THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (THURSDAY 14TH MARCH 2024)

“Then some of the sons of Benjamin and Judah came to David at the stronghold.

And David went out to meet them, and answered and said to them, “If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if to betray me to my enemies, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look and bring judgment.”

Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, chief of the captains, and he said: “We are yours, O David; we are on your side, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers! For your God helps you.”

So, David received them, and made them captains of the troop.” 1 Chronicles 12:16-18 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 74TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.

The LORD has kept us alive this year for 74 days already. There are more days to go; all by His power. Life is precious my friends, we should not take that for granted.

To Him belong all the glory for allowing our hearts to keep beating, our lungs to keep breathing in and out, our minds to keep working, and the blood to keep flowing in our veins. We remain grateful for allowing us to see another day.

Today, God has a word for our souls, something to feed our faith with. I hope we are ready!

He said in His word, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from Him. May you encounter one proceeding word or more, that will add to the building blocks of your faith. Amen!!

In 2015, we spent some time to teach on the Mystery of Divine Moments in the release of the miraculous. Today we will be revisiting some of those mysteries.

During that blessed season of truth, God brought to my consciousness that, most things in His Kingdom do not really take time to happen. They just take our sensitivity to the divine moments He has ordained that they happen, to make them happen.

For instance, when we fall sick and need a miracle to be healed, it does not really need time for us to get the miracle. Yes, there are things in God that require praying and waiting on God for them to happen, but divine healing is not one of them.

DIVINE HEALING IS ONE MIRACLE THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE TIME, BUT A DIVINE MOMENT.

Yes, it is a miracle that needs divine moments, not a long time of waiting because if you wait longer, you could die, depending on the type of illness. All forms of divine healing we will ever need from God, will depend on our sensitivity in the Spirit and faith in God to happen.

That is why, whoever steps into their divine moment can be healed, and those moments are all around us like atoms. Hovering around and calling on us to sense and step into them.

Some marriage matters are also anchored on divine moments, while others depend on timing or waiting. That is why, for some people, once they hit their marriageable time and season, and sense it, they can get married if they do the things that are right in God’s sight.

God most times use divine moments to push us into significant things in His Kingdom, not really a time of waiting. That is why a people, who do not understand their time of visitation, will stay too long in captivity.

Someone joining me on this devotional today has stayed too long at a particular point.

Many have stayed too long single, sinful, poor, foolish, sick, oppressed, lawless, drinking and smoking, committing immorality, fighting, envious, bitter, or unforgiving, and not repenting. He or she must step out of it, else they will perish.

They must repent now and be healed, made pure now, strengthened now, and etc. Yes, there is a decent life out there for them in God, and they must come into it from today, else it becomes too late.

Sadly, while we wait for our time for so many moves of God to take place in our lives, God is waiting for us to synchronize. He is waiting for our faith to come alive. But we do not understand.

For your faith to come alive, you must stop hearing things that are keeping you where you are, and start hearing things that will make it come alive in Christ.

IN SIMPLE TERMS, YOU MUST CHANGE WHAT YOU HEAR.

If we do not change what we hear, especially if we want to step into God’s miracle moment for us, we will remain where we are. Hearing is very important in life. Do not take hearing for granted. What you have been hearing and musing in your heart, is the reason for you being where you are.

Talking about the power of what a man muse in the heart, I want us to understand that, there are people who have been hearing great truths from God, especially in good local Churches they worship in, but spending their days musing other things in their hearts.

You cannot be hearing from God, or be under great teachings, and then be musing very dark things in your heart and get your life right. You will never get it right despite the life changing things you might be hearing.

It is not actually what we hear, see, touch, or read that changes us, but what we muse in our hearts. You are where you are today, for the things you have been musing in your heart. What you have kept in your heart is what has kept you where you are.

Understand that, you will always defeat in your heart any life changing teachings you hear with your ears, if the things you are musing in your heart are not life changing.

Hearing life changing teachings, and musing other things in your heart, will keep you at one spot in life. To move forward in life therefore, you must change what you muse, meditate on, or store up in your heart.

For some, it will involve changing what they hear also.

If they change what they hear and extend the reformation by changing what they muse in their heart, especially when no one is there, their faith will come alive, and they will begin to sense and step into God’s divine moments for their lives.

It is when we do not change what we hear or what we muse, meditate on, or keep in our hearts, that we wait for too long for the miracles, or signs and wonders that we need from God to move on in life.

Where waiting is not needed for a blessing to be born in a man’s life, he is supposed to step into that blessing or miracle. But if what he hears or muse in the heart is not right, he will keep waiting.

GOD SENT THIS WORD THIS MORNING TO TERMINATE UNNECESSARY WAITING FOR THINGS THAT WE OUGHT TO HAVE STEPPED INTO LONG AGO.

I hope we will allow the word to work in our hearts. We will take an intentional step forward, by checking the things that are lying in the store houses of our hearts. If we do not do so, we will never come into God’s divine moments for our lives.

Do not forget, your breakthrough, miracle, blessing, and other significant things you need from God, are not some years away. They are one divine moment away. Even the fulfillment of that prophecy of God for your life, is not some years away, but one divine moment away.

In our devotional text, David had a divine moment when God moved some of those from the house of Saul to join him. That was a major boost for him. The text says;

“Then some of the sons of Benjamin and Judah came to David at the stronghold. And David went out to meet them, and answered and said to them,

“If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if to betray me to my enemies, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look and bring judgment.”

Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, chief of the captains, and he said:

“We are yours, O David; we are on your side, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers! For your God helps you.” So David received them, and made them captains of the troop. 1 Chronicles 12:16-18 NKJV

This was a divine moment for David to increase his dominion over Israel; it was a divine moment for the fulfilment of a prophecy about his life and calling.

He had to sense it by making sure what was in his heart did not hinder him.

What was in his heart was the fear of betrayal. But he quickly threw it away when the Spirit of God spoke through one of those who came to him.

God will always speak to us to delete what is in our hearts that might hinder or be hindering our divine moments. It is important that we yield like David did.

I believe the totality of this devotional for someone is the voice of the LORD. He or she must yield to it, because as we can see in the scriptures, GOD is tired of seeing you or anyone of us in one spot in life. He wants us all to move forward, and keep moving forward as we live our days!!

It is my prayer that we will mix this word with faith and become all that God wants us to be in Jesus’ precious name. Amen!!

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!

“So, they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”

And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever.” 2 Chronicles 20:20-21 NKJV
