TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 10TH DECEMBER 2023)
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 344TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF SIGNS AND WONDERS.
It is the first day of another week. This is the day the LORD has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it.
Today the LORD has a word for us on operating in divine wisdom.
Oh, how we need that today. So many of our youths are full of foolishness. So many believers seem far from the wisdom of God. But the Bible made it clear that it is through wisdom that kings reign and princes decree Justice.
Salvation has made us kings and princes. Our rulership on earth will not be by prayer but by wisdom. Prayer will grant us the divine presence and wisdom we need, if done rightly.
Most of our royalty will be visible on earth in the age to come. But the spiritual version of our reign is now. We are to reign spiritually today because the spiritual is the bedrock of the physical.
The main reason for that is to bring everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God to the obedience of Christ. So, we need divine wisdom to do that. We need divine wisdom to enforce God’s will on earth as written in Heaven, and to convert the Kingdom of this world into that of God and of His Christ.
When saved and sanctified people do not operate in divine wisdom, the Christian life will be like a plague to them. In fact, you will regret giving your life to Christ if you do not spend your Christian life operating in divine wisdom.
You can do without an Education, but you can never do without divine wisdom. It is through divine wisdom we bring into our lives what God has finished concerning us in the spirit realm. In other words, it is through divine wisdom that we outsource blessings and the finished works of Christ from Heaven to our lives on earth.
I have come to discover that, any Christian life that is not outsourcing its sustenance from Heaven, will be consumed by the devils that are parading the earth.
WE WERE ORIGINALLY CREATED TO OUTSOURCE OUR LIVES FROM HEAVEN TO THE EARTH.
If we start outsourcing it from the earth, we will live under curses. And talking about curses, I want you to understand that no curse can work in the life of someone who is outsourcing his life from Heaven.
No curse can work in the life of someone whose life decisions are not from the earth. No curse can work in the life of someone whose wisdom is not from this world. No curse can work in the life of people operating in divine or Heavenly wisdom.
When Daniel operated in divine wisdom, he and his friends did not perish with the wise men of Babylon. He spent his days at the palace dissolving mysteries and solving enigmas. Friend, you do not need a man in your life, neither do you need some money in your pocket. You need divine wisdom in your heart.
Divine wisdom will put money in your pocket, and surround you with good people that can be of help to you; and God wants us to ask for it. The Bible says;
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; James 1:5-7 NKJV
Time has come for someone reading this to start spending his or her daily life, asking the LORD for the wisdom that is from above. Time has come to learn to ask for this wisdom whenever we are at a cross road in life.
Yes, in God’s plan, when we are at a cross road in life, we should not throw our hands in the air and start crying or feeling sorry for ourselves. We should bow our knees in prayer asking the LORD for the wisdom that is not of this world to deal with the situation.
That was what David did when he was in a terrible situation in the last two chapters of the Book of 1 Samuel. Read it and see how our fathers navigated through the storms of life using wisdom that is not from this world.
If we do not operate in the wisdom that is from above, everything from hell will hinder us and make our lives a misery. We will not be able to fulfil our call as Christians, neither are we going to become all that the LORD has called us to be.
DON’T FORGET, THE CHRISTIAN FAITH IS A CALL TO BATTLE.
In this battle we are to manifest on earth, the life that God has finished in Heaven concerning us; and that, we are to do within the days He has given us on earth. That is why in the apostolic, the Church is considered “an army” and those who are born again “soldiers.”
We are the army of the LORD on earth, fighting His battles in partnership with His Holy Spirit, TO MAKE SURE things are on earth as finished in Heaven. Sadly, many do not even know this, hence living a defeated Christian life!
Satan knows so much about our calling, hence fighting it viciously, but we know so little about it. That is why we fall into his schemes and snares.
The fallen angel knows who we are, that is why spiritual warfare is intense. If we do not know that we are called into battle, and that the fight we are called into, is a good fight of faith, a fight to become all on earth that God has finished concerning us in Heaven, we will always be defeated in life.
So many Christians are ignorant of what I just stated above. That is why many of us are defeated. And when we try to fight, we get ourselves engaged in a bad fight of faith.
Any fight that is not governed by divine wisdom, is not a good fight of faith. It is simply a bad fight of faith.
Yes, there is a bad fight of faith! For instance, when you use bottles of Oil instead of the power of the Holy Spirit in prayers, you are engaged in a bad fight of faith. When you take drinking of Oil as receiving the Holy Spirit, you are engaged in a bad fight of faith.
When you think you can use mustard seeds, brooms, mats, and pieces of clothes to defeat the devil permanently, you are engaged in a bad fight of faith. The God of Heaven and Earth called us into a good fight of faith not a bad fight.
HE SAID IN HIS WORD, “FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH; LAY HOLD ON ETERNAL LIFE.”
It takes a good fight of faith to lay hold on things in the Spirit, and birth them in the natural realm. And that fight can only be fought with divine wisdom. That is why the Bible says, “Wisdom is the principal thing. In all your getting, get wisdom get understanding.”
Any Christian who do not operate in divine wisdom and understanding will remain under darkness in life, because it takes understanding to stand against the wiles of the wicked one.
When you understand, you can stand against your enemies; and when you are wise, you can win. It is one thing to stand against your enemies and another to win. You could stand and not win. But when you are wise and have the spirit of Understanding, you can stand against your enemies and win. Hallelujah!
Understanding make you stand up to challenges of life; it makes you stand against your enemies. So, start seeking the LORD for His wisdom. Start spending your days asking Him to fill your heart with the Spirit of understanding.
Let me wrap this up by sharing with us one major key to receiving the wisdom that is not from this world. It is called “Sound doctrine.”
The wisdom of God is sound wisdom. It is not demonic or worldly in nature; it is spiritually sound. That is why you will never be able to walk in it without encountering what the Bible calls SOUND DOCTRINE.
You will need a preacher or a book loaded with sound doctrine to receive divine wisdom. You will need to plant yourself in a Church that teaches sound doctrine to become sound in wisdom.
If you will have a pastor and a Church that teaches sound doctrine in your walk with God, and spend quality time with the Bible looking for sound truths about life, you will never lack the wisdom that is from above.
I have come to discover that there are three classes of Christians.
There are the TOTALLY FREE CHRISTIANS whose salvation is based on sound doctrine. This breed is totally free from habitual sins, and do not take God’s mercy or grace for granted. They make use of it to live right before God and man.
The totally free operate in sound wisdom, living no place to the devil in their lives.
Then we have THE PARTIALLY FREE Christians. These are the ones whose salvation is not total because of the kind of gospel that brought them into Christianity.
For instance, they will stand behind the pulpit to preach or teach, serve as ushers or sing in the Choir, and still respond to the flesh when they feel drawn. They are not free from the sins they lived in before joining the faith, hence are always found in them and explaining it away!
There are so many in Church today, who can take or follow someone to bed, even after praying loud prayers in Church, saying it does not matter.
Friend, I have come to discover that when sin no longer matter to you, in just a matter of time, you will become a matter in hell.
It is foolish to feed on sin and say it does not matter! But this breed of Christians do not care. They take God’s mercy and grace for granted because their salvation is not based on sound doctrine.
They walk in human wisdom and spiritual foolishness calling it “grace.”
You always find them where heresies and false doctrines are taught. They are the ones that devils are always with because they always have food for him in their lives.
It was this class of Christians God rebuked in His word THROUGH apostle Paul saying;
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.” 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NKJV
Then we have the third class of Christians. This is the class that is NOT FREE AT ALL. They are not free from sin or Satan. They are just traditional.
The only difference between them and unbelievers is that they go to Church. This breed is yet to encounter the LORD. You put them off when you speak about sound doctrine or anything about purity, holiness, or spiritual.
THEY OPERATE IN EITHER THE WISDOM OF MEN OR THAT OF DEVILS.
When you tell them about Biblical position of things they will say “keep the Bible aside. This is not Church.” Like I sated earlier; they are not different from the lost sinners out there in spirit.
However, God wants all Christians to be sound in faith. God wants us to operate in sound wisdom, and it takes sound doctrine to be sound in faith and operate in sound wisdom.
A major highlight in our devotional text said, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine,” Sadly, we are in that time now. Most prefer following what is working and not what is true.
To some, joining a Church or becoming a Christian is now determined by the financial gains and reward they can get for doing so. We forget that we go to church to be discipled and trained to do the work of God by touching lives positively.
We go to Church to contact the power to live a holy life and make Heaven.
We can go on and on, but this is a devotional. This is not a book. It is my prayer that you use the few things that have been shared here to improve your walk and talk with God. Amen!!
