeed, a people who will not shut the doors of relationship to the outside world, stand the chance of receiving wealth from other nations.
As a Child of God, you are only as rich as the amount of money God move people to place in your hands.
If your gates are shut, He will not be able to move people to bring wealth to you. In kingdom Economy, money is moved into our lives by God using people; if the gate of our lives are therefore shut to right relationships, our economic life will never be right in spite of our prayers, fasting, or sacrifices.
THAT IS WHY SATAN USES ISOLATION TO KEEP SOME POOR!
If you are isolated from Right relationships, it will affect every aspect of your life, not just economy. Do not, your life will never be right until God gives you the right person to make it right. Poverty is always as a result of supernatural power failure; and supernatural power failure cuts right people away from us. Bringing wrong ones in replacement; wrong ones whose only goal is to prey upon you.
That brings us to what must be in your life for Right People to come your way. The first thing that you must have in your life therefore to have right relationships in is the prince of peace Himself. It is His peace in your life that will bring the right people to you.
In other words, there must be peace within your borders. Life has taught most of us that if you we are not at peace with ourselves, it will be impossible for anyone to be at peace with us; come to talk of bringing wealth to us.
There was this lady that my wife and I got to know at the course of ministry that separated from her husband. She looked peaceful and serene outwardly but internally she was not.
One day I decided to sit down to listen to her story. The way she was restless about the whole thing showed me that she was the one at fault. Her husband was a right Relationship sent to her by the LORD (though with some rough edges that should have been smoothened by her submission and sweetness).
The problem was she was too manly to keep him.
Sadly, she refused to admit the truth. And the fire had not stopped raging within her soul. Child of God, “It takes being a wife to keep a man. When a woman decides to be the man, she will lose her man.”
Further enquiries showed us that she had not been able to keep any “Right Person” God sent to her after separation from her husband. She shared with me about the great relationships she lost before knowing us.
GUESS WHAT? IN SPITE OF HOW SHE SANG OUR PRAISE, SHE LOST US TOO.
It is peace within that attracts Sons of peace to come to us. That is why the Bible made it clear that if we encounter Sons of war and they hurt us badly, we should shake of the dust of whatever happened from our feet (minds), and move on. Else we end up kindling a fire in our souls that will not let Sons of peace to come, stay, and bless us.
Don’t forget, from what we see in our devotional text, “Sons of peace” are a special kind of Right Relationships in the storehouse of GOD’s goodness. And Christ told His apostles on a missionary trip not to have anything to do with men and women who are not having the traits of “Sons of Peace.”
In other words, not to go where people with raging fires in their souls live; which also means Right Relationships will not come to us if we have such fires in our souls. That was how Samson was burnt up by the raging fire in Delilah’s soul.
A major highlight in our devotional text says,
“But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ And if A SON OF PEACE is there, your peace will rest on it; if not, it will return to you. And remain in the same house, eating and drinking such things as they give, for the laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not go from house to house…”
There are SONS OF PEACE and there are SONS OF WAR. Sons of war are people with internal fires of anger, rage, or painful experiences burning within their souls, and they have a way of transferring it to Right Relationships God sends their way, thereby losing them.
But Sons of Peace are different! They are men and women who do not let internal fires burn for too long within them. They quench them quickly using love, mercy, and self-control.
I want you to understand that, we all have internal fires that sometimes burn within our souls. These internal fires are most times kindled when we remember the things that may have happened to us in the past; a rape experience, a painful upbringing, any kind of abuse, injustice, betrayal and the like. But wisdom demands that we quench them as quickly as possible and not allow them to become a snare to us in our quest for Right Relationships.
A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE LOST GREAT RELATIONSHIPS TO THE INTERNAL FIRES THAT RAGES WITHIN THEIR SOULS!
You must extinguish that fire raging within your soul before asking God to give you the gift of right relationships. People have lost great personalities GOD blessed them with due to the fires raging in their souls.
There are people who cannot get or stay married due to this. There are those who have lost great spouses to the fire of regrets within their souls. Some the fire of deceit, anger out of control, lust, pride, sexual passions, carnal desires, strive. vile imaginations and etc. God want them to repent and change their ways hence sending this word.
We can go on and on, but like I have always said, this is a devotional not a book. But what is God saying to us this morning? Until you are Peaceful with yourself, no one will be peaceful with you.
Sadly, most preachers and Churches are gifted in kindling these internal fires in their members. Consequently, you find them loosing choose relationships.
A woman with such fires came one day accusing her husband of “hellish things” but when I asked her if she has any prove, she said no! Sadly, she is a pastor and the Church she serves is one of those Churches that kindle internal fires of hate and wickedness towards, even family members, in the hearts of people.
The woman was bent at divorcing her husband when I disconnected form her.
If you want your gates to remain open, and God to be bringing wealth to you through Right relationships, you must be at PEACE with yourself. It takes PEACE WITHIN YOUR BORDERS to have PROSPERITY WITHIN YOUR PALACE.
