TODAY’S DEVOTION (Saturday 1st February 2025)
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.”
“Do not be like the horse or like the mule, which have no understanding, which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, else they will not come near you.” Psalms 32:8-9 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 32NDDAY OF OUR YEAR OF VICTORY
It is the second month of our year of victory. Let gratitude fill your heart and praise your lips. If you think that the enemy wanted you to see this day, then you do not understand spiritual warfare. Our God is a man of war that is why we are here looking at a new month.
Recently, a black hawk Helicopter collided with an airplane that was landing at Reagan Airport in Washington DC. It was a very devastating accident that aviation experts believed was preventable. The story had it that some of the people on the flight were returning home from a sport event.
When the pilot announced that they would be landing in so and so minutes, as the tradition is, they never knew that would never happen. Life can be so unpredictable. Only God’s mercies can save a man from such mishap. You will wake up thinking you will see the next day but might never see it.
That is why we must thank God for helping us to make it to February 2025.
If we thank Him for helping us make it to this month, and the next months, one day we will wake up to thank Him for helping us to make it peacefully to a good old age, and to the end of our years on earth. The Bible says,
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. 1st Thessalonians 5:16-21 NKJV
We have been sharing about God’s exceeding grace in our daily meetings that started on the 2nd day of January this year. If we live our days keeping to each principle in the scripture above, we will live to see good all the days of our lives. The reason is because those are the Bible principles that places us on the footprint of God’s exceeding grace.
ONE OF THE PRINCIPLES IS GIVING THANKS TO GOD IN EVERYTHING, OR IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCES.
That is the principle I am asking us to align with when I said we should thank God for helping us to make it to a new month. That is the principle that calls for value for every act of mercy from the LORD. Bible men and women knew that it is very important not to take any act of divine mercy for granted.
God’s mercy comes to do so many things in our lives including the security of our divine destinies.
Maybe you have not sat to reason about it but let me share this with us. One of the major things that the Bible teaches to be responsible for God’s acts of kindness in our lives, is our divine destinies, or the things God want to do with our lives that are yet to be done with our lives. You see that in the life of all that walked with the LORD in Bible days.
He said in His word that He will have Mercy on whom He will have mercy, and compassion on whom He will have compassion. So, at every show of mercy, we are to give Him glory and show Him gratitude. That is how we move from one act of mercy to another.
Now, apart from the principle of showing gratitude, there is also the principle of not despising prophecies in that scripture. Close to that one is the principle of proving all things. But the principles are in separatable, because it is the prophecy you prove that you are to accept.
Anyone you have not proven; you are at liberty before God not to accept.
Dark prophets operate as spiritual bullies and manipulators, for the purpose of manipulating people to accept the prophecies they give without proving them. If you attempt to prove their prophecies, they will tell you not to touch the anointed and not to do God’s prophets no harm.
THEY WILL SAY YOU ARE NOT RESPECTING THE ANOINTING OR THE GRACE OF GOD UPON THEIR LIVES.
But they forget that the God they claim to represent said we should prove their prophecies, their graces and operations using the scripture. He said we should only follow them after we have proven them to be true in His own definition of Truth.
But they will not let us follow the principle because they know if we use the scriptures to prove their prophecies, we will burst their deception.
So, they will prefer emotionalism instead of scriptural proves of what they are claiming God said to them. But two of the many things you must not do if you want to live a happy Christian life are, not showing contempt to prophecies and proving them before you accept them.
However, we are not taught by the LORD to do that to prophecies alone. The LORD taught in His word that we do the same to ministries and local churches, anointing that people are walking in and their graces, ministry impacts etc. If we do not do that, we will never have a victorious year or a happy Christians life.
We must not follow any thing called God blindly.
We are instructed by the LORD in the Holy Scriptures to check anything that anyone claims to be from God with God’s word, the Bible. If we do not follow that instruction, we will not be able to avert the destructions of the end time that are raging daily against humanity, especially the ones from the lips of preachers.
Sadly, not everyone can do this on their own. That is why God raised few apostles by content not titles, to teach us how to interpret His word, His will and how to walk in discernment. That is why you can defeat deception effectively if your pastor is a sound teacher of the word.
A major highlight in our devotional text this morning says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.”
One way the LORD does that is by the light of His word in the Holy Scriptures. Following what the LORD says to us in the Holy Scripture must begin to supersede whatever prophets are saying from their spirits. That is the message the LORD is sending to us as we step into a new month.
May the month be one of the best months of your life, in Jesus precious name. Amen and amen!!
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY;
“Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!” says the Lord.
Therefore, thus says the Lord God of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: “You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings,” says the Lord.
“But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 23:1-4 NKJV
