TODAY’S DEVOTION (Tuesday 9th November 2021)
“Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand:” Joel 2:1 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 312TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS.
Let me start again by thanking God for the just concluded School of the Prophets. We are in the days of Trumpets. The KING’S coming is at the door. The days of trumpet are days of hearing the prophetic word for the times and seasons we live.
The arrival of every king is heralded by the blowing of trumpets. King Jesus is on His way. He is sounding the trumpet by His Holy Spirit on the earth. The prophetic ear is picking it and sounding to those who have ears to listen.
These are days of knowing the times; knowing generally what the Church ought to do, and individually, knowing how to lead the Christians life. Yes, we are in days of getting the bride ready for her King. There is only one thing the Holy Spirit is doing to actualize this.
Apostle Paul said,
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” Ephesians 5:25-27 NKJV
The Holy Spirit is getting the Church ready for her King by stirring the elects to lead holy and blameless lives in a perverse and cooked generation.
I want to state unequivocally, that presenting the church without spot or wrinkle remains the ultimate Cry of the Spirit for our age and time.
If you are therefore, part of His Church and are having the authentic Holy Spirit, being a Christian who is without blemish before GOD, will be your greatest drive.
The ultimate work of the Spirit in your life will be sanctification.
It is through sanctification that we are washed of every sin, filth, defilement or iniquity that fills us with spots and wrinkles. It is through sanctification that the bride is made holy, blameless and ready for her king.
Simply put, sanctification is the action of declaring something holy after it has been made holy through purification, cleansing or decontamination.
Sanctification in GOD’s kingdom is by God’s grace made active by living truths. If grace sanctifies, it does not leave us under the dominion of sin.
IN OTHER WORDS, IT STRIPES US OF THE COMFORT TO GO ON LIVING IN SIN.
The Bible says;
“For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.
But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” Titus 3:3-6 NKJV
In this scripture it is clear that when God’s grace and truth goes active, it results in, a washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. That is how we are justified by God’s grace.
It networks with living truths to spark a washing and a regeneration of our human spirits, to become alive to God and awake to righteousness, moving us from practicing sinners to ex sinners.
Sadly, many are not aware that the sanctification of those who are being saved is what the Holy Spirit is doing now. It is His chief move on earth, among other great things He is doing. He is the present friend of the bride groom, working through apostle and prophets with the mandate of the groom, to get the bride ready for her king.
One of the major things He is doing is the teaching of sanctifying truths. Sanctifying truths are truths that purifies a man’s souls and spirit by removing any form of sin, iniquity, trespass, impurity or defilement if obeyed. Peter said,
“Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart,
having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, 1 Peter 2:22-23 NKJV
There is a purification of the soul and spirit that takes place in the lives of those who seek the LORD when they obey sanctifying truths preached to them. That is why the teaching of sanctifying truths will remain God’s way of removing spots and wrinkles from our lives, in His move to present us to Himself a holy, blameless and perfect Church.
PAUL CALLS IT A GLORIOUS CHURCH HAVING NO SPOT OR WRINKLE.
Sadly, while we wait for the expected coming of our great KING, and go through these moves of the Spirit to sanctify us, many will die before he arrives. Records have it that 4 to 6 people die every second. God wants those who will die to die sanctified and made pure and holy before God. He is not willing that any of us die living in sin.
You could be a preacher or a church member, if you die in a life of sin you are lost forever. This is what many so called grace preachers prevents people from realizing in their bid to teach the power of redemption by the dead of Christ.
Jesus says, if we call Him “LORD, LORD,” but do not do what He says, Heaven will not be our home. But these preachers say the opposite and people believe them. It is stupid to believe the preachers over what Jesus said in His word.
The sign that we are saved from eternal judgment should not show in our confessions alone but also in our lifestyles. People who are truly saved from eternal judgement, live their lives striving to please the LORD day by day, by doing what He said in His written will. The Bible says;
“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?
Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like:
He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.
But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great.” Luke 6:46-49 NKJV
It is important that scriptures like this one becomes part of our Christian lives.
We must become that house that will not fall into eternal ruin under the weight of the power of sin, the flesh or the world system. We must submit to God daily, and to His word of truth and righteousness, through prayers, fasting and quality time with the word to become all that He has called us to be.
Our devotional text says,
“Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand:”
As we bring this to a close, I want us to understand that the main sound of the Trumpet being blown in Zion by the Testimony of Jesus Christ today, is the sound of God’s sanctifying truths. The essence is to present us blameless, perfect and pure before Christ in the fullness of time.
It is important that we align our hearts with it so that God’s written will that’s says “He is not willing that any should perish” will be done in our lives.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY
“Therefore, we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.” Hebrews 12:1-4 NKJV
