TODAY’S DEVOTION (THURSDAY 28TH MARCH 2024)
“For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.” Isaiah 60:2 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 88TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.
It’s been 88 days of breathing in and out peacefully for many of us. It’s been 88 days of staying alive at God’s expense. We give Him the glory for all that, and we are grateful.
The gift of life is one of the best gifts God gave to man. We must remain grateful.
Being ungrateful is not an ideal life for anyone. It makes one even sick emotionally, can result in a total breakdown of a person’s life. That is why we should never let the devil shut down our thanksgiving.
Today, God has a word for us.
Indeed, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. If God is not filling us with His proceeding word, the enemy will fill us with things that proceeds from the portals of hell.
God’s proceeding word remains our insurance against every work of darkness, especially when it comes as sound doctrine because of the darkness of this age. It has a way of becoming a lamp to our feet, and a light to our paths.
Our devotional text spoke about darkness covering the earth, and gross darkness the people. It also makes the light of God’s glory, which is grace and truth, the panacea thereof. Glory to God!!
That is why, no matter what you are going through, once you find out what the light of God says about it, you will begin to have victory. Even if the worse devils are on your case, the enemy will no longer be able to stop you.
FRIEND, THE LIGHT OF GOD’S WORD IS THE ONLY SOLUTION TO EVERY WORK OF DARKNESS.
That is why you must begin to sit where sound doctrines are taught if you want to restore soundness to your life.
The works of darkness include any divorce that destroys God’s will for marriage, sicknesses and diseases, premature death and all forms of destruction, poverty and all forms of economic hardship.
The works of darkness also include, a life of sin and wickedness, the prosperity and triumph of the wicked, the enthronement of wicked men over nations, wars, and all forms of bloodshed.
The works of darkness also include, a business failure that ruins God’s economic will for a people, and all that does not promote our peace with God and our fellow humans.
That means, when you see men laying down sick, you have seen people under the works of darkness. When you see a woman, who has become a harlot, you have seen someone under the works of darkness. When you see an economically depraved man or woman, you have seen someone under the works of darkness.
When you see a family tearing itself apart, you have seen a people under the works of darkness.
When you see pastors sleeping with ladies who came to worship God and even married women, or stealing from suffering people in the name of raising an altar, sowing a seed for a miracle, or etc., you have seen “men of God” under the works of darkness.
When you see so called prophets giving out prophecies that makes even children in the womb to scream in disgust because of the false spirit they are walking in, you have seen people under the works of darkness.
When you see Church members who are not living the right life, but living in hypocrisy, sexual perversion with even pastors, or fellow church members, you have seen church members under the works of darkness.
When you see so called Christians living in lies, deception, stealing, defrauding, and extorting even fellow church members, by asking for loans they know they will not pay, or stealing in any other ways, you have seen church folks under the work of darkness.
Sadly, there are people who promote the works of darkness even in the Church. Chief among them, are preachers who teach or practice dark doctrines.
THERE ARE PROMOTERS OF THE WORKS OF DARKNESS TODAY AS NEVER BEFORE. I CALL THEM CATALYST OF GROSS DARKNESS.
Let me state clearly that, when you see someone prophesying falsely, using the Bible to collect money from people, using prayer services to heat up hate for fellow brothers, or presenting a doctrine of men or devils for preaching, you have seen someone promoting the works of darkness.
When you hear a preacher telling you that grace has covered the sin you are actively involved in, so there is nothing like repentance, just keep doing it for God understands, you have seen a preacher promoting the works of darkness in the Church.
It is impossible to set a man or women free from the works of darkness by prayer alone.
Prayer, if done rightly, can only prepare the heart to receive the light that will set the person free from darkness. It will not remove the work of darkness. That is why you see so many people under the yoke of darkness despite the multitude of their prayers.
The more they pray, the more bad things happen because they either have no ears for sound doctrines, or hear them but do not apply them to their lives. If you pray alone, but do not listen to sound doctrine with a diligent application of the same, your life will never progress significantly.
The root cause of all the problems we face in life is traceable to, “Living in darkness.”
You must be translated from the realm of darkness to the realm of light by the power of scriptural revelation, for you to have a rising life in this dark world. That brings me to the two spiritual realms every human on the face of earth lives from.
There are two basic realms every human on the face of the earth lives from spiritually; the realm of darkness called “outer darkness” and the realm of God’s light called “the Kingdom of God.”
IT IS THE SPIRITUAL THAT DETERMINES THE NATURAL.
So, where a man lives in the spirit realm is what actually determines the outcome of his life in the natural realm.
Our decisions, perceptions, visions, passions, drives, and etc., are greatly influenced either by the realm of “outer darkness,” where darkness encroach everyday into people through what they hear, see or feel, or the realm of God’s light where the glory rises upon people.
That is why you must get out of every form of spiritual darkness!
Prophetic scriptures, made it clear that the world will never get better until after the consummation of all things. Darkness will keep covering the earth and gross darkness the people until wickedness destroys itself globally.
So, if you do not get out of darkness, your life will never be free from the works of darkness. In fact, you will grow from bad to worse because you will be living from a realm where God has decreed that things should never be right.
So, in one hand, there is the need to deal with the works of darkness. In the other, there is the need to walk away from spiritual or religious darkness, especially the one people see as light.
Now, how does a man get out of darkness or deal with the works of darkness? The answer is one. By turning on the light!
One major highlight in our devotional text said;
“But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.”
The natural way to turn on the light is by switching it on, but the spiritual way is by the LORD Himself coming upon you. When the Spirit of Jesus Christ manifests Himself by coming upon you, the glory of the LORD will rest upon you.
Under the glory, things are not learnt they are caught.
So, when the glory of the LORD rest upon you, you will come into a realm of knowing; a realm of divine revelation. When you come into this realm, you walk out of darkness, because the light of God will be beaming upon your Spirit every minute, day, or week.
WHEN YOU WALK OUT OF DARKNESS, THE WORKS OF DARKNESS WILL CEASE INSTANTLY IN YOUR LIFE!
When that happens, the book of Isaiah says;
“…your light will break forth like the morning, and your healing; your restoration and the power of a new life, shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness – your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God – shall go before you – conducting you to peace and prosperity – and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
Hallelujah!!
You find that in Isaiah 58:8 when you read the amplified version, classic edition. The Bible says, “the LORD Himself will rise upon you,” and that will be the key to living a spiritual darkness free life.
As we bring this to a close, I want to submit to you that your health, finances, business, God given career, relationship, marriage or family, will no longer have a problem when you and yours move from darkness to light.
Friend, you might be moving from house to house, but until you have successfully moved from darkness to light, you will never have peace no matter where you live.
It is my prayer that God will use these words, and continue to build us up in His most holy faith, until we become all He has called us to be. Amen

For by You I can run against a troop, By my God I can leap over a wall.
As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.” Psalm 18:28-30 NKJV
