THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (TUESDAY 6TH FEBRUARY 2024)

Then the Lord said to him: “Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria.

Also, you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.

It shall be that whoever escapes the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and whoever escapes the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill. 1 Kings 19:15-17 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 37TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.

God be glorified for giving us another day to be alive and well.

According to the Gregorian calendar, it’s been 37 days since we hit this year. We have seen the downfall of Satan in so many respects. Our God has proved Himself faithful in every circumstance, our lives testify.

The best rainfall your life can be under, is the rainfall of God’s faithfulness.

It fell on the nation of Israel after 40 years of slavery in Egypt, and unleashed the needed signs, wonders, and miracles, for God’s people to break free. Its torrents smashed the gods of Egypt and brought God’s people out.

The Bible says it also emptied the treasury of the nation, and made billionaires out of slaves in one night. Then it kept falling, until they crossed the red sea; and did not cease from falling, until they got to the promised land.

During the 40-year journey, it manifested as the pillar of fire by night and the pillar of cloud by day, and fed the people with the very food that angels eat in Heaven all through those year.

It also chastised the rebellious and made sure they never got to the promised land because of their evil.

Sadly, under the rain of God’s faithfulness, some began to ask God to satisfy their hearts desires, which He did, but sent leanness to their souls. They sought the acts of God’s instead of His ways. These people never understood that there are ways you do not worship God under the rain of His faithfulness, hence perishing under the rain.

Aaron would end up making a golden calf for them and bringing more judgment upon the people. He never knew that you do not develop a craved mentality to honor any other god under the rain of God’s faithfulness.

Yes, they never knew that you do not allow your heart to go after the gods of gold (money and all it can buy) or any other god, if God decides to open the flood gates of the rain of His faithfulness over your life.

THEY DIDN’T KNOW THAT THERE ARE THINGS THE RAIN OF GOD’S FAITHFULNESS DO NOT TOLERATE.

Some went as far as serving the god of self, by engaging in sexual immorality under that special rain. The Bible says the consequence was dire. In one moment 23,000 or 24000 of them died. But Moses knew what to do under the rain of God’s faithfulness.

He knew that under the rain of God’s faithfulness, you do not seek His acts but His ways. He did exactly just that!! He sought the ways of God. Today, we are reaping from it.

One of the results of His faith position is the book of Genesis that is in our Bibles. That book is a prove that if we know how to behave under the rain of God’s faithfulness, there will be no words to accurately describe how beautiful our lives will be.

From the exploits of this rain in the scriptures, it is very clear that we need the rain of God’s faithfulness over our lives daily, to successfully traverse the wilderness of this corrupt world, and arrive at the promised land of the parley gates of Heaven.

One thing about this rain is, its works according to your faith, your fight, your revelation knowledge of God, your spirit nature, and submission or rebellion.

That was why it spoke chastisement, in the lives of those with a wrong or dark heart in the camp of Israel, and unleashed great blessings upon those whose hearts were righteous before God.

If there is any rain to seek for, it is the rain of God’s faithfulness.

Now, one of the major things that the rain of God’s faithfulness waters in the lives of every believer, is the seed of the divine destiny buried in the soil of our lives.

Do not forget that God’s plan for your life is in that seed.

All He has designed for you on earth is in that’s seed. It is not in the prophecy of any prophet or prayer of anyone. It is in the seed of divine destiny buried in the soil of your life.

YES, IT IS! LET NO ONE DECEIVE YOU!!

God’s pre-determined blessings, prosperity, progress, peace and great achievements for our lives is buried in the seed of our divine destinies. Until the seed is watered, and made to grow into the tree God designed it to be, your life will remain a reproach on the earth.

One person God will use to position you to begin to receive the rain of His faithfulness in your life, is a servant of His, ordained to function as a midwife in the lives of destiny men and women; a man like Moses, Elijah, Samuel, or Paul the apostle.

Check Christians without men of such stature and assignment in their lives as spiritual heads, and you will see all kinds of deception and devils prospering in their lives, because they will never be positioned for the rain of God’s faithfulness to be falling upon them.

They are the ones that will be told to either raise or silent altars so that they can be free from this or that evil. You will find them running from one dark miracle working prayer mountain, to another. You will find them exploited and spiritually molested because things are not happening.

You will never find them living under the rain of God’s faithfulness. That brings us to the next thing your prophetic destiny needs to be fulfilled; a prophetic midwife.

I have said it before that divine destiny is like a pregnancy. Once a woman is pregnant, the services of a midwife will become inevitable. Once you come to the revelation of divine destiny, the services of a spiritual midwife will become inevitable.

No pregnant women can midwife herself into delivery. In same way no Child of divine destiny can midwife himself into bringing forth his destiny accurately. We will all need the impartations, prophetic skill, and apostolic directives of a midwife.

WE WILL NEED IMPUTES OF A MIDWIFE GOD RAISED AND ASSIGNED TO US.

They are the ones with the wisdom and knowledge to position us for the rain of God’s faithfulness to be falling upon us, like Samuel positioned David, and Paul positioned Timothy and Titus.

Our devotional text today is full of revelation and insights that we can even put in a book. But this is a devotional, so we will scoop just a little of what it contains; enough to start the day with.

Elijah’s assignment, after facing the terrible Jezebel, and neutralizing her prophets, was to function as both a prophet and a spiritual midwife to Hazael, Jehu and Elisha. A major highlight in our devotional text today says;

“Go, return on your way to the Wilderness of Damascus; and when you arrive, anoint Hazael as king over Syria. Also you shall anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi as king over Israel. And Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah you shall anoint as prophet in your place.”

If you read carefully, you will discover a word God used on all the three pregnant people. That word contains the specific job God assigned Elijah to do in their lives. That word is ANOINT.

He was told to anoint each one of them to be what God has destined them to be! The job was more than pouring oil on them.

That was why Elijah never poured oil on Elisha. He rather used a 20-year period of tutorage to position Him under the rain of God’s faithfulness. He taught Elisha how to behave under the rain during the period. The man will grow up under the rain, to do two times the exploits that Elijah did.

Sadly, Elijah could not do the same to Hazael and Jehu, that was why they never ended well.

One word for prophetic midwives is the word FATHER.

Today we do not have many spiritual fathers who know these things. Yes, we do not have many fathers when it comes to the release of our destiny. Like apostle Paul did many years ago, permit me to say “there are no many fathers.”

We just have many instructors or people the Bible call boy leaders, due to the poor quality of revelation knowledge they have.

When the Bible says, “boy leaders,” it is not referring to chronological age but spiritual age and stature. That was the age that made David older than Saul. May the LORD grant you understanding In Jesus precious name!

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR TODAY;

I do not write these things to shame you, but as my beloved children I warn you.

For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel. Therefore I urge you, imitate me.

For this reason I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church. 1 Corinthians 4:14-17 NKJV
