TODAY’S DEVOTION (THURSDAY 12THOctober 2023)
“Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go.
“Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.” Isaiah 48:17-18NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 285TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF SIGNS AND WONDERS
It’s a good thing to give than thanks to the LORD, the only one who is ever mindful of us. He takes care of the smallest details of our lives. Glory to His great name!
One of my best scriptures reads “man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God.” I am so glad that the statement did not come from a theologian or a religious person, it came from God Himself. He taught Israel just that one lesson for 40 years.
If the lesson was not important, it would not have been that long.
You see, when God speaks, He does not speak to the body of man. So, when He feeds man with His word, He does not feed his body. He feeds his spirit. So, when God said man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from His mouth.
He was revealing to us what the human spirit needs to come alive in Christ or stay alive in Him; and that is not limited to staying alive in this world but also in the world to come. Yes, there is a world to come; life after death. Our human spirits need words that proceeds from His mouth to end well after this life. But there is more to that word!
When GOD says “man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from His mouth” He was also telling us that just as the human body needs natural food (bread) to stay alive, so the human spirit needs spiritual food to gloriously stay alive in this life.
Meaning, if the preaching you hear in your church is not a proceeding word from God, you will never come alive in the Spirit of GOD and stay gloriously alive on planet earth. You will become spiritually weak, malnourished and eventually live an earthly life that is full of the flesh, or satisfaction of all forms of carnal desires.
I have come to discover that the healthiest people on earth are not those who eat the best food. I have seen people who eat the best meals terribly sick. The healthiest people on earth are people who feed daily on the proceeding word or rhema word of GOD.
IT KEEPS THEM HEALTHY, SPIRIT, SOUL AND BODY.
That is what GOD says and we will be fools not to believe His word. But let’s go further! I did share in one of our recent teachings that man is made up of spirit, soul, and body, because he was created in the image of GOD.
GOD is Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. The spirit of man was designed to be God’s divine communication gadget in man. That is why the Bible says, “God is Spirit,” and they that worship Him must do so in spirit and in truth.
There is something to understand from that beautiful scripture in John chapter 4. With our spirits, we commune with God, with our souls we assimilate from God, and with our physical bodies, we carry out the execution of what is assimilated.
God designed life to begin from within. He never designed life to begin from without. That is why the Bible says in proverbs 4:23
“Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” (NKJV)
If God wants you to begin a fresh and more prosperous economic life, for example, He will speak to your human spirit, then your soul will collect the information from your spirit and assimilate it.
Once it is assimilated, your physical body will find the right thing to do to change your economic life. That was how Jacob got a vision that he put into work, which resulting in the wealth of Laban being transferred to him. Our devotional text says, He teaches us to profit.
If God wants to heal you, He will send forth His word into your spirit, then your soul will pick and assimilate it. Then strength will enter into your body automatically, bringing healing.
That is why people gets healed in our Church while preaching is going on. No use of oil, water, salt, or etc. The word the LORD sends among us, enters the spirits of those who are alert, gets into their souls in moments, and breaks forth in their lives as God’s healing power, and sicknesses disappears. That is also how people are delivered among us.
The Bible says He sent forth His word, and healed them, and delivered them from all their destruction. You will never step into a miracle the word of the LORD brought your way until it enters your spirits and gets assimilated in your soul.
THAT IS WHY TEACHING MINISTRIES WHERE CHRIST IS AT THE CENTER OF THE MESSAGE, ARE THE NEED OF THE HOUR.
When you expose yourself to them, Christ will be formed in your heart, and you will begin to come into redemptive blessings. You will begin to receive words into your spirit that your soul must assimilate, to allow the interventions or blessings that you need to break forth in your life.
Friend, I submit to you that we all need prayers – righteous prayers. But what a word from the LORD will do in our lives, no prayer can do. That is why even prayer itself is only effective when it unlocks a word from the LORD to us. The Bible says;
“Thus, says the Lord who made it, the Lord who formed it to establish it (the Lord is His name): ‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’ Jeremiah 33:2-3 NKJV
If our prayers will be effective, they must move God to send a word that contains great and mighty things that we do not know. It is the revelation of those great and mighty things that makes our prayers divine intervention friendly.
When God sends a word that contains the revelation of great and mighty things we do not know at the instance of our prayers, the word makes our prayers result oriented. That is why I said, what a word from God will do in our lives, even prayers cannot do.
That does not reduce the importance of prayer, it only tells us what to press into when we pray; because men always ought to pray and not to faint. We ought to pray, pressing into the revelation of the great and mighty things that we do not know.
You see, the reason for persistent prayers is actually to position our spirits for a word from the LORD; a word that will unleash the great and mighty things that we do not know in our lives. That is why true prayers bring us to the place of receiving a word from the LORD. I hope you understand me!
When we pray, without receiving a miracle working or life changing word from the LORD in our spirits to assimilate with our souls, that prayer might remain unanswered.
When we call upon the LORD, and a word that contains a revelation of the great and mighty things we do not know did not come in response, the purpose of our calling might remain elusive to us. Prayer only produces result, when a revealed miracle working, or divine intervention word comes from God in response to our prayer.
All these explains why the word says, “man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.” When we pray, we should pray looking for the proceeding word to unlock the miracle we need. That is the secret.
RIGHTEOUS PRAYERS WILL WORK ON OUR SPIRITS TO BE IMPREGNATED WITH A WORD FROM THE LORD.
It will work on our spirits to connect the Heavenly realm we were created to live from, and bring things to our souls that must be assimilated through meditation, for our physical bodies to take actions that will cause those things to be born on earth or in our lives. Except you are looking for magic, that is the process to use in receiving whatever you need from God.
God does not perform magic. God performs miracles. The two are not the same. Magic comes through dark doctrines like the doctrine of raising and silencing of altars.
Magic also comes through dark practices like the use of gadgets in prayers, the mysterious waving of hands and use of fingers by some preachers, and etc. Magic also comes through on point revelation from prophets who use the divination of the moon and stars.
But miracles come when our spirits have conceived a word that contain the revelation of great and mighty things that we do not know from the LORD. They come when the LORD teaches us to profit in an area of life. They come through a proceeding word and prayer, as outlines in this devotional.
But it is so sad that people might not even listen to this counsel. Our problem has always been that of not following the LORD. A major highlight in our devotional text this morning says;
“Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.”
This is one of the lamentations of the almighty in the Bible. It is my prayer that we will heed the word of the LORD this morning, and begin to operate in the frequency of outsourcing our earthly lives from the world of God!

“Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries.
“The haters of the Lord would pretend submission to Him, but their fate would endure forever. He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; and with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you.” Psalms 81:13-16 NKJV
