THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Monday 24TH August 2020)

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Proverbs 17:15-17 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 235TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF REJOICING

Glory be to the LORD God for giving us another glorious day to live, do His blessed will and serve our generation according to His will. The Bible says daily, the LORD loads us with benefits. We believe the benefit of today will not elude us in Jesus precious name.

God delights that we live a life that glorify Him. But He knows, we cannot glorify Him until He glorify us by raising us up for Himself. He has so many assets in His kingdom that can help us to achieve His goals for our lives, especially the goal of glorifying us so that we may glorify Him.

Today we will be looking at one of those kingdom assets laid up for us among the sons of men.

To start with, I want to submit to you that, if the enemy want to make your life miserable, he may not need to surround you with demons, though that can very terrible; he just needs to surround you with the wrong people.

On the flip side of the coin, if God want to fill your life with good, He will either surround you with right people or give you one right person that will mean so all to you in life.

One of the greatest assets God will ever give us, for the purpose of glorifying us, so that we may in turn glorify Him is Right People.

Men and even devils, have spoken to us about having relationships; books have spoken, seminars have spoken, motivational speakers have done their bid, now it’s time to tune our ears to the God of Heaven and earth and let Him speak to us about this important asset of life.

Most people are in crisis today in relationship matters simply because they followed what men wrote or said about the kind of relationship, they find themselves instead of what GOD teaches about it.

No one has ever followed what God said about anything without coming out well. There is a lot in the scriptures about relationships.

Personally, I have come to discover that whenever God want to change our season He will move in fresh people into our lives and sometimes move out the ones that have been there.

You will also find out that whenever God brings a man or woman we truly need into our lives, Satan will come in swiftly, using any language that gets the most of our attention, especially dream language, to generating crisis between us and such people.

SATAN HATES SEEING A GREAT DESTINY IN RELATIONSHIP WITH THE VERY PERSON IT NEEDS TO BE FULFILLED.

Sadly, so many find themselves cooperating with him to destroy their relationship with those the LORD sent to help them. Thereby, preventing the LORD from using this unique kingdom asset to unleash things into their lives, and change their seasons from glory to glory.

God has never used animals to change the season of His Children. He has always used people.

For instance, one Moses that stepped into the lives of a nation that have been in slavery for 400 years move them from a season of slavery to that of liberty. One Elijah that stepped into the life of Elisha, moved him from a season of being a successful mechanized farmer to becoming a terrific prophet of God.

We can go on and on!

The Holy Bible is full of people who stepped into the lives of others and changed their seasons thereby changing their lives. Yes, people like Esther, Mordecai, and David did so much in the lives of others when God planted them into their lives.

Esther changed the destiny of the Jews in a foreign land. Mordechai impacted the lives of both Esther and the king he was serving at that time. David changed the entire narrative on warfare by delivering his nation from the venom of Goliath with just a sling and s stone.

In the journey of life, we would need God given personalities like them to make significant impact in our lives and move us forward in His plans and purposes for our lives.

Someone reading this has been stagnant for too long and God want to bring a change. That change most times may not come by might or by power but by His Spirit, bringing eventful personalities into our lives.

If you have stayed too long at a particular spot in your life, God would have to bring one right person into your life to generate the kingdom forces you need to move into His next season for you. If you need discipline, He may have to bring someone to give you that. If you need finances, He will bring someone to give you.

WHATEVER YOU MAY HAVE BEEN LACKING, THAT MAY HAVE KEPT YOU AT ONE SPOT, SUCH A PERSON WILL BE USED BY HIM TO BRING IT INTO YOUR LIFE.

Most times people are backward, not because they do not have money. Money does not always translate into success. They are backward because they lack that which is more than money. Friend, there are things in life that are more important than money. Those are the things that God may sometimes, bring some one into your life to add to you.

If you take financial empowerment as the ultimate reason of having right relationships in Your lives, you will miss greater blessings in GOD.

Again, let me reaffirm that there are things God bring right relationships to put into our live that are far greater than money. Elisha never needed money to be what God called him to be. He just needed an Elijah. Esther never needed money to be queen. He just needed a Mordechai. David never needed money to gain notoriety by killing Goliath and becoming king over time. He just needed a Samuel.

Money is not always the reason for relationship, because the greatest things God has buried in your life will not need money to be actualize. They will need God given personalities to be actualized.

Our devotional text today is short but loaded with divine wisdom on having the right person in your life. It says,

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” Proverbs 17:15-17 NKJV

There are other translations of this verse that I would have loved to bring on board, but I will stick to this because of its clarity. It says a brother is born for adversity. Meaning, with the right people or person in my life, adversity will never consume me. The opposite of it will always happen.

You will always find people who are not your blood relatives more helpful to you then those who are. Wisdom demands you treat them with utmost respect and value.

Sadly, most times we do not. We rather allow tribal or nationality sentiments to rob us of this golden rule. People who have stepped that low have never achieved significantly in life.

You will never get what the LORD plant such people to do in your life done if you treat them less. If you have the character or exalting or treating your unhelpful blood relatives or nationals better than those the LORD raised for you, you will always lose a lot.

THIS SCRIPTURE CAN BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY;

“Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.

The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. “Lift up your eyes all around, and see: They all gather together, they come to you; your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be nursed at your side.

Then you shall see and become radiant, and your heart shall swell with joy; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you.” Isaiah 60:1-5 NKJV
