THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Thursday 15th July 2021)

“The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”

The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of Your enemies! Psalms 110:1-2 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 196TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS!

There are places to sit in God for Him to make our enemies our footstool. Until we locate such places and take our seats there, our enemies will never be made our footstool. Consequently, we will never have rest from them.

Yes, it will be a bright and beautiful day today and the God of peace will fill our hearts with His peace. I believe with the whole of my heart, the words of David; This is the day the LORD has made!! Either the devil or his family members likes it or not, under God, we shall rejoice and be glad in it.

Through this platform the LORD have been feeding us with amazing spiritual diets. He has proved to us over and over that, man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God, especially in an immediate present.

If you live by words that proceed from your own mouth, you will be in trouble. You can go ask some who are in spiritual prisons and satanic afflictions for wrong use of words, and they will tell you.

Except the heart of a man is sanctified by the word of truth and righteousness, every word that proceeds from his mouth will cause him troubles.

The Bible says;

“Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Who is the man who desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good?

Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit. Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.” Psalm 34:11-14 NKJV

Many are in trouble today because of what proceeded out of their mouths yesterday. This scripture is very clear on the curses and problems one creates for themselves for not watching their mouths.

It’s Important that we learn how to think before saying anything. We must desist from saying everything before going to sit down to think of what we may have said. You may end up sitting in the pool of the consequences of your words doing that.

NOW, THERE ARE TIMES THAT WE ARE NOT DESTROYED BY WHAT COMES OUT OF OUR MOUTHS, BUT THE MOUTHS OF OTHERS.

There are those who have used their mouths to blackmail, lie against others, manufacture untrue things and present them as true to destroy others, leaving their victims in tears and sorrow. There are also those who know how to cover up deceit with their lips. All these may not speak against perpetrators in time, but will definitely do in eternity.

The Bible says if we desire life, and love many days, that we may see good, we should not just pray about it but Keep our tongues from evil, and our lips from speaking deceit. No matter the kind of prayer we may be doing, if we do not follow this word, we will be doomed or damned.

There is also the part where things come out of specialist about our health or economic situations. The Bible says we should not live by them but by what comes out of the mouth of the LORD; that is if we are in covenant with the LORD.

Specialist tell us the facts, but God tell us the truth. The truth remains, one in covenant relationship with the LORD should be careful of what they believe or hear from specialists.

For example, if you chose to live by bad facts that proceed from the mouth of doctors to you about your health, you will be stressed. The doctor may want to help with accurate facts but only God holds the truth about any aspect of our lives.

There is also a class of those who may mean well but are not in tune with the Holy Ghost. In this class you find some loving parents, spouses, children, teachers, bosom friends, business partners and sometimes preachers, fellow Christians, and etc.

Child of God, there will always come a time when you must separate between good ideas and God ideas in dealing with the issues of life.

Except God use them as a prophetic hearing aid, if you live by what proceed from the mouth of those who truly care but know nothing about your walk and talk with the LORD, it could help you for a season, but cannot help you in the day of war.

IT IS PARTLY BECAUSE OF THIS THAT JESUS SAID;

“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.” Matthew 10:37-39 NKJV

There is need to respect our fathers, mothers and those who love us, but we must know where to draw the line. They must not be placed above the LORD. It will ruin our chances with the LORD, especially when we enter into trouble.

Living by every word that proceed from those who love you on earth, especially if it runs contrary to the word, ways or will of the one who love you living in Heaven, will shut the gates of divine help against us.

There is another set of people we must not live by what proceed out of their mouths; people who are bitter or aggrieved at us unjustly. If we live by their words, it could destroy us.

I have found many believers stagnant in life for this alone. They allow their hearts to be filled with words from those who do not like them. Please block any access such people may have to your soul else they will keep sending those and killing you slowly.

If you spend your days according to what proceeds from the mouth of people who offended you and refused to apologize, or those who hate you unjustly you will never have peace. In fact, you could go down while they go up!

God wants us to spend our days according to what proceeds out of His mouth not what comes out of the mouth of those who make themselves our enemies.

Talking about enemies, a man of God once said

“if you do not have enemies, you are an imbecile. Only fools and worthless people do not have enemies.”

That made a lot of sense to me and calmed me down in life. When God called Abraham, the first blessing that He spoke into his life was protection against his enemies. He knew significant people will have very aggressive enemies.

HE SAID TO HIM, “I WILL BLESS THOSE THAT BLESS YOU, AND CURSE THOSE WHO CURSE YOU.”

That was to take away the responsibility of fighting enemies from Abraham to Himself. Yes, our enemies should not be a concern to us but to God. The Bible says if we walk before Him in obedience and total submission to His will, He will be an enemy to our enemies and an adversary to our adversaries. It is when we do not do that that we must be the one securing ourselves form our enemies.

If you want to be valuable to God, then get set for enemies. You will not be able to walk without having them trailing you. Believe it or not, there are people who want you dead this very moment but only God knows them. You may not!

There are those who want your marriage or spouse dead so that they marry you. Yes, I met them in Kenya when I first came. They were seeing visions that suggest they wanted my marriage dead so they can marry me. It was unbelievable. I have never seen that before; and these guys were in the ministry then.

People of destiny cannot do without enemies. You must come to terms with that! The reason why God wants us to leave them in His hands is to help us walk in love towards them. There are royal laws of love in God’s kingdom. They include the Royal Laws of praying for them, not wishing them what they wish us and etc.

Do not forget, Jesus said we should love our enemies. God Himself said, vengeance is His, not ours. God’s will for us is that our enemies do not prevail against us. Loving them will not make them prevail against us. It will rather hasten their judgment. The Bible says;

“[It is a fair decision] since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with distress and affliction those who distress and afflict you,” 2 Thessalonians 1:6 AMP

Hallelujah! That is exciting!!!

THIS SCRIPTURE IS TALKING ABOUT HUMAN ENEMIES NOT EVIL SPIRITS.

It makes it clear that it’s a righteous thing with God to repay with distress and affliction everyone who distress and afflict us; and He does it His own way not our own ways. That is why we do not need to pray against them. We only need to submit to the royal laws of love and remain intimate with the LORD.

As we remain intimate with Him, He will send decrees by the Hands of His Holy Spirit and release His holy angels to execute them in the lives of those who hate and attack us. God has said in His word that He will move marvelously against our enemies. I want you to believe that, and then move on with your life.

In one of those declarations and marvelous moves of God, the Psalmist said,

“The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him. The Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.” Psalms 37:32-33 NKJV

If you are in the hands of the wicked, God is saying to you this morning that He will not leave you in his hands or allow you to be condemned when you are judged.

Our devotional text today contains some truths and prophetic instructions to glean from to see God move marvelously in our battle against human enemies (though extended to evil spirits as well). The first says, “Sit at My right hand, till I make your enemies your footstool.”

That was a messianic declaration revealed to David.

The primary person it referred to was Christ, and then by extension to us; His redeemed ones. The truth here is, if you can locate the right hand of God’s will for your life, in every decision you want to take, and sit there, you will not have human or demonic enemies to deal with wherever you go. God will just be making them your footstool. The key to victory therefore lies in locating it in the spirit and governing your earthly life accordingly.

That is where the second scriptural verse in our devotional text comes in to help us. It says;

“The Lord shall send the rod of your strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies!”

ZION IS THE PROPHETIC NAME OF THE CHURCH.

That makes a Church service a unique place to be – a place to always receive strength to rule in the midst of our enemies. Sadly, most Church services cannot help us in this respect. That is why people go and return with no victory over their enemies.

There are certain graces God has positioned in the Church to bring the saints into this realm – the realm of sitting at God’s right hand until our earthly enemies are made our footstool. In the days of the early Church the two graces were the apostolic and prophetic graces. The Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers God raised in their days usually position themselves under the same graces to see the same blessing speak in their lives and ministries.

I have come to discover that the basic assignment of prophetic and apostolic ministries is to help us sense the place of God’s right hand in whatever you may want to do, and impart us with grace and truth to take our seat there for our enemies to become our footstool.

If you see your enemies prevailing against you therefore in whatever you may be doing, it’s a sign that you are yet to locate that place in your walk with God! You need to sit under apostolic and prophetic ministries by content, not by titles to find it.

Friend, God does not want your enemies prevailing against you. He wants to make them your footstool. You must understand that and take the proper spiritual position in the spirit to see it come to pass.

You won’t fail in Jesus precious name.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY;

“Do not fret because of evildoers, nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.”

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.”

“Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday.”

“Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret — it only causes harm. For evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.” Psalms 37:1-9 NKJV
