TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 31ST JANUARY 2025)
“If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you, let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth — if I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy.” Psalms 137:5-6 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 31st DAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY.
Glory be to the Most High God for granting us mercy to come to the end of the month. His mercy made it a very peaceful month. Being in His presence on daily bases made it look like time was suspended.
It was indeed a very fast month in my judgement, in fact it seems like we are still on the first day of the year or first week. We believe that this will be the peace template for the year. Our LORD and savior Jesus Christ will keep us in other months like He kept us in January. Amen.
Yes, it’s the last day of the first month of our year of victory, and we are glad to be alive and victorious according to God’s word. We can see from the things He did in our lives this month, that His counsel sat when He declared the year to be our year of Victory.
Mankind remains the heartbeat of God on earth. The angels were so amazed of this that they asked, “who is man that, you are so mindful of him?”
In Heaven, matters of the prophetic destiny of man seems to be the only matters that make a heavenly council sit. For instance, the first recorded time that the council of Heaven sat over an issue was after the creation of heaven and earth.
When it was time to create man, the council sat and said;
…”Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 NKJV
THIS IS A RECORD OF THE AGENDA OF THAT COUNCIL.
Members of the council were God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. They sat to create man in their own image and likeness, so he could rule the physical realm as their deputy, by making sure things are on earth as written in heaven.
This means, the council of Heaven does not sit when we need money, healing, or freedom from anything. We can get all that without the council sitting. The council sits only when matters of man’s destiny creep into the Throne Room via the prayers of the saints on earth.
Every believer should understand that Heaven will always stand on its feet for People who desire to serve their generation according to the will of GOD. Yes, Jesus will stand on His feet when those who are sold out to His course are being persecuted and threatened with death.
The council will sit because it is a matter of the prophetic destiny of man.
So, no matter what you may be going through, if the fulfillment of your divine destiny is not at the center of it all, it will never make God’s Heavenly council to sit on the case. Sadly, if God’s Heavenly council did not sit on your case, it does not matter who might sit, you will never come out victorious.
To intervene in our lives, God will first harmonize us with His immediate present will. If that is done, then He can move significantly. It is that harmonization that elevates our lives and the challenges in them, into things that the council of Heaven need to sit to deal with.
The Bible teaches that the Heart of God beats after men and women whose hearts are beating after their divine destiny. If you want God to set His eyes permanently on you, locate what He created you to do on earth, and live your days doing it. You will enjoy great attention from His throne.
There is a generation that Heaven is watching over; it is not the generation of prayer warriors. It is not even the generation of preachers. It is the generation of those who are mindful of their divine destiny and are busy with how to fulfill it.
THESE PEOPLE ENJOY A SPECIAL GRACE OF DIVINE ATTENTION.
Before they call, God’s answers, and while they are still speaking, God hears. In our most recent devotionals, God highlighted to us that living a life of repentance is one major ingredient our destiny will need to be fulfilled.
Secrets sins can be very dangerous to people who are pregnant with prophecies; people who are heavily pregnant with the revelation of things God pre-planned them to accomplish on earth.
I have come to discover that every Child of destiny who could not finish the race God set for him, disappointed destiny because of either a secret sin or something close to it. Sin has a way of not forgiving us, even after God has forgiven us.
The scars and sorrows have a way of lingering even after you have acquired the greatest fortune. Can you imagine Samson in Judges Chapter 16? God forgave him and restored back his hair, but sin did not forgive him. His ministry abruptly came to an end.
Our lives and ministries will suffer the same fate if we do not live lives of repentance. That would have brought the presence of the LORD upon your life, depending on the church you worship.
Samson made it to the hall of rewards; He died a blind and frustrated warrior! Sins will make it impossible for people of destiny to end well. That is why a life of repentance is critical in our quest to unleash our destinies.
Genuine repentance will put a spark in our spirits. It is the spark that makes people act swiftly. Thereby, using the moments to unleash something uncommon. If you do not add swift response to your divine destiny, it will never be fulfilled.
Lazy people will never fulfill their destiny because they lack swiftness and are usually full of fear, especially fear for any barriers to their progress. But diligent people will collect grace through fasting and prayer to clear the barriers.
There is what we call in the prophetic “the swiftness of an eagle.” If you do not have this as a Child of God you will never step into destiny, consequently, becoming a prey of spiritual predators like premature death.
OUR DEVOTIONAL TEXT WAS AN EXPRESSION DAVID PASSIONATELY MADE IN ONE OF THOSE SPIRITUAL SESSIONS OF HIS LIFE.
A major highlight in it says; “If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you, let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth..”
Jerusalem was the place of His divine destiny. His assignment was not actually to become king, but to locate where the temple was appointed to be built, before the ages began. Becoming King was an empowerment for him to fulfill the assignment, and that he did very well – he located and built Jerusalem – a major project that was part of his divine destiny.
As you can see in the devotional text, David attached his joy, skill, and power of speech to his response to divine destiny. That means swift response to divine destiny has a way of bringing significance to us. It has a way of protecting us in ways we may not understand.
That is why it’s not safe to spend one moment of your life outside the things God may have assigned you to do on the face of the earth.
I pray for you today that you take away fear from your heart and embrace God. I pray that you understand what the will of the LORD is, redeeming the time. I pray that you don’t become lazy or slothful in matters of divine destiny, but you become swift and responsive, in Jesus precious name! Amen!!
See you in February 2025!!
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY;
Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:14-17 NKJV
