TODAY’S DEVOTION (Saturday 22nd February 2020)
“Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 53rd DAY OF OUR YEAR OF REJOICING
One of the major weakness we have is our inability to properly communicate what God is doing among us at the Cry of the Spirit Ministries here in Nairobi. The depth of revelation Heaven pours on us, the type of glory we see, and the outpouring we experience especially in our Monthly Summits; there are usually no words to thoroughly explain the moves of God among us.
We are having our first apostolic summit in 2020 – the Deep Impact Apostolic Summit (DIAS 2020). I remember God saying to us last year and recently this year, that all He will do in our lives will be a foundation for the next ten years. The depth of what He is pouring on us testifies!
Yesterday was amazing. I felt Heaven literary siting over my souls and pouring truth upon truth upon truth. It was so interesting that I never wanted to close the service. It was move we have never experienced before and a depth we have never seen. Things you will never find in any book on earth except the book of Prophecy! If you are not in these meetings, trust me, you are missing something everlasting.
TODAY GOD HAS A WORD FOR US!
In the kingdom of GOD, we do not expect what God did not originally create. Though people do have a bad week, God did not originally create a bad week. So do not expect one.
But why do bad things happen in weeks God created to be very good? Why do people die while God created us to live forever? Why do people get sick while God created mankind to be healthy and strong?
Why are people due for marriage and it’s not forth coming? Why are people married and yet there is no Child? And no goat has ever gone to a prayer service to be able to conceive. Why is man the greatest victim of evil?
Why are people poor while mankind was not created poor? In fact, we were originally planted in a Garden that had gold flowing from certain rivers God made to flow in it. But why do bad things happen while in the beginning it was not so?
Our devotionals have given answers to the reason all this is. The fall of man changed everything in humanity. But there is something the fall really took that made all the evil possible – it took the instrument God gave men to using in surviving the earth – DOMINION.
Our devotional text said, “Let them have dominion over.” Hidden in this statement is the instrument of survival God gave to man. Mankind was created to have dominion over all other created and even fallen things because he was a Son (or offspring) of God.
THE WORD DOMINION CONNOTES KINGDOM, POWER, CONTROL, AUTHORITY, TERRITORY, COMMAND, DOMINANCE ETC.
Prophetically speaking, DOMINION was a product of “An extension of God’s Kingdom from Heaven to earth.” In other words, man was the regent of God on earth; operating with a supernatural power and authority from Heaven that placed everything under his command on earth. But sin and Satan changed everything and made him a victim.
However, God manifested in Christ Jesus, became a man and died on the cross to redeem man back to the original state.
That is why today, when the Kingdom of God extends from Heaven to earth either in a Church service, during fellowship with other believers, or through a minister of the gospel, it will restore man back to the control room. It will hand over dominion back to man. Hallelujah!
For instance, in the days of the Bible, when the King Himself was physically on earth, His primary assignment was the restoration of dominion lost. He met a man with no dominion over his sight, resulting in blindness. Then He asked him “What do you want me to do for you?” The man responded, “that I may see.” Then Jesus reached out and restored the man’s dominion over his sight.
He met another with no dominion over premature death. He had been dead for four days and was even buried. But his sisters were in great pain. And this man was a friend of Jesus.
Then one of the sisters, who knew Jesus well, said to Him “Master if you were here my brother would not have died.” She made the statement because she has seen him restore dominion over sickness to people – all kinds of sicknesses – leading to their healing. But Jesus said to her, it’s not late. Your brother will live again. But she, not understanding the moments that had come upon her, responded “Yes, he will live but on the resurrection day.”
SHE WAS REFERRING TO A FUTURISTIC EVEN TAUGHT IN THE BIBLE THAT WILL INDEED TAKE PLACE. THANK GOD THEY EVEN KNEW IT IN JUDAISM.
However, the response Jesus gave to her thought was revealing. Jesus said to her “I am the resurrection and life. He that believe in me, though He were dead yet shall he live.”
That was profound! It tore a veil from her heart.
While she was talking about the future, Jesus was talking about the present. Suddenly the woman knew “resurrection was not a Day but a person.” It is the person that makes the day a Day of resurrection. Jesus was and is still the Resurrection and the Life. Hallelujah!
That day dominion over premature death was restored to the dead man and he came out of the grave alive. Jesus literally called him, and he responded by coming back to life. There are voices, and there are voices. Only the voice of the LORD can change things positively in the lives of men. The Bible says it is full of power. It has capacity to transmit dominion over every created thing into man.
If you lack dominion in an area of life, the voice of the LORD is the only force that can restore it back to you.
If you are sick, you need dominion over that illness. If you are poor, you need dominion over lack and poverty. Poverty is always as a result of power failure. When God’s power and dominion over lack is absent in a man’s economic life he will become poor over time. Dominion is therefore the missing ingredient in the life of the poor.
It is the missing ingredient in the life of the sick, the depressed, the oppressed, and the like. It is the missing ingredient in the life of those who are due for marriage but it’s not forth coming, due for promotion but it’s not forth coming, due for Children but they are not forth coming, due for glorious things but they are still stuck to the gory.
DOMINION AND POWER FROM HEAVEN ARE THE INGREDIENTS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE COMPLETELY!
If you don’t have God’s given dominion or power in your life, you will be dominated by the bad. Dominion is our survival and success instrument on earth. If you lack it, survival will become a difficult thing and success in every area of life the hardest thing to find.
The voice of the LORD is God’s instrument for restoring dominion back to man. Seek His voice from the pages of the scriptures by sitting down to study the Bible.
People who do not study their Bibles will never rise in dominion. People, who just run after prophets instead of sitting down with the written word of the LORD until they contact the spoken word, will never step into dominion in the spirit. They will be exploited and dominated!
That is why I encourage Christians to run after the prophetic word and every man of God who will sit them down to teach them the real word of the LORD, not stories. You will never walk in true dominion till you encounter the real word of the LORD concerning the area of your life in need of dominion.
What is God saying about your marriage? What is He saying about your finances? What is He saying about the enemy that oppresses you? What is He saying about what the devil may be saying to you? What is God saying about your Childlessness? What is God saying about that hidden sin devouring your Holiness?
Until you encounter the true voice of the LORD in that area of life, you will lack dominion in that area. Enough of inspirational words as good as they are, they do not bring a permanent solution. That is why they get us excited but when we turn back into our lives, the reality is still there – no dominion over that sickness, that marital problem, that financial situation, that spiritual attack etc.
Friend, this is the time to sit down to encounter the transformation word of the LORD ordained for our glory before the world began. This is time to sit down with God to reason with Him by studying the word, to come out of that situation.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8 NKJV
