THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (FRIDAY 17TH JUNE 2022)

“So, the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood.

But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.

And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:15-17 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 168TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF AMAZING GRACE

This is another day the LORD has made. We shall rejoice and be glad in it. The mercies of the LORD have kept us and His goodness has caused our lives to shine and blossom.

Indeed, how great is His goodness stored up for those who fear Him. No end to the compassion that comes to us each day. Daily He have been loading us with benefits and that has made us who we are today. His mercies in our lives are the reason for our being alive. The Bible says,

“Who is a God like You, who forgives iniquity and passes over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He retains not His anger forever, because He delights in mercy and loving-kindness.” Micah 7:18 AMPC

He never gets tired of being kind to a people who do not deserve it. He never gets tired of healing the sick body of even the rebellious just to tell them, “I love nevertheless, come back to me.” He never gets tired of causing His rain to fall on the righteous and the wicked.

He never gets tired of forgiving our sins even as He looks forward to bringing us to the place of sinning no more. He never gets tired of looking up to a glorious ending for us, though often He is disappointed by our carnal desires that has often hindered us from glorious endings in time and eternity.

He never gets tired of blessing us. He never gets tired of waking us up in the morning and guiding us through the day and bringing us safely to bed at night. He never gets tired of assigning His angels to watch over us. He never gets tired of satisfying our mouths with good things and renewing our youth like the eagle.

He never gets tired of loving us and filling us with His presence. He never gets tired of releasing His grace upon our lives. He never gets tired of disappointing the craftiness of our enemies so that their hands do not perform their enterprise.

HE NEVER GETS TIRED OF SENDING A WORD IN SEASON TO US.

He never gets tired of working in our favor and fighting our battles. He never gets tired of frustrating the counsels of the wicked and returning their wickedness on their own head. He never gets tired of frustrating the tokens of liar and making diviners mad so that we can separate from them and save our souls.

We have been looking at the Cry of the Holy Spirit on fear and today is the 17th day of our 30-day journey of faith. God has spoken to us dearly and impactfully. I grew up to discover that one of the ways to stay bold in faith and not give in to fear is to know what GOD can not be tired of doing.

For instance, in other not to give in to the fear of GOD not accepting you back after you have sinned and done so many bad things, you must understand that GOD cannot be tired of forgiving us on this side of eternity once we repent. The Bible says;

“For if you return to the Lord, your brethren and your children shall find compassion with their captors and return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and He will not turn away His face from you if you return to Him.” 2 Chronicles 30:9 AMPC

This scripture is very clear. The key to tapping into the fountain of God’s mercies is returning to Him. He made it clear that if we return to Him, He will return to us.

If we return to Him with our sins and sorrows, He will return to us with His mercies and blessings to deal with our sins and sorrows. That should give you hope and take away the fear and doubts of being accepted if you return. The only people who will be roasted by the consequences of their sins are people who will not return.

Indeed, who is like GOD who forgives iniquity and passes of the remnant of His heritage? That is why you lose a lot if you do not have Him as your Judge, your lawgiver and your King.

YOU CANNOT APPROACH HIM AND NOT RECEIVE MERCY FROM HIM.

He delights in having His erring Sons and daughters back to the family after a time of departing from Him. So, He never gets tired of forgiving us and also never gets tired of allowing the wickedness of those who refuse to return back after a long time of waiting for them to correct them with serious blows. Yes, He never gets tired of that too.

Isaiah said,

“My soul yearns for You [O Lord] in the night, yes, my spirit within me seeks You earnestly; for [only] when Your judgments are in the earth will the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness (uprightness and right standing with God).

Though favor is shown to the wicked, yet they do not learn righteousness; in the land of uprightness they deal perversely and refuse to see the majesty of the Lord.” Isaiah 26:9-10 AMPC

There is a generation that will never return to the LORD no matter how much mercy He shows them; they will just keep being wicked. To this generation, God will never get tired of chastising and pouring the consequences of their sins upon them. Do not forget, He is the judge of the earth.

Sadly, so many have made themselves part of the generation. Like the four wicked generation in the book of proverbs, some of them ended here because they are wise in their own eyes making it impossible for God to cleansed them of their iniquity and lawlessness. The Bible says;

“There is a generation that curses its father, and does not bless its mother. There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, yet is not washed from its filthiness.” Proverbs 30:11-12 NKJV

This scripture began by telling us how not to treat our parents. I know someone will extend it to spiritual parents also. Well, we may do that but the scripture is primarily talking about Biological parents. If you are still untainted, you will never curse your father or cease to bless your Mother.

And if we are to extend it to spiritual parenting then it is important to know who your spiritual father really is so that you will not honor the wrong person and get death instead of life like the young prophet from Judah in 1 Kings 13.

So, the scripture began by telling us how not to treat our parents, and ended up with secrets behind the lack of repentance of some and the grandstanding of others, when it comes to living right and doing the right things.

THEN IT PRESENTED TO US WHY SOME WILL NEVER STOP THE BAD THINGS THEY ARE DOING;

The reason lies in being pure in their own eyes. And God will also not get tired of rebuking and calling them to order.

That reminds me of the users of oil who have become pure in their own eyes, and will never stop using it because of the revenue or relevance they get through it. It makes them pure in their own eyes even when people are dying and the kingdom of God is being tainted.

And God will never get tired of rebuking their rebellion and making sure the next generation get it right.

Yes, if you will walk in boldness, you must walk in the revelation of the things that God never gets tired of doing.

He never gets tired of making sure the rod of the wicked do not rest upon the righteous so that their hands will not be stretch forth unto iniquity. So, we must not cave in to fear because our boast is in His name. He never gets tired of protecting the integrity of His name, so we should not give in to fear when the name of the LORD is being desecrated.

God will never get tired of sweeping away the refuse of lies coming out like a flood from the mouth of the dragon against His elects.

Understand that We are in constant battle with hell and that will never stop until the consummation of all things. But our God never gets tired of saving us!

One of the things that will be happening this end time from the kingdom of the dragon is the release of floods of lies, error, intimidation, threats and attacks from his mouth to us. But we should not forget that our God will never be tired saving us.

OUR DEVOTIONAL TEXT SAYS;

From this scripture it is clear that God will not be tired of causing the earth to open up its mouth to swallow the flood of the dragon.

He always has secret servants at our disposal to speak or fight for us wherever we go. I have seen that in my over 30 years of ministry. God will not be tired of having such sons of peace standing at strategic places for us.

He will not be tired of sweeping the refuge of lies that the flood of the dragon builds to prosper the purposes of the evil one against us. He will not be tired of making sure the earth opens its mouth to swallow any kind of flood from his mouth. That is one major thing we should know our God will not be tired of. Hallelujah!

As we bring this to a close, I want to say something about the last verse of our devotional text. It says;

“And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:17 NKJV

This scripture tells us why life becomes difficult whenever you decide to keep the commandments of GOD as one with the Testimony of Christ, even within the Church circles.

You get the dragon angry and he moves against you using anything he can find; your lack of education, or your education, your scars in life or those around you (even a preacher, especially if he or she is not holding on to the Testimony of Christ; because so many are not).

Because of this constant battle with the dragon, it is important to note that being a true Christian is not cheap, that is why many are false believers. You will face the anger of the dragon if you decide to become a true follower of Christ.

You see, Satan will have no problem with you if you are a preacher, prayer warrior, church worker, faithful giver, church planter etc. so long as you are travelling in the same direction with him. But as soon as you change directions, he will move against you.

God’s will is that we travel in opposite directions with him, no matter the cost. We are not expected to be afraid of what we may suffer but be prepared. Because the sufferings he will unleash upon us is allowed to help us in the next life.

Our bible father apostle Paul, said “the afflictions are working for us a far more exceeding weight of glory.” That is why we will not have the same glory when we get to the next life.

So, hang on there and fear not! There are things God will not be tired of doing. Keeping you through, and watching over you l, until you make it to Heaven l, is one of them.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!

“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 NKJV
