THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Friday 25th February 2022)

“I will love You, O LORD, my strength.

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies.” Psalm 18:1-3 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 56th DAY OF OUR YEAR OF AMAZING GRACE

God have been so gracious to us this month, teaching us daily truths that has helped some of us become effective in prayer. Not just any prayer but the only prayer that is heard in Heaven and feared in hell; and that prayer is righteous prayer.

If there is anytime we need to cease from any form of religious prayer and come into the realm of righteous prayer, that time is now.

There is so much in our private lives and the world at large to bring under control through righteous prayer. And there is so much we can bring under control by calling upon the LORD who is worthy of our praise!

If we will all absorb what have been taught on prayer on this platform this month, a lot in our lives and environments will be brought under divine control. And l believe it or not, there is so much that is under demonic control that need to be brought under divine control.

Prayer is highly needed to bring all under divine control. The Bible says;

“We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.” 1 john 5:19 NKJV

There is so much in our world that is under the sway of the evil one; the health of many, the marriages of others, the careers of most people, most national or local governments, politics and politicians, prophets and priests, preachers and listeners, the rich and the poor, and etc.

There is so much in our world that is under the control of the evil one. And God, the owner of the earth, wants that to stop. You may be shocked to discover that He is counting on our prayer knees to permit Him to do that.

Due to the laws of dominion that governs things that relates humans and God, what we do not permit God to do, in certain aspects of our lives, He will not do.

For instance, If we do not permit Him with our will to take us to Heaven, He will not. That is why we have people in Hell today.

We must understand that there are things that cannot be brought under divine control until the divine is permitted by the human to bring them under control. Which brings me to the main theme of today’s devotional.

HOW TO BRING THINGS UNDER DIVINE CONTROL THROUGH PRAYER

The first step to take is to understand the will of God concerning that thing.

The last portion of our devotional text says

“I will call upon the LORD who is worthy to be praised, so shall I be saved from my enemies.”

If we will see His salvation when we call, we must understand what His will is concerning what we may be calling Him to do.

That is why hearing from God before talking to God comes in. Many do not understand that the most effective prayer is prayed after one has heard from the LORD.

When the LORD speaks before we speak to Him, He brings an understanding of what His will is concerning the situation we may want Him to bring under His control. When the understanding comes, we can then stand in prayer and bring His kingdom, power and glory down to put things under His control.

The Bible says;

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.

And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15 NKJV

Understanding what the will of the LORD is before praying, hastens answers to prayers. It injects an uncommon faith that brings answers to prayers in the speed of the light and understanding that came – the speed of divine illumination and comprehension.

If the content of our prayer is not born out of our knowledge of GOD’s will for a situation, it will not generate tremendous power. We must deliberately develop the righteous habit of opening our Bibles to understand what God says about what you may be going through, before storming His gates with loud prayers.

The Bible says;

“In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider: Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other, So that man can find out nothing that will come after him.” Ecclesiastes 7:14 NKJV

THE BIBLE DID NOT SAY IN THE DAY OF ADVERSITY STORM THE GATES OF HEAVEN WITH PRAYERS.

It says in the day of adversity, consider.

One of the major things to consider is what the will of the LORD is concerning the adversity you may want to Him to bring under control. People who will not sit down first with the LORD, to know what He may be saying, showing, or prompting about what they may be facing, will pray prayers that will not bring results.

We must first learn to sit with the LORD to hear, before kneeling before Him to pray. That is the first protocol to observe if you want to bring anything under divine control.

As you begin to grow in the faith, you will come to the place of understanding that no adversity can be brought under divine control by prayer, except one stand in the knowledge of God’s immediate present will for the given situation to pray. That is why Jesus did not pray for everyone He saw.

When He was here in the flesh, He waited for the revelation of God’s immediate present will to guide Him for each case before opening His mouth in prayer of command, to speak to them, or to speak with the Father concerning them. He said in His word;

….“Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. John 5:19 NKJV

Meaning, it is what He saw the Father do in each case that guided Him in prayer. That was why all He touch with His prayer power were healed or delivered.

The Bible said,

“He casted out demons with His word, and Healed all that were sick.”

Those who not words that came out of Him. They were words the Father breath into His ears.

If we allow the Father to breath words, visions, or promptings of His Spirit into our hearts before we pray, we will always make tremendous power available through prayer. It is People who do not practice this simple principle that pray prayers that lack the power to bring things that are under demonic control to God’s control.

JESUS SAID IN ANOTHER PLACE;

“ I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me. John 5:30 NKJV

In the realm of righteous prayers, we do not seek our own will to be done, but the Father’s.

That is one simple truth many of us do not know.

No matter what you are going through, or what may be facing you, your will, or desire, is not what you should pray into the situation.

In fact, the situation may go from bad to worse if your will is what you are praying into the situation. The rule that governs any prayer that Heaven will hear remains, “Your Kingdom come; your will be done on earth” period!

Now, if you do not know the will of GOD for the situation you want GOD to bring under control, you will be praying your will or any other will apart from GOD’s into the situation. That is why you must first sit with the Spirit of the LORD and the word of the LORD, to find out what God’s will is concerning a given situation before taking it up to Him in prayer.

To bring adverse situations under divine control, we are to pray the will of the LORD into the situation. It is the will of the LORD that we pray into a situation that will unlock the Heavenly power that will be required to bring the situation under divine control. Our prayers are to focus on having God’s will done by praying it into the situation.

The will of God that we pray into a situation will neutralize the demonic in the situation and bring it completely under control. The next step to take to bring a situation under God’s control on the prayer knee is to understand the promises of God concerning the situation.

Most times, the will of God for a situation is understood when we understand God’s promises concerning the situation.

The reason is simple; the promises of GOD, most times contains the revelation of His will, so when we discover His promises concerning what we may be facing or going through, we can get a glimpse of what His will is, and stand on it to pray.

You may never be able to bring an adverse situation under control until that is understood as well. Tomorrow we will pick up from there!

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!

“Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.

For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.

For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.

For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. John 5:19-23 NKJV
