TODAY’S DEVOTION (Wednesday 19TH August 2020)
“And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Genesis 2:18 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 230TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF REJOICING
Faith and Obedience are the currencies of the Spirit. But relationship is the currency of the earth. It is the bridge upon which all things flow. You may not have money but if you have people, especially men and women who love and care for you, friend you are rich.
The greatest blessing you can have on earth is GOD surrounding you with people who genuinely care for you and yours. That is why family is the greatest blessing one can have on earth. But the fall-down-and-die gospel has helped the devil in destroying many families.
Yesterday we highlighted the importance of divine wisdom. And received a word on the wisdom of using our delegated controls properly. Siting the book of Genesis, we discovered that God gave man delegated control over the earth. That control is to be managed with divine wisdom as a tool.
One other divine wisdom that was conspicuously revealed in the book of genesis is the wisdom of not being alone in life.
It seems to me that Satan knows the destructive power of being alone in life, especially at the wrong time, more than many believers today. Which is why we submit to his divisive tactics that separates us from those God brought to add color to our lives, spiritually and otherwise.
God never designed a man, especially a man on assignment, to be alone. Satan and his evil men know that very well, hence putting believers who have great assignments to accomplish in life in disagreement with needed men and women.
The Bible spoke about the saints being perfected for the work of the ministry.
You cannot be perfected to pursue your GOD given assignment sitting down alone with GOD. You need His given men to be perfected. It is not good for a man, planted in his Eden, with an eternal assignment to accomplish with GOD, to be alone.
It is not good for anyone in his or her GOD given place to be alone. Except you have not found your place, being alone in life can be extremely dangerous.
Our devotional text says;
“It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
THE WISDOM OF MAKING SURE MEN WHO ARE IN THEIR GOD GIVEN PLACES ARE NOT ALONE MUST BE UNDERSTOOD.
This wisdom was what led to the creation of marital relationships. But life has made it clear that one can be married and still be alone. So many who are married are indeed alone. For instance, If you get married to a death partner (one who is not transmitting life into the relationship) instead of a life partner, you will remain alone.
Being with people does not always translate into not being alone. You can be with so many people around you, and you will be seen as fortunate, but GOD knows you are alone. Because none can either understand or even help you properly.
I have tasted the bitter pill of being with people who seem helpful and yet finding yourself alone.
In such circumstances, people will refuse to offer help to you because they think you have people and do not need them. But they do not have the prophetic foresight to know that, though you are surrounded, you are still alone and are either struggling, or dying silently. And when you finally die, they will be the loudest in asking , “what happened?”
None will ever know that you died because you were alone, only GOD will know because even those around will never know you died for being alone.
There are warriors in the Kingdom that I fear may die for being alone like Samson or Moses, who missed the promised land because none could share the burdens he carried. The essence of not being alone is, among other things, for burden sharing.
If you are surrounded by people who cannot help you share or bear the burdens you bear in life, but are only good at sapping your strength to keep themselves alive, you will drop dead one day with none knowing why you drooped.
That is when you will see emergency prophets, attempting to share this vision or that dream, saying this, or that prophetic reason, why you dropped.
I HATE SAYING THESE THINGS, BUT THEY HAPPEN!
When the Bible says it is not good that man should be alone, it cuts across all relationship types – from marital relationships to all other kinds.
Few years back, I shared that a Child of God needs three types of human relationships to fulfill destiny; people who are more than him (his superiors), those at his level (his colleagues), and those beneath him. All must be able to carry one burden or the other from his or her shoulder as he or she do the same for them.
You could have these kinds of relationship, but if they are just there to have you carry their burdens, you are still alone. You will drop down one day!
Adam was created to be a burden carrier, that was why GOD said it is not good for him to be alone. Every burden carrier must have people bearing their burdens also. They must not be alone in life.
The devil like keeping them alone to kill them. He kills them that way because he hates burden carriers. He hates them because they are the most effective weapons God uses in destroying his works, hence wants them out.
You can now understand why he swayed the wicked to kill Jesus! God has a way of protecting His own, but He allowed it to happen on Jesus’ case because His death would bring our deliverance.
Apart from not allowing burden bearers to be alone, there is another group of people that “is not good for them to be alone.” These are destinies that are in the preparatory room for greatness.
People like young David, Samuel, Jeremiah, and all others who GOD may be raising to become future burden carriers.
The life of a man of purpose, or future burden carrier like Adam, was not designed to be lived alone. It is not just applicable to marriage. It is applicable to all things.
THAT IS WHY, THE BEST WAY A FUTURE BURDEN CARRIER SHOULD LIVE, IS THE WAY OF HAVING GOOD ATTITUDES TOWARDS OTHERS IN LIFE.
If you are wicked, unkind, non-gracious, or unforgiving, it is not good for you. You will miss whatever the LORD has determined to give you through people. God use men to visit men. If you are the Christian type that suspects everybody, despise those beneath you, disrespect those ahead of you, and have nothing to do with others, you will miss great visitations from God.
So many future redemption burden bearers, are so blind. They have wrapped themselves with the sacred mantle of bad attitudes. Some are following the way of Absalom, a promising young man who craved for the throne of his father and ended up destroying himself.
Others are following the way of Cain, who hated and killed his brother, or the way of the 42 boys who mocked Elisha and got judged by the LORD.
Others are like the sons of Eli, who see sex with holy people as a holy thing. Some others lack respect for the aged or even those who are higher than them – most times, people providing for their welfare.
If you have a great destiny to unleash, but wrap yourself in the mantle of bad attitudes, you will become your own grave. It will never be unleashed. Your bad attitudes will isolate you from needed people and finally bury you in the sand of time with it.
As we bring this to a close, I want you to understand that you were not created to be alone. You need people. You need people who care about you and love you unconditionally. But only prayers crowned with good attitudes can bring them to you.
God is Father of the fatherless and will never allow anyone to who needs people to become a person to be alone.
MAY THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION!
“A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in His holy habitation. God sets the solitary in families; He brings out those who are bound into prosperity; But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.” Psalms 68:5-6 NKJV
