THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (MONDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER 2023)

“So the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”

Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?”

He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.

So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.”

And Cain said to the Lord, “My punishment is greater than I can bear! Genesis 4:6-13 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 268TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF SIGNS AND WONDERS

Glory to the LORD God in the highest, and peace to men of good will. It was indeed a school like no other last week. The September Break Through School, on Marriage and finance was a School of deep things. I urge you to call this number quickly for all the messages. +254 718894445.

Day unto day mankind gets closer and closer to the final consummation. Many are not aware of this imminent consummation – a consummation of all things. Our personal needs consciousness, keeps blindfolding and limiting our vision from seeing what we ought to be seeing about the final moments of the earth.

Among the great prophetic truths that came, the school taught us how to get and stay married in this generation, without losing prophetic consciousness of what is lying ahead. To enhance the chance of getting and staying married to the right person, it taught us what we marry when we get married, and how to prepare for marriage in a terminal generation.

There is so much from that school that I say with all sense of humility, you cannot find anywhere else, except in the prophetic realm of Christ; the one who is a pattern for all of us.

But my heart remains saddened by our Prophetic ignorance, as an end time Church. We have become as blind as the world. We grope in spiritual darkness like the lost; exception of the religious things we do and say, there is no much difference between us and them.

For instance, we allow political winds to blow us, like it is blowing them. We do not yield to the LORD to allow the prophetic winds of the Spirit of truth to carry us where the LORD wants us to go. Consequently, suffering what they suffer, and becoming as eternally damned as them, yet calling ourselves “born again.”

But the mercies of the LORD are from everlasting to everlasting. If we will make use of them to wake up from this slumber, especially now that it is day, things will be different, because the night comes when no man can work. And that night is fast approaching! Sadly, when it finally comes, mankind will know that they have been deceived, not making Jesus Christ, and the eternal things of God, their greatest attention in this life.

THE TIME TO WAKE UP IS NOW! OUR ATTENTION SHOULD BE ON BIBLE PROPHECY MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE.

Yesterday we shared about the power and impact of divine backing and spiritual sight or vision. We discovered that it is one of the blessings that God’s Mercy places on subjects of His mercy. Today the LORD will be taking us a step further.

First of all, I want you to understand that God’s Mercy is a Seed! You may not agree with me but god’s mercy is more of a seed than a need. If Cain had known that God’s Mercy is a seed, he will have made a good use of it and raise a seed of righteousness on the face of the earth instead of the seed he raised.

Many do not know that the people God regretted creating in Genesis Chapter 6 were offspring of Cain. If their ancestor Cain had made use of God’s mercy when it was available to him, they would have escaped God’s judgment.

God’s mercy is a seed and also a need, but you will make use of it much more, if you see it as a seed. Even the offspring of Cain that were caught up in the judgment of the flood of Noah received a deposit of God’s Mercy. But because they did not see it as a seed, they could not make use of it.

In fact, they did not even see it as a need. Consequently, none of them made use of it to escape the judgment.

In the same way, many of us are not seeing God’s mercy today as a need in our lives, hence not taking the proper steps to amend our ways. It is when you see God’s mercy as a need in your life, that you will also see it as a seed. As a need, it helps us to escape judgment and the perils of living in a fallen world. And as a seed, it tells us what God expects from us when He show us mercy. So, if you do not see God’s mercy as a seed, you will never be saved from what GOD sent it to save you from.

At this point, let’s back track a little and look at the life of Cain again. Our devotional text presents the story of a man who sinned against God by violating offering principles but never cared to ask for mercy because He thought God did not love him. Like most in our generation, He never knew how God express His love for His own, hence treating the correction he got from Him as hate.

IT IS FOOLISH TO TREAT REBUKES AND CORRECTION AS AN EXPRESSION OF HATE AND BITTERNESS.

Rebukes and corrections are expressions of Love and deep concern. It is only when the enemy has given you a baptism of foolishness that you treat them as expression of hate and bitterness, like Cain did. When God rejected his offerings, it was an act of mercy. But the baptism of foolishness from the evil one did not let him see it that way.

You may receive any kind of Baptism in life, please do not receive a baptism of foolishness from the enemy.

Sadly, so many in our generation have been baptized with foolishness; even apostles, prophets, pastors and whole mega churches. That is why they call Biblical rebukes and corrections, expression of bitterness and hate by those God may be using to rebuke and correct them.

For instance, so many in Kenya and other parts of the world that God is using us to cover with the apostolic grace and truth, for example, think I am driven by hate, bitterness, or even jealousy, when I bring a corrective word to the body of Christ in Kenya. It is really sad. It is a terrible sign that there is a great baptism of foolishness in the church today, courtesy of some of the dark men and women of God, and heretic folks.

Cain foolishly treated God’s rebuke and correction; the rejection of his offerings, as an expression of hate. As we will see later, he never ended well! Talking about the rejection of offerings, there are people who will give an offering in Church and God will reject it, and they will not even know. They will not know because they are not connected to the Spirit of Truth.

BUT THEIR PASTORS WILL ACCEPT IT WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING THAT GOD HAS REJECT IT.

God was so merciful on Cain, and even told him why His offering was rejected. His vision was for Cain to learn from Abel, but instead he hated Abel, just as many Preachers and their members in Kenya hate us. They were supposed to learn from what we teach, but the baptism of foolishness will not let them. Few are even becoming hypocrite, copying pasting what we are teaching, but still saying evil about us.

For instance, you will be shocked at how the just concluded teaching on marriage on our YouTube channel, will be copy pasted by the same people in their preaching, and they will claim God revealed it to them. It is just a matter of time. It is a combination of hypocrisy and wickedness of heart. It is really sad!

Instead of making use of God’s mercy, Cain would move further into sin. He would finally kill Abel, his brother, who God gave him to keep. The Bible says, Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?”

He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.

I have said it again and again; if you are not your brother’s keeper, one day you will be your brother’s killer! A generation that do not make use of God’s mercy, will hate those God is using to express His mercies to them through warnings, corrections, and rebukes.

They will move from sin to sin, and from wickedness to wickedness, and sometimes it will be doing so on its knees, asking God for mercy and forgiveness. They will operate the principle of seeking forgiveness from God, without repenting from their sins.

When Cain was chastised by the LORD with a rejection of His offering, he did not make use of God’s mercy that manifested as a divine rebuke, and correct his ways. He rather went ahead to kill his brother, and the blood of his brother began to cry against him from the ground.

When mercy came again to reveal to him the consequences of his sins, his response became more terrible.

He again did not make use of it to repent, but rather did what many of us do! He said to God, “My punishment is greater than I can bear!” In other words, he was saying to GOD “I deserve mercy irrespective of what I may have done!” That is the worst way to relate to GOD.

We do not deserve mercy from God, if there is no repentance from sin and wickedness on our part! That is why many are in hell, and many more are on their way there, which is very sad. Like earlier shared, Cain’s offspring will later grow up destroying all moral principles and filling the heart of GOD with so much pain, consequently bringing about the first global judgment on sin and wickedness.

MERCY IS A SEED NOT JUST A NEED!

If GOD sow it into our lives, and we do not allow a harvest of repentance to spring up from us, we will never escape what GOD seeded it into our lives to save us from.

Sometimes God will seed mercy into our lives to save us from earthly perils like premature death, natural disasters, demonic attacks, lack or poverty, sudden destructions, unknown enemies, sicknesses or diseases. Other times He will seed it into our lives to save us from eternal perils like eternal judgment – an eternal life in hell fire. If we do not respond to it properly, we will be doomed by whatever He seeded His mercies in our lives to save us from.

Let me reiterate again that if God “seed” mercy into our lives, and we do not allow a harvest of repentance from sin and wickedness to spring up from us, we will not escape what He seeded that mercy into our lives to save us from.

Finally, I want to let us know that we are in the days of God’s mercy – that is as many of us that are alive. Very soon the curtain of time will close on each and every one of us, and mercy will be over.

We will come face to face with GOD to answer before HIM. But today is the day of Salvation; today is the day of making use of God’s mercies to turn from our wicked ways.

It’s my prayer that GOD will use this devotional to take us further in our faith, and individually show us more things about His mercy as a seed and as a need, so that we can allow it to bring forth the required harvest in our lives! Amen.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR YOU TODAY!

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” 2 Peter 3:8-13 NKJV
