TODAY’S DEVOTION (TUESDAY 14th NOVEMBER 2023)
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans 8:1-6 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 318TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF SIGNS AND WONDERS.
We bless the LORD our God for this day. Like David, we would say, “the is the day the LORD has made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it.” Its our day of signs and wonders, because the year is a year of signs and wonders.
Yes, it is important for us to understand that if a year has been declared by the LORD to be a year of signs and wonders, or amazing grace, it means each month, week, day, hour, minute or second of the year is a month, week, day, hour, minute or second of signs and wonders.
We should not see it otherwise irrespective of what might be happening.
The word of the LORD is standing guard over the different time lines that constitute that year. He is watching over His word within those time lines to perform them. The performance of God’s word in our lives is the key to our making in life. That is why we should take things that He declares very important, by standing in faith strong enough to believe in them.
We become men and women of kingdom value in a corrupt world when the LORD performs His word in lives.
We have been on a journey with the Cry of the Spirit on visionary living. Visionary living is the best and safest way to live in a fallen world. The Bible says where there is no vision, people perish. Lately we have been looking at laws of visionary living.
THE LORD ENLIGHTENED US ON THE LAWS OF FREEDOM YESTERDAY.
When we say freedom, we are referring to freedom in Christ. The only freedom that is meaningful is freedom in Christ. In Christ, we are free from the penalty and practice of sin, and will be free from its presence at our death.
Yes, we are free from the curse of the law, the curse of sin, the curse of being born in an accursed family, or any other curses of life once we are in Christ. Nothing dark from our father’s houses, can have a spiritual bearing on our lives, because in Him we no longer belong there spiritually.
We are free from the curses.
You do not belong to a particular house, and suffer curses in another house. Through salvation, we are re born into the house hold of God. By the covenant of grace, we no longer belong to our fathers’ houses, except in the flesh. In fact, we do not even belong to this world except in the flesh because Jesus said, “you are not of this world.”
Any curse in a house or realm you are no longer part of, will never speak in your life if you walk in the newness of the life that Christ purchased for you. I think believers still go break curses from their father’s houses, either because of ignorance of because of pseudo salvation.
If you are ignorant, or if your salvation is fake, false, or just psychological, you will still have the dark things of your father’s house on your life. If you truly met the LORD, and sit under genuine discipleship ministries, none of what is in your father’s house will rob on you.
We have been looking at visionary living and its laws. Maybe let us look at matters of curses from our father’s houses and all that. It could add to our revelation as end time Christians.
To start with, understand that it is the father’s house (the Adamic Nature) called the flesh and carnal mindedness, that makes us captive of tormenting spirits and curses in our father’s houses.
But in Christ, we can be free from all that.
We can be free by living a life that is not controlled by our carnal minds or our flesh, when the Holy Spirit of the living GOD, takes over and begin to live the born-again life through us. A major part of our devotional text says;
“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” Romans 8:6 NKJV
A LOT OF US WHO PROFESS SALVATION ARE FATALLY CARNALLY MINDED.
People have not really seen the curse that carnal mindedness brings. In fact, that is the very curse many struggles with and they call it curses from their father’s house, evil foundation and etc.
The Bible says to be carnally minded is death. That is the death we struggle with, and blame our father’s houses for what our carnal mindedness is bringing upon us.
Child of GOD, to be carnally minded is still death. It brings so much death and all its constituents into our lives. But to be spiritually minded is life and peace; the life and peace that Christ brings. When you have it, there will be no curse that can rest upon your life.
The absence of that life and peace in the lives of many, is the reason for them going for deliverance, and attending so called dedication service. Some are led by ignorant but powerful preachers, to be dedicating their families, cars, children, marriages, and etc. every week or month, because that life and peace a faith in Christ brings, does not exist in their lives.
Child of GOD, the many teachings on curse breaking and all that, have sealed the ignorance of some. Many may never know that the flesh is the only storehouse of curses in life, and that the Spirit is the only storehouse of blessings in life. That if you are not walking in the flesh but the Spirit, no curse can sit on your life.
Yes, if you are not walking in the flesh, the curse of sin, the curse of the law, any curses in your father’s houses, from shrines, aggrieve people or whoever, will never speak in your lives.
Wherever you find the evil people say about others come to pass, you will find people who are walking in the flesh instead of the Spirit, living in there. If you do not want curses to be speaking in your life, do not live in a house of curses, the flesh. Live in a house of blessings, the Spirit.
NOW, LETS LOOK AT ONE OF THE MANY DEFINITIONS OF A CURSE!
A curse is an evil sentence passed or issued in the spirit against someone. It is usually supervised or implemented by the spirit to which the evil sentence is committed to. Wherever you find it successfully placed on people, you will find the victims unsaved, or walking in the flesh.
If you are unsaved, or if you are walking in the flesh, the blood of Jesus cannot cover or protect you from curses, or anything from the kingdom of darkness. A walk in the flesh takes us from the coverage areas of the Holy Spirit, where curses do not rest on people.
So, it is important that we understand this truth; it is people who walk in the flesh that suffer the curses aggrieved or dark people place over them. It is people who walk in the flesh that suffer curses from their father’s houses. It is people who walk in the flesh and are not seeking the LORD, that battle with evil foundation and curses from here and there.
Lives have been ruined for walking in the flesh while professing to be saved. Sadly, no curse breaking preacher is seeing that. Their desire to make money from suffering people, or sound relevant is blind folding them.
Some have suffered from generation to generation, leading to what they call generational curses, just because from generation to generation they have not been covered by the blood of Jesus. They have either lived unsaved lives, or carnal Christian lives.
It is therefore not the curse that is the problem, but an unsaved and sanctified life, or a life in the flesh.
If anyone deceive you about this, please do not deceive yourself; curses work in the lives of people from generation to generation, because the people have been either unsaved and sanctified, or called Christians but walk in the flesh, in all forms of carnality, or have been ruled by carnal mindedness from generation to generation.
I reiterate again, that if there is a generational curse sitting on a family, any generation of that family that becomes saved, and not just saved but becomes Spirit controlled persons, will be free from the curse.
So, to deliver people from generational curses, get them saved and then train them to lead Spirit controlled lives; train them to live Christian lives that are not controlled by unholy desires, or a mind set on things that gratify the flesh.
BRING THEM TO THE PLACE OF LIVING LIVES THAT ARE CONTROLLED BY THE DESIRES OF THE SPIRIT AND THINGS THAT SEEK TO GRATIFY THEM.
Make them part of those who are shaped according to the Spirit and its desires, not according to the flesh and its desires. The Amplified rendering (classic Edition) of a portion of our devotional text says;
“For those who are according to the flesh and are controlled by its unholy desires set their minds on and pursue those things which gratify the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit and are controlled by the desires of the Spirit set their minds on and seek those things which gratify the [Holy] Spirit.” Romans 8:5 AMPC
There are people in so many local churches who are very active in religion, who still suffer the plague of curses from their natural father’s houses. They go to church more than others, fast and pray more than others, and are described by those who watch them as people who love the LORD. Yet, they still struggle under curses.
It is important to understand that being active in religion cannot save anyone from the curses of their natural father’s houses. Paul was so active as Saul, but he never knew his activity was a mere activism that was not pleasing God.
So, you cannot be free from curses being active in religion. You can only be free when you become active in the Holy Spirit.
When you become active in the Holy Spirit, you will cease from walking according to the flesh and its desires, and begin to walk according to the Spirit and His desires.
THE MESSAGE OF TODAY IS VERY SIMPLE. VISIONARY LIVING IS NOT POSSIBLE UNTIL WE ARE ALSO FREE FROM CURSES.
To be free from curses as a Child of God, do not be carnally minded. Do not live your Christian life IN the father’s house of the flesh. If you live your Christian life, in the father’s house of the flesh and carnal mindedness, you will be suffering from curses from your natural father’s house.
But if you live your Christian life from the Father’s house of the Holy Spirit and Spiritual mindedness, the blessings of the LORD that makes rich and adds no sorrows, will be speaking in your life. That is the message of today’s devotional.
We can see the shadow of this truth in what happened in the lives of members of the Church in the wilderness.
The Bible says a sorcerer who was known then as a prophet, came with curses to place on the entire nation, but nothing worked. He raised 21 evil altars, yet they could not speak in their lives, because they were aligned with God.
They did not do altar breaking or silencing meetings to be free, they just camped how God wanted them to camp, and lived how He wanted them to live, and the rest was taken cared of by the LORD. If you say you are saved, you must live the life of the saved and sanctified to be safe from these kinds of attacks of the devil.
MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!
“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.
“He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, nor has He seen wickedness in Israel. The LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a King is among them. God brings them out of Egypt; He has strength like a wild ox.
