THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Monday 13th December 2021)

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 347TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF HIGHER HEIGHTS.

Have you ever found yourself Sometimes in situations where you wish God lives somewhere down the street and that you can just walk into His house, sit before Him and ask Him some questions about life? If you have not, some of us I have!

Come to talk of it, where does God really live? Off course God lives in His house. But that answer makes it even more complicate to a finite mind. Because the house of God is not a building; the house of God is the place of His manifest presence.

Except one is filled with hell and doomed for eternal damnation, no human being will not be glad when invited to the house of God.

But where does He live? Does He live in your Church building?

If He lives in our Church buildings then why are we more familiar with and aware of the Phrase “Divine Visitation” but ignorant of the phrase “Divine habitation?” It means God does not live in our Church buildings. Maybe He visits, but does not live there!

David said I was glad when they say let us to the house of God. When He made that statement, the Temple has not built yet. And what Jacob calls the house of God in Genesis 28 was a place where God’s portal opened – an entry point between Heaven and earth.

If there is anything, we need now it is the revelation of God’s house! The time to move from divine visitation to divine habitation is now. But that will not be possible until we encounter the revelation of His house.

The revelation of God’s house is part of His redemption plan for mankind. His vision is to see every man saved from eternal damnation through reconciliation. In other words, God’s greatest desire for mankind is that we get reconciled with him. But you do not reconcile with someone outside His house. You must locate where the house is and meet Him there for reconciliation.

Sadly, many of us who seek to reconcile with him do not find him because we do not know his house.

THE BIG QUESTION REMAINS, WHERE DOES GOD LIVE? WHERE IS HIS HOUSE?

You cannot find God outside His house. You cannot find God where He “use to visit.” You cannot even find God deeply where He visits. You can only find and reconcile with Him where He lives.

Now, where does God live?

In God’s design before you call a place His house, His portal of glory must be opened over the place and His manifest presence ever present. That was why the first building called the “house of God” in scriptures was the Temple of Solomon. It was built where a portal of glory had opened. The portal opened first before the building was built. That was why the people where right when they called the place the house of God.

Sadly, today we call places where God’s portals are not opened over “House of God” that is why many go there and do not find God; at best they find His anointing but not His glory.

It was not the building of the temple of Solomon that made the place the house of God but the presence of the portal of glory. God’s redemptive plan is that men recognize where He lives and go there to seek Him. That was why He opened the portal in Jerusalem and requested that the temple be built right there.

In fact, He had to call a man by the name David, made him king, and empowered him just to seek the very spot the portal was opened so that Solomon his son could go there and build the temple. That was how important it was!

Later He expanded the plan and made Hearts that worship Him in Spirit and in truth the only place to find Him.

ISAIAH CAUGHT THIS REVELATION AND SAID;

Thus says the Lord:

“Heaven is My throne, and earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And where is the place of My rest?

For all those things My hand has made, and all those things exist,” Says the Lord. “But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word. Isaiah 66:1-2 NKJV

Contrite spirits or hearts that trembles at His word are the present House of God on the face of the earth. In other words, the house of God is that heart that trembles at His word. That human spirit that is not proud. Whenever you see a man with a contrite spirit; a heart that trembles at the word of the LORD, you have seen the house of God.

So, when next circumstances force us to ask “where does God live?” Let this revelation be your guide; God lives in contrite spirits; Hearts that tremble at His word.

Our devotional text this morning says

“But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

It takes a contrite Spirit and a heart that trembles at the word of the LORD to worship God in the Spirit. That is why people who worship God in the Spirit move from divine visitation to divine habitation. God will live in them and use them to visit others with miracles, signs, and wonders.

As you begin a new week this day, make this devotional your meditation. God wants you to be His next house on the face of the earth. He wants to live in you.

Most of us do not know that the primary purpose of salvation is divine habitation. Until you become a dwelling place of GOD in the Spirit, you are not safe. And if you are not safe, you are exposed to the gates of your enemies.

But you can decide to fulfill your divine destiny as God’s house on the face of the earth. You will need a school of the Spirit. A true School of the Spirit is a construction site where men are molded into temples for God in the Spirit.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY:

“Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.” Ephesians 2:19-3:1 NKJV
