THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (Sunday 27th February 2022)

“Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name;

Make His praise glorious. Say to God, “How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.

All the earth shall worship You And sing praises to You; They shall sing praises to Your name.” Selah

Come and see the works of God; He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men. He turned the sea into dry land; They went through the river on foot. There we will rejoice in Him.

He rules by His power forever; His eyes observe the nations; Do not let the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah Psalm 66:1-7 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 58th DAY OF OUR YEAR OF AMAZING GRACE

Like our devotional text puts it, I want to say “Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honour of His name; Make His praise glorious” because He is worthy of all our praise.

Its been 27 days since we started this amazing journey of truth on matters of righteous prayers and God have been intentional in opening the eyes of our understanding to comprehend things on prayer. He hates it when our prayers do not receive answers from Him because answers to prayers is a major catalyst of spiritual growth. It has a way of building us.

Very few people know that when we pray privately and get answers, it becomes a scaffold of higher heights in faith, that is why many runs to those they consider closer to GOD for help. But the discourse of this month has really showed us things about prayer that if we apply, will bring us to the place of not depending on anyone to get answers to our prayers.

We decided to wrap up this journey by looking at Bible secrets to apply when bringing things under divine control through prayer. God’s generational vision is to have people with the prayer fire to bring things under His control in every generation. Any generation with no such people will be meat for their enemies.

So many things in people’s lives and the world at large are out of control. Some are under demonic control. Others are under the control of humans who are under the control of the evil one. That’s why there is so much chaos on our planet. We must learn how to bring all of them under divine control through prayer.

The prayer knee is the only knee that can bring things that are under demonic control to God’s control. And we have been looking at the principles to apply or the steps to take on the prayer knee to make that happen. We have seen the first step or principle; which is, knowing God’s immediate present will for a given situation and praying it into the situation.

THE SECOND STEP OR PRINCIPLE IS STANDING ON GOD’S PROMISES THAT COMES TO US AS SPIRIT AND LIFE TO PRAY.

We saw in the life of Jehoshaphat; we saw how he stood on God’s promise that came to Israel when Solomon prayed to bring the situation that was almost wiping the entire nation away under divine control. The man stood on what God had said and brought what was clearly under demonic control to divine control. We can do the same in our age because the God of yesterday is still the God of today!

The next step to take on the prayer knee to bring things under divine control is to pray down GOD’s power. You must understand that when it comes to bringing things that are under the control of demons or humans to divine control, there must be a display of God’s power.

We have spoken about praying from the place of perfect knowledge of divine will. We have also shared about standing on divine promises to pray. The truth is, if none of these steps resulted in the release of God’s power to control a given situation, the prayer was just a mere religious exercise.

In God’s kingdom, whatever does not produce power is a joke. Paul said;

“But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power. For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.” 1 Corinthians 4:19-20 NKJV

He was like, “stop the talk thing. Talk is cheap. It is the power of God we want to see. For the Kingdom of God is not in words but in power.

In the days of old, a sacrifice of prayer that was acceptable to God, received fire from Heaven. Today, things have change. Each time we pray prayers that are acceptable to God, He release His powers from Heaven to us on earth.

If you want to be getting results in prayer, you must understand that any prayer that is not unlocking God’s power upon you or upon a situation of interest should be stopped. If it is not bringing God’s power upon you, seal your lips and forget the prayer.

IF THE PRAYER CAN RELEASE GOD’S POWER UPON YOU, THEN IT CAN BRING THE SITUATION UNDER CONTROL.

The release of God’s power upon us as we pray, is a major sign. It is a major sign that your prayer has unlocked God’s power upon the situation you may be praying about.

When the earth was without form and void, God did not send any other Heavenly treasure to bring things under His control. God sent His power; the Holy Spirit to do that. The Bible says;

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.” Genesis 1:1-4 NKJV

The way God sent His power, the Holy Spirit, to brood upon the waters and bring things under control, we can through prayers, stir the Holy Spirit to brood over our lives and bring things under divine control.

Standing on God’s promises to pray the will of God into a given situation will release God’s power to control it. Without the release of God’s power, there can be no submission to God and there can be no success in trying to bring what is out of control under control.

Our fathers brought governments to their knees because of the greatness of God’s power they unlocked through prayer. A beautiful portion of our devotional text says;

“Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name;

Make His praise glorious. Say to God, “How awesome are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You.

All the earth shall worship You And sing praises to You; They shall sing praises to Your name.” Selah

IT TAKES THE GREATNESS OF GOD’S POWER FOR THE ENEMY TO SUBMIT.

This calls for asking the LORD for power and for fresh anointing each time you are in prayer. Yes, learn to ask the LORD for the demonstration of His power in your life; ask Him to bring all that may be out of control in your life under His control.

Ask Him to give you the anointing to prosper even in very difficult situations. Am not referring to the one your pastor gives you in a bottle. Am referring to the genuine substance that cannot be put in a bottle, a jug or ho rm. Am referring to the Anointing of the Holy Spirit that was originally designed to run in our veins of faith. The Bible says;

“But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil. My eye also has seen my desire on my enemies; My ears hear my desire on the wicked Who rise up against me.” Psalm 92:10-11 NKJV

This scripture kept me for so many years.

From experience, I have come to discover that with the anointing of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we can watch on the prayer knee and release the power of God into situations to bring them under His control. When that happens, things will happen in such a way that those who come against us will find themselves perishing by their own sword.

I will pick from here tomorrow as we bring this discourse to an end.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!

“So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” Luke 11:9-13 NKJV
