TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 6TH OCTOBER 2024)
“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:12-16 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 280TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.
Today we are having our corporate fellowship as believers in Christ. I hope you will find a good church to fellowship. May the LORD protect you from false churches, dark preachers, and heresies.
May he plant your feet in a pillar and ground of truth. Amen.
The Bible says they that are planted in the House of God shall flourish like a Palm tree. That they shall still bring forth fruit in old age. That makes a Church with the presence of God a necessity for a human being. It is my prayer that you find one today.
It is my prayer that you do not find fellowship in a spiritual cage paraded as a Church. It is my prayer that the LORD will not allow any of us to be so trapped by the enemy. Amen and amen.
We have been sharing on taking our place at the feet of the LORD. Today, we will build on that. I hope we are ready!!
You see, when you are at the feet of Jesus (the place of learning, unlearning and re-learning, then obeying and submitting), the lessons do not come to an end. The reasons the lessons do not come to an end is because of the curriculum. It is eternal.
Time is too weak to bring what is eternal to an end. Besides, the sitting environment is not natural. It is supernatural. The classes are not just in a natural building, but in the realm of glory.
That is why, for example, when we teach standing in our place and using the media to reach people, you find many having encounters with the LORD, right in their homes through their TV sets.
Also, the sessions are unending because they are coming from a realm where things do not come to an end. The Bible says;
“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!” Romans 11:33 NKJV
YOU CANNOT BE SCHOOLED IN THE WAYS OF THE ETERNAL GOD IN A SECULAR SETTING. YOU CAN ONLY BE SCHOOLED IN A SUPERNATURAL SETTING.
You can’t even get access to the depth of the riches of both God’s wisdom and knowledge with a natural mind set. The Bible says “How unsearchable are His judgment and His ways past finding.”
Meaning, there is no natural mind that can take hold of them.
A mind must be acted upon by the Holy Spirit for it to grasp the things. The Bible says,
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:6-8 KJV
This also mean, we need a spiritual mind to come into the feet realm of Christ where schooling in His ways and will can really take place. It reveals to us that there is a heart position that we must maintain for every Kingdom truth we hear to make impact on our lives.
That is why not all people can agree with living truths from the LORD, or comprehend them.
Most of the things we have been sharing in our meetings and in some of these devotionals are not things you understand except you have the heart for them. The Bible says to be carnally minded is death. If you are carnally minded, you cannot be admitted into the school of the Spirit where the UNSEARCHABLE THINGS OF GOD are revealed.
The Bible says,
“But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1 Corinthians 2:14
The natural mind in this scripture is the carnal mind. It cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God (the unsearchable judgments of God and ways that are past finding) for they are foolishness to it.
NEITHER CAN IT KNOW THEM WHEN THEY ARE TAUGHT, BECAUSE THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED.
No one can be taught things that are past finding with a carnal mind.
Our local assemblies are full of people who are empty of the mind of Christ. So many we call Born Again are carnally minded men and women; people whose minds are in enmity against God. With an orientation that cannot be subject to His laws or principles.
One thing about a carnal mind is that it can drift easily towards revelations about Satan, his demons and all of his activities, but cannot open up to the things of God.
That is why you see the Church easily understanding everything you tell them about Satan but finding it difficult to understand the things of God.
You don’t really need to be filled with the Holy Spirit to grasp the depths of Satan when preached to you. Being carnally minded is just enough. But when it comes to the revelation of God, His will, His ways, and His glory, you will need a spiritual mind.
This is evident all over the human history.
Today, if you take a scriptural look on the local churches that teach about Satan, or stir their members towards what they call spiritual warfare; giving them the names of demons to pray against, telling them what the demons do and how to tackle them in prayer, (in the guise of not being ignorant of the devices of the devil), you will discover that majority who are even fervent in following the teachings are carnal.
You can hardly find one among them who is truly filled with the Holy Ghost, one who walks in truth. All these testify how the carnal mind cannot access the things of God. It teaches us that it can easily access the things of the devil, understand them and respond immediately.
That is why if you try to be spiritual with a carnal mind, the best you will get from the spirit realm is the demonic world. You will never access the realm of God; where His unsearchable judgment or deep wisdom exists.
YOU WILL JUST BE FLOATING WITH ALL YOU KNOW ABOUT SATAN AND THE MAN-MADE GOSPEL.
The spiritual position you need to be properly schooled in the ways or will of the LORD is not a carnal mind, but what the Bible calls the mind of Christ.
THE MIND OF CHRIST is not a religious or CARNAL MIND. It is the spiritual mind.
The Bible describes the carnal mind as the mind of the flesh. It calls it “sense and reason without the Holy Spirit.” You cannot access the realm of God with that kind of a mind-set. Sense and reason without the Holy Spirit cannot access the things of GOD.
The mind of Christ, the Spiritual mind, is sense and reason with the Spirit of Christ, or “sense and reason with the Holy Ghost.” It is a mind of the sanctified human spirit, created in us by the power of the Holy Ghost. It is created through Salvation encounter.
That is the mind we need to be schooled in the ways, will and glory of God – it is the only mind that can help us access the depth of the riches, both of the wisdom and knowledge of God; His unsearchable judgments and ways that past finding out. That brings us to our devotional text for the day.
A major highlight of it says;
But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
When you have the mind of Christ it will show in two ways! The first way is, you will be spiritually discerning and able to judge all things. And the second is you will be rightly judged by no one.
Now what do all these means? It means you will have the Spiritual capacity to examine, investigate, inquire into, question, and discern all things before accepting or rejecting them.
You will be able to read the spiritual meaning of everything with precision and accuracy, but no one will be able to properly discern, appraise or get an insight into you – that includes sorcerers, mediums, diviners, false prophets, prophetic witches and wizards.
THAT IS HOW SECURED YOU WILL BECOME IF YOU HAVE A SPIRITUAL MIND.
The Christian life was originally designed to be lived that way. Sadly, the reverse is the case today. Our local assemblies are full of carnal people who are trying to be spiritual.
You see them engaging in what they call “SPIRITUAL WARFARE,” fighting and fighting, but if you look deep into whatever they are doing, it is simply “SOULISH WARFARE!”
Friend, it is dangerous for carnal people to fight evil powers! They will come under the same counter attacks that the Sons of Sceva faced in their days! That is why you see the lives of those engaged in such warfare scattered.
You see them living very miserable and oppressive lives. You find them in the sorry side of life. Most will return to their deities and African traditions to solve problems when things become bad.
What is the word of the LORD today? You need the mind of Christ to be able to understand and gain access into the things of God. You do not need one more day with a carnal mind.

Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”
