TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 22ND OCTOBER 2022)
Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.
Therefore, I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 1 Corinthians 12:1-6 NKJV
WELCOME TO THE 295TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF AMAZING GRACE!
For Two Hundred and ninety-five days, we have seen God’s amazing grace and peace. It is indeed the LORD’s doing that we are alive today, and it is marvelous to our sight.
God has been speaking to us about His blessed Holy Spirit for twenty-two days now. It has been a time of great glory and spiritual progress on matters of the Holy Spirit, even as we began a fresh revelation on the second ultimate reason for the coming of the Spirit few days back.
It was uncovered to us that the second ultimate reason for the release of the Blessed Holy Spirit to our lives is to make us gods of the Almighty God. We will be going deeper into that revelation today.
To start with, its important to note that in the realm of Idolatry, there are many gods. There is the god of thunder, the god of rain, the god of fortune, the god of iron, the god of fruitfulness and etc.
There seem to be a god for anything whose mystery is unknown to man. But those of us who are saved and sanctified are gods of the Most High God and we hold superior power than these so called gods.
As gods of the Most high God, we hold kingdom keys that we can use to neutralize any other gods on the face of the earth. With our obedience, sacrifices to the purposes of our God, and dying to the flesh daily, we can bind them and stop their operation anywhere.
That is not even all, as gods of the Most High GOD, we are so superior to them that we can access spiritual realms they cannot access. We can look into what our God in Heaven have bound on earth and bind it, and can look into what He has loosed and loose. We deputized for Him.
If you are a deputy of the one and only true God, you are superior to other gods. You can smash the gods of the nations by executing the written Judgments against them. The Bible says,
“Let the saints be joyful in glory; Let them sing aloud on their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand,
To execute vengeance on the nations, And punishments on the peoples; To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron;
To execute on them the written judgment— This honor have all His saints. Praise the LORD!” Psalm 149:5-9 NKJV
It is a major assignment of the gods of the Most High God to execute His written Judgment on other gods. The reason He assign us to do that is because He is a Jealous God and His glory He will not share with another.
THE BIBLE SAYS IN MANY PLACES THAT OUR GOD IS A JEALOUS GOD.
These gods steal the worship that belongs to Him and take the pleasure He created men to give to Him.
Our job description is to (with high praises of God in our mouth and a two-edged sword in our hand), execute the written judgment on them, unleashing God’s vengeance and punishments on whatever has their seal on the face of the earth.
The mandate and assignment remain to bind their kingly control over people with the chains of the Spirit, and their so-called nobles with fetters of iron.
Sometimes, it will involve neutralizing the very human systems, governments and etc. that have become their operational bases stations on earth. That is our job description as gods of the Most High God. I call that the job of protecting God’s Jealousy. You see that in so many places in the Bible, but we are not going into that now.
There are times these fallen spirits calling themselves gods present themselves to lost souls as the ‘Most High God’ to mislead them and steal their worship. It has been happening since the world began, that is why we have idolatry.
But God positioned us here as gods of the One and only True GOD to stop that from happening. He declared in His words saying;
“I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:
That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.
I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.” Isaiah 45:5-7 NKJV
Our job description is to make these fallen devils parading themselves as gods know that there is no other God besides the one and only True God. We are to carry out divine feats that will make the men under their deception know that, from the rising of the Sun, to the going down of the same, God alone is God, and that there is no one else.
BY THAT WE ARE TO EXECUTE OUR SECOND ASSIGNMENT; WHICH IS TO SEEK AND TO SAVE THAT WHICH WAS LOST.
The details of these will be shared in our service on Sunday morning. Because many believers have not assumed their god status because of ignorance, that is why most of us are dying like mere men.
Our meditational text yesterday says;
“Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked.
They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness; All the foundations of the earth are unstable.
I said, “You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High. But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.” Psalm 82:3-7 NKJV
The key verse here is the part that says “they do not know; nor do they understand.”
Our not knowing and understanding is the reason for all the chaos we see on the face of the earth. It is the reason we walk in darkness and do not operate as gods of thr most High God.
It has like put the devils in charge, and enthroned them over hearts, thereby increasing the inhabitants of the pit of hell.
We must rise from our spiritual ignorance and become all that God called us to be. He has made His Holy Spirit available to help us in becoming gods to the Pharaohs of our generation.
That is why the number two ultimate assignment of the Holy Spirit remains to bring back our divine nature to us, and to help us operate as gods of the Most High God on the face of the earth.
One of the things the Holy Spirit will do to help us assume our spiritual status as gods of the Most High God, is to come into our lives with what we call the gifts of the Spirit.
They can also be called “Spiritual gifts.” The Bible strongly recommends that we be knowledgeable and not ignorant of them. Ignorance of them will keep us in the status of mere men despite our spirituality.
OUR DEVOTIONAL TEXT SAYS.

From this scripture, it is clear that when we begin to operate the gifts of the spirits, we can tap into dimensions of ministries in Christ, the God of gods, and unleash activities on the face of the earth as gods of the Most High God. Hallelujah!
Child of God, there is so much in this scripture that we want to admonish us with, but we pick up from here tomorrow.
Now, as we bring this to a close, know that if you are truly saved and sanctified, you are one of the gods of the Most High God on the face of the earth, and that He wants you to come into your god nature and begin to carry out activities for Him on the face of the earth.
That is why He has given us His Holy Spirit to help us.
When you assume your divine nature as a god of the Most High God, among other things, you will begin to unleash a kind of worship that will make sure that wherever you go, He GOD, remains the monarch of the Universe, and Only One to be worshiped.
You will be able to protect His glory from being stolen, shared or given to another. You will make sure that no one share His glory; you will enforce His will and make sure His glory is not given to graven images.
