TODAY’S DEVOTION (MONDAY 8TH AUGUST 2022)
“Now Jacob went out from Beersheba and went toward Haran. So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep.
Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
And behold, the LORD stood above it and said: “I am the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.
Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” Genesis 28:10-15 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 220TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF AMAZING GRACE!
This is the day the LORD has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.
God’s unquestionable faithfulness has been our help. His mercies have been why we are alive. Hallelujah! People whose lives are covered by God’s mercies have a way of surviving any attack of the enemy.
Yes, God’s mercies have prevented the enemy from having us for food from January till date. To Him belong all the glory. Amen!
This week is a week of destiny for Kenya, our primary place of assignment.
Thank God for the prayers that have been reaching the throne room of God for safe transition. We pray that no matter the outcome of the elections, the LORD, will reign over the emotions of everyone and steadily guide the ship of the state and its citizen in peace.
We are on the 31-Day Journey of faith with the Cry of the Holy Spirit on spiritual fathering. The LORD began by showing us where the first spiritual fathering was and what it revolved around. To me that was one of the best revelations we have encountered from the Spirit of the LORD on the subject.
If you understand what spiritual fathering is, you will discover that the first spiritual fathering was in the Garden of Eden under the glory and it revolved around the tree of life.
That goes to tell us that if a spiritual fathering system is approved of the LORD, a Heavenly portal will be opened over it, bringing both the father and his sons in faith under its covering shelter.
You see, in Christ, whatever is approved of the LORD will have a Heavenly portal opened over it. Be it a decision, a marriage, the pursuit of a divine call, a business venture, a career, a project or etc. once something has a seal of divine approval, God opens a Heavenly portal over it.
A HEAVENLY PORTAL IS THE REASON FOR GENERATIONAL BLESSINGS, JUST AS A PORTAL OF HELL IS USUALLY THE REASON FOR CERTAIN CURSES OF LIFE.
It is the portal God opens over spiritual fathering that makes the kingdom order of fathering a catalyst of generational blessing.
That is why when God is preparing one to father a generation, He will make sure Heavenly portals are ready or opened over the person. We see that in the life of Abraham. The Bible says;
“And Abram passed through the land unto the place of sichem, unto the plain of moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.
And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD. Genesis 12:6-8 KJV
When the LORD appeared unto Abram before he became Abraham, a portal was opened over him because of the plan of GOD to make him a biological and spiritual father. The man responded by lifting up His heart to the LORD.
Back in those days, when hearts are lifted, the people demonstrate it by raising altars before the LORD because things were still symbolic.
Hearts are lifted unto the LORD most times, when Heavenly portals open over people. That is why, there is a kind of divine presence you feel when Heavenly portals open over you. That presence has a way of drawing your heart to the LORD.
That was what they had. But they could only express their response by raising altars of stones that were symbols of their hearts.
One thing we can learn from the life of Abraham is this, spiritual fathering, if approved by the LORD, will carry a Heavenly portal over it like it carried in the days of Adam. It may not have the fullness of that glory that Adam had, but it will still carry a Heavenly portal over it.
That is one reason you should make sure God is involve in your relationship with anyone you have taken as a spiritual father. If God is involved, it will have a seal of divine approval. If it has a seal of divine approval, it will have a Heavenly portal opened over it.
NOW, TALKING ABOUT A HEAVENLY PORTAL. OUR DEVOTIONAL TEXT SAYS;

Jacob was running away from Esau when he stumbled into this Heavenly portal. He got to the place when it looked as ordinary as any other place, but after encountering the LORD through the portal, he knew it was not ordinary.
Historically, this was the same place that Abraham encountered God as Abram long before Isaac, Jacob’s father, was born. This was the first place God stood to open a Heavenly portal over Abraham when he was Abram. Part of what the LORD stood on that portal to reveal to him was the plan to make him an exalted father as his name implied.
The portal was a portal that God open over fathers to function as a covering of divine approval over their relationship with the God given sons and daughters in the faith. This scripture tells us what happens to a man’s life if he lives it under the Heaven portals God opens over a relationship between a spiritual father and his son.
THE FIRST THING THAT WILL HAPPEN IS THE ASCENDING AND DESCENDING OF ANGELIC HOST OVER THE LIVES OF THE FATHER AND SON IN THE FAITH.
The ascending angels will take prayer items, fasting and other forms of sacrifices in the relationship between the father and son, to Heaven for attention. The descending angels will come down with the results.
The ascending and descending angels will keep the blessings of the LORD flowing and unhindered in the lives of everyone involved. That is why people get blessed when they keep a healthy spiritual father son relationship with their GOD given fathers. You cannot afford to live on earth without a Heavenly portal opened over your life.
The next results of having a portal of Heaven over you is in what the LORD said to Jacob. He said to him,
“I am the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.”
It is when you live your life under the Heavenly portal type that God opens over a spiritual fathering system that you entered into the labor of spiritual fathers. Though this has been used to manipulate people into ungodly submission, it remains one of the principles of Kingdom advance.
Jesus made a profound statement that reveals the possibility of entering into the labor of others. He said to his disciples;
“Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’
I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.” John 4:35-38 NKJV
THERE ARE THREE KINDS OF HARVESTS. THE THIRD TYPE IS WHAT JESUS PRESENTED IN THE LAST VERSE OF THIS SCRIPTURE.
It is a harvest where fathers labor and sons who have been processed and equipped move in to reap the labor. But we are used to the first kind of harvest, which most times is not required for critical kingdom advance programs.
It is when Portals open over father-son relationship that sons can come into the righteous harvest of the seeds that fathers have sown in their walk and talk with GOD.
It is important to note that God will not always wait for sons to suffer all that their fathers suffered to come into certain kingdom inheritance and blessings. He will just use the portal opened over the relationship to pass the inheritance from their faithful fathers to them sons, processed sons.
The last blessing of living under an open portal that I want to share is in the last verse of our devotional text. It says;
“Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” Genesis 28:15 NKJV
In this scripture, we find the blessing of divine backing, divine protection, and God’s abiding presence. That is what we enjoy under a heavenly portal.
Yes, under a Heavenly portal we are protected or kept by the LORD.
Under a Heavenly portal, the arm of the LORD is always there, to bring us into manifestations of what GOD may have promised us. Under a Heavenly portal, God will not leave us until He has done what He may have spoken to us or our fathers that He will do in our lives.
What is the message of today? The message is simple! You can never become anything God has called you to be, especially in a greater dimension, if a special portal of Heaven is not opened over you – the very type that opens over spiritual father spiritual son relationship.
You see that even in the relationship between Elijah and Elisha, who could not enter into the double portion of Elijah’s dimension until they got to Jordan, the place where the portal opened.
It is my prayer that God will use this word to keep building us up and giving us an inheritance among they that are sanctified.
LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR US TODAY!
“And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?”
Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.”
So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.”
Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, “My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces. 2 Kings 2:9-12 NKJV
