TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Thursday 30th December 2021)
“And Adam knew his wife again, and she bore a son and named him Seth, “For God has appointed another seed for me instead of Abel, whom Cain killed.”
“And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.” Genesis 4:25-26 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 364TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS.
What a blessing to be counted among the living of today; the second to the last day of the year! The Bible says to all who are joined to the living, there is hope. Yes, there is hope for us. Things may not be okay with you this morning, but God’s written word says there is hope because you are still alive.
God who has kept you alive to this season, obviously has something for you!
This glorious morning, we want to look at few things about prayer. I guess you are in a prayer mode this week, being our Passover week.
We are having the Cross over night tomorrow, 31st December 2021, which some of us have called Passover night; a night of passing over from one year to another. You do not Passover on your feet, you Passover on your prayer knees.
So, if you are not on your prayer knee, you are missing a lot. It is required that in every solemn week like this, men bow their knee deeper and longer to God in prayer for mercies, favor, and all they will need for the new Year.
ONE OF THE EARLIEST SONGS I LEARNT WHEN I ENCOUNTERED GOD’S SAVING GRACE WAS A SONG ON PRAYER. IT SAYS;
“Prayer is the key, prayer is the key. Prayer is the master key. Jesus started with prayer, and ended with prayer. Prayer is the master key!”
Sadly, our generation would later come up with what we all take to be a better revelation, hence changing the song to “wisdom is the key.” Those who preach that anchored their opinion on the book of proverbs Chapter 4:7 that says;
“Wisdom is the principal thing. Therefore in all your getting get wisdom and get understanding.”
By wisdom they are not actually referring to the wisdom of God that is most times downloaded in the place of prayer and word intake. They are referring to human wisdom and most times the wisdom of this world; a wisdom you engage by using the human mind to solve problems.
There is nothing wrong with using your God given mind to reason your way through life, that is why it must be the mind of Christ functioning. The practice will not be little prayer because prayer is its major catalyst. What is wrong is engaging human wisdom or the wisdom of this world and calling it wisdom from above.
Our generation threw away prayer and replaced it with what we call wisdom.
Throwing away prayer and replacing it with what they called wisdom would later enthrone humanism in so many places, and get the faith of believers built on the wisdom of men instead of the power of GOD.
One of those warriors of Righteousness that God used to shape Christianity wrote to the Church at Corinth saying;
“And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 NKJV
Anytime we allow our faith to be built on the wisdom of men instead of the power of God, we will no longer see God’s power as of Old among us. We will enthrone education and humanism above the revelation of who God is, and the greatness of His power.
HUMANISM IS TRYING TO SOLVE PROBLEMS WITHOUT INVOLVING GOD.
When humanism is enthroned, the Bible will become a tool for motivational preaching; with the ignorant calling whatever they may be hearing, the gospel. That is when people slip away from God’s genuine Power to occult powers demonstrated through water, salt, oil, prayer clothes and etc.
That is when the Holy Spirit will be reduced to an oil in a bottle and all that, and humanistic philosophies becoming the anchor of the faith of many.
Today, the faith of many is no longer built on the power of God but on the wisdom of men! It has become really bad.
Carnality has become the hallmark of Christianity and we have eventually lost the prayer Spirit. The few who are trying to pray at all, have replaced the lost prayer Spirit with prayer books, and it become really worst.
I believe if we go back to our prayer knee, especially during these period, God will use scriptures like Jeremiah 33:3 that says “Call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you know not” to heal us of any kind of Charismatic madness and wake us up from the terrible slumber many are experiencing in the place of prayer.
We will no longer be comfortable with engaging human wisdom. We will no longer follow those who say we should stop praying and start reading; prayer and reading goes hand in hand.
James Chapter 3:14 to 18 tells us that there are two kinds of wisdom. One is earthly the other is Heavenly. One is from the earth and the other is from above. We will come to the understanding that if you stop praying and start reading, you will only have the wisdom from the earth calling it divine wisdom.
When you study on your prayer knees, you will encounter the wisdom form above and use it to govern your life on earth.
STUDYING WITHOUT BEING ON THE PRAYER KNEE, IS NOT GOOD. IT LEAVES YOU WITH JUST THE WISDOM OF THIS WORLD…
The wisdom of this world or the wisdom from beneath is very limited. The stop-praying-and-start-reading posture got the Church filled with it.
Consequently, we became filled with bitter envy among ourselves and self-seeking. The Bible made it clear in the book of James that a wisdom that gets the Church filled with such filthy things is not from above but is earthly, sensual, and demonic.
It says;
“For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.”
Everything from above is above all filth. Hence, the wisdom from above is pure, peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits. It is without partiality and hypocrisy. And it takes prayer to receive that kind of wisdom.
So, prayer remains the master key because it is the key to the principal thing – the wisdom from above! If you neglect prayer, you have neglected God and all He offers completely. You have made a loud statement in the Spirit.
I have come to realize that whoever make people to cease calling upon the name of the LORD is usually blessed by hell with stupendous wealth. I saw this in the life of the first man in the Bible to cause men to stop calling upon the name of the LORD. His name was Cain.
This man ended up killing his brother Abel, and departing from the presence of God, he began to seek earthly wisdom. You see that in all his lineage invented on earth. Sadly, the same is happening in every Church where teachings that are taking people away from the prayer mantle are taught.
In those churches, you find, brothers killing brothers and all that. You find the evil wind generated blowing in the hearts of Church members and all who drink from such spiritual fountains.
CAIN’S LIFE CREATED EVENTS THAT EVENTUALLY KILLED THE PRAYER SPIRIT IN HIS GENERATION.
But when Seth, a replacement for Abel, was born, the Prayer Spirit was restored.
Now, you will never understand these prophetic things until you read the Book of genesis chapter 4 with the author, the Holy Ghost, sitting by your side to unseal it to you.
Our devotional text this morning made it clear that men began to call upon the name of the LORD when the Seth generation was born.
It says
“And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.”
Child of God there is a Seth generation that is being born today. This generation is leading a ministry that is bringing forth the Enosh spirit – a righteous spirit that is activating the Spirit of of Righteous prayet again. The Holy Ghost is releasing this generation from the womb of His Holiness.
Men will once again begin to call upon the name of the LORD with a pure heart and the Prayer Spirit not with prayer books or incantations like we see in deliverance circles today.
My prayer for you this glorious day is that the Holy Ghost open your eyes to see and your ears to hear these things in a language you will understand in Jesus precious name.
This prophetic message is very deep. We cannot uncover it in a devotional. Whenever people cease calling upon the name of the LORD, especially with the prayer Spirit, hell will begin to hold sway in the lives of men.
Make these seasons your seasons of calling upon the name of the LORD. If you have not been praying Righteous prayers, start doing so today!
Stop using prayer points that summons unclean spirits in prayer. Do not forget that whenever prayer books replace the prayer Spirit in the Church, the prosperity of hell will come in and false prophets will begin to rises to devour the faith that was once delivered to the saints.
You need to key into the Prayer Spirit.
The prayer Spirit is called the Spirit of grace and supplication. It is the authentic fuel of Righteous prayers!
This morning, ask the LORD for the prayer Spirit. It will take away prayer books from your hands and bring you to the place of unleashing tremendous prayer power! This week is a special week so long as the Gregorian Calendar is concern. So, use it well!

“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn” Zechariah 12:10 NKJV
