TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL (Saturday 4TH September 2021)
“The foolishness of a man twists his way, and his heart frets against the Lord.” Proverbs 19:3 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 247th DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS!
Today we will be refreshing our minds on the danger of personal foolishness. God has been so faithful to us this year and has given us more wisdom that we ever imagined exist in His kingdom. We give Him all the praise, adoration, honor and worship in Jesus precious name!
For many of us, because of the limited revelation in the Churches we once worshiped, we never knew there was more of God until He opened the chambers of His wisdom to us through the meetings we have been holding this year and through what he has been sharing with us on this platform.
The expulsion of foolishness has been God’s ultimate passion for us. That is why the Holy Spirit was sent.
Sadly, personal foolishness and its danger is one destructive force that all of us are usually comfortable with. That is why when people call us foolish because of the how really stupid we are, we get angry at them or become antagonistic towards them.
We just want to remain in our foolishness that has deceived us to be wisdom. So, we must talk about this silent killer today!
To start with, I want us to understand that foolishness is an enemy that everyone calls a friend and most times defend with all strength and zeal. Sometimes we even defended it before God, we become so wise in our own eyes.
Fighting for and protecting one’s foolishness has been a major hallmark of the lives of many.
Many of us sleep with our personal foolishness, carry it in our heads, allow it to fester in our reasoning, and make it our refuge sometimes. When a man becomes foolish most times he does not recognize it. That is why many fight for their personal foolishness.
They attack whoever speak a word to attack it, and try to resist whoever tries to replace it with wisdom.
COME TO THINK OF IT, SHOULD A MAN FIGHT TO PROTECT HIS KILLER?
Foolishness is one form of blindness that if you fight to protect will ruin your life and even kill you eventually. God is against we leaning on our own understanding because of the consequences of personal foolishness. The Bible says;
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.” Proverbs 3:5-8 NKJV
Leaning on our own understanding will make us wise in our own eyes. Becoming wise in our own eyes will put a blindness in our hearts.
The blindness that being wise in one’s own eyes brings can be very terrible. Imagine the generation of Noah that refused to listen to the voice of God’s mercy that was reaching out to them through the man of GOD. Their personal foolishness got them drawn in the flood.
The Bible made it clear that in the multitude of counselors there is safety. When God raise voices to speak to us there is safety. We must not begin to overestimate ourselves and under estimating them at that point.
Over estimation of self will make a man reject the counsel of the LORD.
When you see a man rejecting wise counsel, you have seen someone who will soon be caught in a snare of life or the trapping of the evil one. Rejecting wise counsel is a sign of personal foolish. And God does not want us to operate in personal foolishness. Therefore, He says:
“Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.” See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:14-16 NKJV
When you walk in wisdom you redeem the time. But when you walk in foolishness you waste precious time – especially time of visitations or glorious liftings from Heaven.
Apart from times of visitation and lifting, there is also the time we may have lost in life.
Sometimes one grow up in life sleeping through time, only to wake up at 60 years of age to start doing things he or she should have done at 25. Meaning, he or she is 35 years late.
IF YOU FIND YOURSELF IN SUCH A STATE, YOU WILL NEED THE MIRACLE OF REDEEMING THE TIME.
You will need to start walking in wisdom and cease walking in personal foolishness. Sometimes if God want to point your attention to this fact, He will begin to speak to you through dreams and visions. You will begin to see yourself sitting in your old primary school class or you see yourself being taken back to your village in dreams.
If you misinterpret it, you will twist His perfect plans for your life.
God do send those dreams to tell us that we are walking in personal foolishness, and that we need to wake up in life and begin to walk in Heavenly wisdom to redeem the time we have lost. We must therefore, wake up and start walking in wisdom so that we can redeem the time that we lost.
You see, the Bible calls our God “The all wise God.” Meaning, personal foolishness should not be part of the attributes of His children.
Personal foolishness is one thing that the book of proverbs strongly screams against; it is one life style it attacked severely, and one root cause of the problems of many in the body of Christ.
Most Children of God, especially those who claim to be either hearing or seeing from God are damn foolish. I have found them walking in real foolishness while speaking in tongues and frustrating the arm of the LORD. They have used their personal foolishness to make prayers powerless.
In a bid to get certain things in life, many key into some foolish acts that appear logical to them. You find many even applying the rod of foolishness in marriage matters.
Many do not now that it is foolish for a young lady to open her legs to any man who asks her to sleep with him because he wants to marry her.
YOU DO NOT SECURE A MARRIAGE PROPOSAL BY GIVING IN TO A MAN.
Your body is for that man who the LORD gave you to be the father of your Children not the one who wants you to secure his marriage proposal through sexual intercourse.
Most failed relationships failed because of the foolishness of trying to secure a marriage proposal through sexual intercourse.
The truth remains, most single people are single because of the crave for illicit sex. I have aid it before; you do not satisfy someone sexually to show appreciation for kindness done to you if you are not married to him or her.
Sex is expensive, God never made it cheap! God made it expensive that is why in His plan you cannot have it with anyone until the price of getting (with the intention of staying) married is paid.
Many do not know that it is foolish to believe God to get married while doing things that are making you un-marry-able. It is foolish to believe God to restore your marriage, sacrificing towards it and praying about it, but doing things that will make sure that the marriage is not restored.
Most separations and divorce are caused by attitudes not the devil. Remember the word the LORD sent to us yesterday on attitudes. That is why it is foolish to be spiritualizing everything as a Christian.
If a women have a bad attitude that she refuses to either acknowledge or repent off, no sane man will either marry of stay with her.
That is why women with the golden attitudes described in proverbs 31 do not lose their husbands to any other woman or lack a good man coming for their hands in marriage when the season comes. In fact, they cannot be kept single except it is part of a divine call in their lives.
The truth is most ladies are single because they have an attitude problem not because they have a spiritual husband. When attitude is what is keeping you single, and you go praying against anyone keeping you single, you are indeed praying against yourself.
Thank God he does not answer such prayers. You would have been sorry!
IT IS FOOLISH FOR A LADY NOT TO SUBMIT TO HER HUSBAND IN ALL THINGS.
It is also foolish for a man not to love his wife. God never created that a woman be without authority over her life, and he never created that a man to hate his wife.
Any woman who understands the wisdom of submission will never lose a God given husband. The foolishness of lack of submission is the reason many ladies are either single or married to GOD given husband yet single.
On the other hand, any man, who understands the wisdom of loving a God given wife, with no attitude problem, will always have her submitting to him not issuing commands and ruling over him. We must wake up and begin to lead our lives in Heavenly wisdom these end times.
If you read Matthew 19, you will realize that it is not Heavenly wisdom to call an adulterous wife or husband who is not repenting of his or her sins, “a life partner.” Adultery destroys the covenant of marriage, and it will destroy the moral lives of Children if there is no repentance.
Adultery has a way of turning the faithless partner into a death partner. It can open the gates of death on a faithful partner if the faithless refuse to repent. That is why Jesus said when Adultery sets in; He will allow divorce to take place.
But there are over righteous men and women who do stay put to unrepentant adulterous man or women. Being over righteousness is foolishness. The Bible says in the book of Ecclesiastes 7:16-17
“Do not be overly righteous, nor be overly wise: Why should you destroy yourself? Do not be overly wicked, nor be foolish: Why should you die before your time?”
If we are overly righteous we come under the gates of death. Most faithful partners in adulterous marriages sometimes die leaving their faithless partners.
Sadly, speaking, I have seen couples die prematurely because of the foolishness of doing what Jesus never said we should do. Jesus never said we should put up with unrepentant adulterous wives or husbands.
CHILD OF GOD, THE LIST OF PERSONAL FOOLISHNESS IS ENDLESS.
There is also the foolishness of being in a failed thing and trusting God to restore it back without doing what will be required for it to be restored.
Here is wisdom; if you are in a failed marriage and trusting the LORD to restore it back, start asking Him to show you things you did in the past that destroyed it and repent of them.
Ask Him to show you things that you may be doing now that will never allow your marriage to be restored and stop them.
Time has come for us to stop blaming witches and wizards and spiritual foundations for a moment and be true to ourselves! It is foolish to blame the spiritual for what the natural is responsible for.
If you are single, I want you to ask the LORD to show you the things that you may be doing that are keeping you single, and stop blaming spiritual things for your single-hood.
If you are poor, ask the LORD to show you the things you may be doing that are making you poor and stop blaming the foundations of your father’s house.
Our devotional text said,
“The foolishness of a man twists his way..” How true this is. It did not say the spiritual foundation of a man’s house. That is why the Bible says in proverbs 4:7 “wisdom is the principal thing. In all your getting get wisdom, get understanding.”
I am glad, as important as prayer is the Bible did not say “prayer is the principal thing.” It says “wisdom!” That is why true and effective prayers always unlock Godly wisdom to deal with a situation.
Jeremiah 33:3 says;
“call unto me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things that you know not.”
True prayer will unlock the wisdom from Heaven to solve a problem because every problem is traceable to an act of foolishness.
If your foolishness is what is twisting your ways and you go blaming the twist on something else, things will remain difficult in your Life.
If your foolishness is what is twisting your finances, marriage, health and etc. and you go blaming other things, you will never recover.
You see, if the Devil is the root cause of your problem, one ounce of prayer will expose and deal with it, but if foolishness is the root cause of your problems no amount of prayer can deal with it. That is why a baptism of foolishness is what the devil gives to whoever he wants to destroy before launching an attack against the person.
Time to begin to walk in Heavenly wisdom. The Bible says the Holy scriptures can make us wise; every book of the Bible is capable of making us wise. Let us begin to spend quality time with the word.
Let is begin to make the annihilation of foolishness our goal in life and we will begin or reinforce a glorious match into a bright future.
The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 7:17
“Wisdom strengthens the wise more than ten rulers of the city.”
That clearly tells us what foolishness does. It weakens a man before his enemies.
Yes, foolishness will weaken your faith, frustrate the grace of God upon your life, deny you access to victory, kill your marriage, destroy your economy, and do the devil’s bidding in your life. But wisdom will do the opposite. It will turn things around.
We can go on and on but this is not a book but a devotional.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL SOURCE OF MEDITATION TODAY AND YOU WILL BE MOST BLESSED;
“He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good. Proverbs 19:8 NKJV
“Luxury is not fitting for a fool, much less for a servant to rule over princes.” Proverbs 19:10
“The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and his glory is to overlook a transgression.” Proverbs 19:11
“A foolish son is the ruin of his father, and the contentions of a wife are a continual dripping.” Proverbs 19:13 NKJV
“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.”
“But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.”
“This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.”
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”
“Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” James 3:13-18 NKJV
