THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 13TH MAY 2022)

“Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.

And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.

Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.” Acts 4:32-35 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 133RD DAY OF OUR YEAR OF AMAZING GRACE

It has indeed been God’s amazing Grace galore. We have seen abundance of it these 133 days. It is out of the abundance of all He does and have been doing that we are alive. To Him be the glory!

Everything in God and everything God does is usually done abundantly. For instance, He gives life abundantly. Jesus said, “the thief comes to steal, to kill and to destroy; but I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.” Everything in GOD and everything he does is done abundantly.

If you look at creation, the seas and its creatures, the air and all that fly in it, the soil and all that live in it, you will easily tell that our God does not know how to minimize whatever He creates or does or gives. On this side of eternity, God gives everything abundantly except one. Yes, except one.

The Only thing God does not give abundantly, the only thing He minimizes is punishment or judgment.

He will never give anyone abundant judgement or punishment no matter what they do. It will just be according to our deeds. If He gives us abundantly (the way He gives blessings and other things abundantly) there will be no human in existence.

God’s punishment and judgment comes according to man’s deeds not according to His greatness. But His mercies, favor, blessings, power, love, compassion, teachings, life, grace, wealth, peace, health and etc. are released to us according to His greatness. That is why they come abundantly.

There is an aspect of practical Christianity that you will never live until you come to this revelation. You must understand that Whatever the true GOD gives a man comes to him according to GOD’s greatness not the size of the man.

THAT IS WHY WHAT GOD GIVES CAN BE OVERWHELMING.

For instance, shortly after the first lock down, where we use for worship became extremely too small and we began to look for a bigger place.

In fact, the prophecy God gave me when we first came to where we are leaving now, (680 Hotel, Kenyatta Avenue Nairobi), was fulfilled. The covid-19 lock-downs brought in a lot of end time harvest into the ministry that fulfilled the prophecy.

The prophecy came to me during one of those 2014 personal prayer time for ministry success and growth. I remember GOD saying to me; “The children you will have, after you have lost the others, will say again in your ears, ‘The place is too small for me; Give me a place where I may dwell.’ He spoke to me that day from the book of Isaiah.

So, when sons and daughters began to say to my ears, “this place is too small for us” it dawned on me that it was time to move, but the question was to where? Each service became very Uncomfortable for the people that LORD brought. It got me worried and desperate, which was very wrong.

So, in a bid to find a place, we ran into problems with some greedy old man who took money from us but refused us access to the property he claims was his. But thank God for God and the law enforcement agents.

After the ordeal, we had to retreated and forget about looking for a place, but prayer was ongoing.

I realized more than before the need to place a demand on the altar of God in Heaven, calling on He who said “the earth belongs to Him” more intently because it became clear that the devil was at work, and will not like us to have a place.

Then God moved. We got two places almost at once. The first one was great, well fitted for us, excellent and large enough but the owner was not willing to give us. The second was also good but so large that I had to run away at first thinking it was bigger than us, but the owner was willing to give us.

Time passed and positive things happened and kept happening because meetings were held outside Africa to finally release the large place to us.

I WILL COMPLETE THE TESTIMONY ON THE 22ND MAY 2022 WHEN WE WILL BE HAVING OUR FIRST SERVICE IN THE NEW PLACE.

Then you will know which one we finally settle for. This Sunday, the 15th day of May 2022 will be our last service at 680 Hotel Kenya Avenue. We have cleared our bill with them and are leaving debt free. To GOD be the glory!

Our new venue is at Mombasa Road Nairobi Kenya. It is indeed a prepared place. Getting such a place just before the president commission the New Expressway there, proves how God works.

The exact location of the New Place of worship on Mombasa Road will be communicated from next week.

So, from Sunday 22 May 2022, do not go to 680 Hotel Kenyatta avenue looking for us. You will find only the evidence of our previous use, you will not find us. Let no one deceive you by holding a service there claiming to be us. In the words of the angel who spoke the day Jesus resurrected, I will say “We are no longer there, we have risen!”

The LORD will touch you with His resurrection power as you join us in the new venue from Sunday 22nd May, 2022. Whatever good thing that has died in your life, will come back to life in Jesus precious name.

A portion of our devotional text says;

“And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.” Acts 4:33 NKJV

God Himself will be present in us to give witness to the resurrection of the LORD in your life as you join us in our new venue. He will do great things in your life by His great grace that will be present with us there always.

I shared all these to say GOD gives things to us according to His excellence and greatness not according to our smallness. He supplies our needs according to His riches in glory. That means, according to His size, not our size.

FRIEND IT PAYS TO SERVE JESUS.

If you are serving the LORD and are asking GOD for something, especially according to His will, you better be ready, because what will come will be overwhelming. It will be according to His greatness not your smallness. So, do not plan, small plan great.

Understand that when God finally comes, He will increase your greatness and comfort you on every side. So, make big plans even as you pray. Expand your mental capacity to receive and to retain.

David said;

“Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side. I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.

My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.” Psalm 71:21-23 KJV

God does not minimize things when releasing them to us. He does not minimize His blessings, Kindness, love, compassion, anointing, graces, healings, wealth and etc. In fact, His Holy Spirit is poured upon us beyond measure, that is why we cannot stand sometimes and even if we manage to stand, the impact remains for a life time.

We have been with the Cry of the Spirit on practical Christianity; one of the things you must understand about the Cry is that practical Christianity involves enjoying the best of GOD or what He offers abundantly. It involves knowing how He blesses His own and going all out for it in faith.

It will shape your prayer life beautifully and improve your spiritual perception of what to expect after prayers.

Our full devotional text says;

IF YOU LOOK AT THIS SCRIPTURE CLOSELY, YOU WILL FIND THE GREATNESS OF GOD ON DISPLAY, EVEN IN THE EARLY CHURCH.

You will find out that God does not release small things to His own. He does not bless any according to their size. He blesses them according to His size. You will find great power, great grace, and great wealth all in one Church. You will find the Cry of the Spirit on this aspect of practical Christianity enshrined in their lives.

And let me make something clear; What they had in terms of economic power was not the prosperity of the wicked that many churches celebrate today. What they had was not a wealth that makes one says “I am rich” meanwhile the people or church are blind, naked, wretched, poor and dead in the Spirit.

What they had was the prosperity of the righteous that comes according to the greatness of God, not the size of a people. That is what we should be looking up to when dealing with God on money matters.

The Bible says;

“Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.” Acts 4:35 NKJV

This scripture proves they were in supper abundance. God blessed them according to His size. He did not minimize the wealth they had. That was why there was no one who lacked among them.

Prophetically, that is where we are going to as an end time Church; where no one will lack. But this time around, it will not be by communism or socialism the way it was with them, but by the Spirit of the living God making a little one among us a thousand, and a small one among us a strong nation through capitalism.

But there are two things I want to point out here as we bring this to a close. The first is the purpose of the measurement of what God gives us, the second is the error peddled by greedy preachers who stand on some of the verses in the scripture of our devotional text to steal.

LET ME BEGIN WITH THE SECOND.

There are preaches who stand on the phrase “apostle’s feet” to request that offerings be placed on their feet so that the people can be blessed. Well, that is charismatic robbery. So many gullible people have been robbed of their lands, cars, monies, clothes shoes, wrist watches and etc. by these bandits called prophets, apostles, pastors, Bishops, arch-bishops and etc.

Some of them are true men of GOD who do these deceptive things, and because they are true people believe them.

I have said before that the most dangerous man of God is a true man of God who does false things. A true man of God who teaches you to raise, break and silence altars, use oil in prayer, use water and sand to pray or sow this seed or that seed to get this miracle and that miracle. He will be more effective in the hand of the spirit of error because people believe in him.

Do not give your monies to any preacher who says you should place something at his feet or who walks on what God’s people have given. They are rubbishing your economic life. You may get a miracle and laugh at first but will cry at last.

You can see that even in the portion of our devotional text mentioned above. He released great power to the early church not minimized power. Great grace, and not minimized grace, was upon them all. That is the nature of our GOD.

The next thing I want to share is the purpose behind the measurement of what gives us. Why does God give us things according to His size? Why does He give us things in abundance or according to His greatness? A portion of our devotional text says;

“Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.” Acts 4:32 NKJV

GOD BLESSES US ACCORDING TO HIS GREATNESS SO THAT WE CAN DO THINGS THAT ARE BEYOND US.

The most important thing to God is the salvation of souls. He wants us filled with what He releases beyond measure so that we can bring great multitudes into His kingdom.

His gave the early Church great power, great grace, and great wealth so that they can get great multitudes into the kingdom. It was as if God stood in their lives, in all of His redemptive glory, to reap the ancient world into His Kingdom, resulting in great power, great grace and great wealth, in their lives.

God blessed us according to His size, so that we can bring people into His kingdom according to His size. That is why He said we should ask Him for the nations. He blesses us according to His size, not just for us to reap individuals into His kingdom, but for us to reap nations into His kingdom.

There are churches in so many nations that are full of lost souls that seem saved. These churches need Christ and only an apostolic people blessed according GOD’s size can take Him there. There are souls in so many nations that have refused to have anything to do with the LORD. They need to be reaped into the kingdom with operational blessings that are released according to God’s size.

This great Harvest (both in the church and the world) is the reason God blessed us according to His size. If we will ask Him for the nations, for the purpose of reaping them into the kingdom, He will bring us to the blessings, again and again over time.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!

“I will declare the decree: The LORD has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.

Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession. You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”

Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him. Psalm 2:7-12 NKJV
