THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (THURSDAY 9TH MAY 2024)

“Then someone told David, saying, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” And David said, “O Lord, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!” 2 Samuel 15:31 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 130TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.

We give God the glory for bringing a word in season to us each and every day through this platform.

The enemy love playing with our minds, but God is ever ready to get our minds secured from the schemes of the enemy, by filling us with His word. The Bible says, let the word of the LORD dwell in you richly. That is to prevent such attacks.

When the enemy play with our minds, he plants thoughts in us that exalts themselves against the standards or values of God. When we follow those thoughts, we either end up committing sin, iniquity or trespass. We end up doing something that is below God’s standard.

God’s word is aimed at pulling down everything in us that exalts itself against the knowledge, standards, or values of GOD.

This morning we are going to travel back in time to drink from another well of truth that was dug eight years ago. It is my prayer that you will find a word in season to establish your thoughts on in Jesus precious name. Amen

WALKING IN DIVINE WISDOM.

Divine Information, revelation, and wisdom, are things you will always find in God’s Kingdom, because of the nature and central activities of the Kingdom.

Jesus is called the wisdom of God.

The Holy Spirit’s primary activity is to drive foolishness away from our hearts. Our God is called the All Wise God. There is no place for foolishness in His Kingdom.

I grew up to discover that the Bible has no kind words for foolishness, because foolishness or ignorance is the greatest tool in the hand of our enemy.

When we walk in foolishness, Satan does not need a weapon to attack us because we have already given him one to use against us.

The wisdom of men and that of the devil are dangerous, but walking in foolishness is more dangerous than they all. Though God sees these two classes of wisdom as foolishness.

The Bible define a fool as someone who refuses to listen to wisdom or learn from discipline. Meaning, if you refuse to listen to wisdom, or learn from the tough things you have been through in life, you are a fool. The Bible says,

“Though you grind a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with crushed grain, yet his foolishness will not depart from him.” Proverbs 27:22 NKJV

Many of us have been through some adversities and tough situations in life, yet we are not learning from them to make better decisions. We keep repeating our mistakes and going through adversity in circles, calling the adversity evil pattern, or evil foundation, and applying spirituality on the problem instead of walking in wisdom.

A fool uses his reasoning skills to make the wrong decision. Wrong decisions are children of foolishness.

Many of us have made wrong decisions in finances, wrong decisions in marriage, wrong decisions in who we hire or fire, wrong decisions in what we eat or watch, wrong decisions in where we live or work, wrong decisions in so many areas of our lives.

SADLY, THE DEVIL HAS USED OUR WRONG DECISIONS TO DESTROY US TERRIBLY.

The hierarchy of darkness has a history of using the wrong decisions people make to destroy them. You see that littered in human history and the Bible. For instance, Satan used the wrong decision of Samson to have relationship with Delilah to destroy and hurt him terribly.

He used the wrong decision of David to have Beersheba on his bed, to ruin David’s life. He used the wrong decision of the Generation of Noah, not to listen to God’s warnings to get them destroyed by His righteous judgment.

He is currently using your wrong decisions to either hurt, destroy, paralyze or bring you into God’s righteous judgments. His greatest weapon against us has always been the use of our God given reasoning skills to make the wrong decisions. Yes, he has been using our wrong decisions to destroy us.

I have come to discover that, Satan’s demons have not destroyed us as much as the use of our reasoning skills to make wrong decisions; as much as our foolishness has. In other words, our foolishness or the use of our reasoning skills to make the wrong decisions, has destroyed us more than Satan’s demons.

Abraham used his reasoning skills to follow the counsel of his wife to have a Child by Hagar. Satan used that to almost ruin his posterity in Bible days. History is littered with what the devil has done with that decision.

In fact, he is still using it today to attack and ruin the seed of Abraham. He is still using it to make sure that the Ishmael that was produced then and all the adversity he brought, remains with Abraham’s seed till this day.

Satan is a specialist in making sure the use of our reasoning skills to make the wrong decision ruin our lives terribly. In the days of Christ, he made sure that Judas decision to betray Jesus cost him his life and place in Heaven.

A man’s wrong decisions will always be used by the evil one to bring evil things into his life. The evil one will always make sure that none of our wrong decisions goes away without ruining us.

A PASSAGE IN THE BOOK OF PSALM READS;

“My wounds are loathsome and corrupt because of my foolishness. I am bent and bowed down greatly; I go about mourning all the day long.

“For my loins are filled with burning; and there is no soundness in my flesh.” Psalms 38:5-7 AMPC

This scripture describes the pains of someone who is under the consequences of using his or her reasoning skills to make the wrong decisions, or the consequences of personal foolishness! That is why the Bible has no kind words for foolishness.

It teaches that calling someone a fool because you hate them is a sin, but calling them a fool to provoke them to abandon their foolish ways and embrace wisdom is a requirement.

The Bible called so many people fools. Not because God hated them, but because He wants them to walk in wisdom.

It is important to note that wherever our lives are hurting, is the part that we have not been applying the wisdom that is required to. That is the part of our lives that we have been using our reasoning skills to make the wrong decisions in.

For instance, many are hurting in the area of economy, health, marriage, relationships and etc. If the required wisdom is applied, those hurts will disappear.

Some are hurting under emotional and spiritual wounds, due to all forms of personal foolishness.

Personal foolishness is indeed a killer weapon of war in the spirit. If your life is going down because of it, no amount of deliverance prayer can pull you out. You will not need a prayer center to be saved, you will need a center where God’s wisdom is taught, under the prayer mantle to be saved.

Our devotional text today made it clear that when David was in crisis, he pleaded with the LORD to turn the counsel of one of the wisest men in Israel, who was among those who conspired against him, into foolishness.

The LORD answered and that defeated the conspiracy and saved his life.

That shows how foolishness can be used by the LORD to defeat our enemies; it shows how it function as a weapon in the spirit realm. The only way out of the warfare where the enemy used our foolishness to destroy us, is to walk in wisdom.

Walking in wisdom involves using our reasoning skills to make the right decisions. I pray that the peace and mercy of the LORD carry out a surgery within us using these words as a catalyst in Jesus precious name. Amen!

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!

“For when the world with all its earthly wisdom failed to perceive and recognize and know God by means of its own philosophy, God in His wisdom was pleased through the foolishness of preaching [salvation, procured by Christ and to be had through Him], to save those who believed (who clung to and trusted in and relied on Him).” 1 Corinthians 1:21 AMPC
