THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 3RD FEBRUARY 2024)

“If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you, let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth — if I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy.” Psalms 137:5-6 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 34TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.

Glory be to the Most High God for granting us another month; today is the 3rd day. We sailed through January feeding on the power of His faithfulness.

It was a peaceful and graceful month. There was no adversary or evil occurrence. God’s mercy kept us! We believe that was a template of the peace we will enjoy this year.

You see, our God is different! Even when we are faithless or unfaithful, He remains faithful. The vision is not to keep us faithless or unfaithful, but to rescue us from our sorry state of faithlessness or unfaithfulness.

That is why the Bible says if we deny Him, He will not deny Himself.

He remains faithful because He will not deny Himself. It’s a new month and we believe the faithfulness of God will help us to be faithful.

Now, to the word for today! There was a river of truth God opened for us last month. It was a current of life on destiny matters.

Specifically, the river of life giving and faith building truth was on the things that our destinies will need to be fulfilled. That was the flow that opened up this month for us, with a revelation of two other things our destinies will need to be fulfill.

Today, we will be looking at another. I hope we are ready!!

Now, we have said this repeatedly, that matters of divine destiny are the only matters that can make A HEAVENLY COUNCIL to sit.

The first time the council of Heaven sat over an issue, as documented in scriptures, was after the creation of the heaven and earth.

The Bible says when it was time to create man, the council sat and said;

…”Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 NKJV

THE PHRASE “LET US” REVEALS A LOT. IT POINTS OUT THE EXISTENCE OF A COUNCIL OF GOD IN HEAVEN.

That was the council that sat to create man.

The Bible made it clear that, Man’s creation, was motivated by a pre-determined plan of God to replace Lucifer with someone who will function in His image and likeness; especially in God’s worship system. Man became that person.

The day man was created, our corporate destiny as God’s creation was predetermined. The council sat because of that. In simple terms, destiny matters made the council to sit. That is a revelation.

It means the council of Heaven does not sit when we need money, health, freedom, or victory in warfare.

God gives us all we need during those moments without getting the Heavenly council together. But when matters of our destiny comes to the front burner, the council sits. That is why you find Heaven standing on the feet for People who desire to serve their generation according to the will of GOD.

Why is this revelation important? It is important because many do not know what Heaven prioritize most, hence missing out with God, and having their expectations built on things God does not even prioritize.

Friend, understand that no matter what you may be going through, if the fulfilment of your divine destiny is not at the centre of it all, it will never make God’s council to sit on your case.

Even when you need an urgent blessing, God would first harmonize your ways with His ways, and make your divine destiny driven, before He can bless you.

The Heart of God beats after men and women whose hearts are beating after the release of their divine destiny. If you want God to set His eyes permanently on you, do not raise an altar, give a sacrifice, or go to mountains to pray.

Just locate what God created you for, and begin to spend the rest of your life pursuing it.

There is a generation that Heaven is watching over; it is not the generation of prayer warriors.

It is not even the generation of preachers. It is the generation of those who are mindful of their divine destiny and are busy with how to fulfil it.

This people enjoy a special grace of divine attention.

BEFORE THEY CALL, GOD ANSWERS, AND WHILE THEY ARE STILL SPEAKING, GOD HEARS.

In the devotionals of last month, God highlighted to us that living a life of repentance is one major ingredient our destiny will need to be fulfilled.

We discovered that Secrets sins can be very dangerous to people who are pregnant with prophecies; people heavily pregnant with the revelation of things God pre-planned them to accomplish on earth.

I have come to discover that every Child of destiny who could not finish the race God set for him or her, disappointed destiny because of either a secret sin, or something close to it.

Sin has a way of not forgiving us even after God has forgiven us, and it is a mystery to many who downplay matters of sin.

Can you imagine Samson in Judges Chapter 16? God forgave him and restored back his hair, but sin did not forgive him. His ministry abruptly came to an end. Though he finished strong, but he died a blind and frustrated warrior!

Sin will make it impossible for people of destiny to end well. That is why a life of repentance is critical in our quest to unleash our destinies. But today we are going a step further.

The next thing that our destiny will need to be fulfilled is swift response.

Some time ago, I was ministering in one of our schools of the Spirit sessions, and the LORD showed me someone who will soon come under the gates of death and even die if he did not respond to his destiny.

The LORD showed me that there has been an un-necessary delay in the way he was handling the call of God, and have been making very bad decisions that will cost him his life.

In panic, I called him and tried to bring him into what God has called him to do. The rest as they say is history. I learned a lesson that season. I learned that, if we do not add swift response to our divine destiny, it will never be fulfilled.

There is what we call in the prophetic “the swiftness of an eagle.” If you do not have that as a Child of God, you will never step into destiny, consequently, becoming a prey of spiritual predators like premature death.

Our devotional text was an expression David passionately made in one of those spiritual sessions of his life.

A major highlight in it says;

“If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you, let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth.”

JERUSALEM WAS THE PLACE OF KING DAVID’S DIVINE DESTINY.

His ultimate assignment was not actually to become king, but to locate where the temple was appointed to be built before the ages began. Becoming King was an empowerment for him to fulfil the assignment.

He did that very well. He located and built Jerusalem – a major project that was part of his divine destiny; and as you can see in the devotional text, he attached his joy, skill, and power of speech to his response to divine destiny.

That means swift response to divine destiny has a way of bringing significance and increase to us. It has a way of protecting us in ways we may not understand.

That is why it’s not safe to spend one moment of your life outside the things God may have assigned you to do on the face of the earth.

From the stories of some of the Bible men that I have read, I came to learn that, unpleasant things and all forms of evil, only become our companion if we are not responding to why God created us.

They become our lot if our disobedience is hindering souls from being saved.

Yes, if your disobedience is hindering souls from being saved, you will never live a blessed life on earth.

You may have a fruitful relationship with God, be spending countless hours with Jesus Christ, behaving yourself wisely like David, and not plagued with the love of money or secret sins, but if you are not swift in your response to divine calls, you will lose the results of all your sacrifices and bring the terrible upon your life.

The release of our divine destiny, or pursuit of our God given assignment on earth, ought to form the center of our lives, and swift response ought to be the standard.

No laziness or procrastination.

For instance, when God asked Isaiah, “whom shall I send, whom will go for us?” He responded immediately and swiftly, “here am I, send me.” That is the standard. There was no laziness or whatever in Isaiah’s response. That is how God want us to be responding to Him.

He wants us to follow the swiftness of the eagle in the release of our destinies, nothing else. But it will require paying a great attention to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, with a heart that is ready to respond to Him swiftly. That is the word of the LORD.

Child of God, when it comes to matters of divine destiny, we are either slothful or swift. There is no middle ground. God therefore sent this message so that we can conquer any form of slothfulness, become swift and begin to redeem the time. Amen!!

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY;

Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:14-17 NKJV
