THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (SATURDAY 20TH APRIL 2024)

Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the Lord, and spoke, saying: “I will sing to the Lord, For He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!

“The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.”

“The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name.” Exodus 15:1-3 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 111TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF IMPACT.

Sometimes when you take a look at what the enemy is doing in the lives of men, you begin to wonder where God is. But God can easily reach out to help if man cooperates with Him.

My spiritual father said, the supernatural needs a human agency to show up. Worship is what positions that human agency. In other words, where our worship or submission lies, is what determines the swiftness or otherwise of God’s move to help us in a given situation!

One of the major titles of God is the title of MAN OF WAR. The Bible says, “The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name.”

It does not add up when we serve a Man of War and yet there is no peace in our lives. It does not add up when we serve a Man of war and return from spiritual battle with counter attacks on our lives.

No one serves the man of war and not have peace in their lives.

In fact, one major hallmarks of serving the LORD is the peace He gives His own. When we serve Him in spirit and in truth, and rest our worship on Him, there is no end to what He will do in our lives.

To serve Him in spirit, you must be baptized in the Holy Ghost. To serve Him in truth, you must become a student of scriptural truths. The Bible is clear on the need for true worshipers. True worshipers will worship God in Spirit and in Truth.

The primary role of the Church, among other things, is to raise true worshipers. It is not to raise skilled singers, but true worshipers. Worship is not singing but living.

Satan fears people who know and live a life of worship not those who just limit worship to singing.

Whenever true worship is found, there will be the release of God’s glory. True worship and God’s glory lives together. The reason the glory of the LORD can cover the earth as the waters covers the seas lies in true worship.

That is why we are first to be worshipers before preachers, we are to be worshipers before apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors, or teachers. We should never step into any of the kingdom assignments, no matter the authenticity of the call without first being true worshipers.

WE MIGHT BECOME CHARLATANS OR PART OF THE BREED OF FALSEHOOD IN CHURCH IF WE DO SO.

One thing the devil does to stop a work that is pulling men from the fires of hell, is to sway those who should be true worshippers in that work, to do something else with their faith. Once that happens, it’s either the work will end, or it continues in a no glory state.

It is part of the warfare Satan musters against us! He knows what power we will generate if we become true worshipers, especially in a work that God is doing, hence waging war against that level of faith.

But the good news about any spiritual warfare is, God’s people do not fight from a place of defeat, we fight from the place of victory. He will not therefore, overcome us.

In spiritual warfare, we do not try to initiate a fresh thing on the face of the earth; we do not even try anything. We unleash already established victories from the Spirit realm into the natural, under the command of the Holy Spirit. That is why, we do not fail.

Always remember that God finishes before He starts. He will finish a thing in Heaven before coming to ask you to start it here on earth. He will finish a fight in the spirit realm, grant you the victory before asking you to start the fight in the natural realm.

I believe even in matters of true worship, we already have the victory. The only thing we need to do is to stand in faith and unleash it into our lives. If we do, no matter what the devil does, God’s help in making us true worshipers will successfully make true worshipers.

He will fill us with the power, truth, and Spirit, to be able to worship in Spirit and in truth.

His truth will purge us and take away everything that will not let us be true worshipers. His Spirit will act on His truth in our hearts, and make us obedient to the faith, because true worship has implicit obedience in it.

It is a product of dying daily, and living for the LORD instead of for ourselves. That is why it has glory as its reward. Yes, a life of God’s glory is a result or reward of living a life of true worship.

THAT IS WHY, IF YOU SEE ANY LIFE THAT IS FILLED OR COVER BY GOD’S GLORY, JUST KNOW THAT THERE IS TRUE WORSHIP IN IT.

In God’s Kingdom, nothing just happens. It means the person has become sold out to God’s ways, and have found a peg in His holy place. His or her life has become a rhythm of worship on earth.

When a man’s life becomes a rhythm of worship, the LORD will become the person’s strength and song. He will become a personal God to him, and a man of war. The LORD will become the person’s all in all.

A major highlight in our devotional text this morning says;

“The Lord is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation; He is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him. The Lord is a man of war; the Lord is His name.”

What an amazing set of words. True worship makes the LORD a man’s strength and song. It makes the LORD a man’s salvation and personal God. It makes Him a man of war in a man’s life.

When the LORD becomes a man of war in your life, there will be no weapon formed against you that can prosper. If the enemy comes against you in one way, he will flee in seven ways. You will be blessed in the City and blessed in the country. You will be blessed in your going out and your coming in.

You will find Him blessing those who bless you, and cursing those who curse you. You will find Him becoming an answer to all the Balaam’s, and Pharaohs figures, and etc. in your life. He will become your strength in battle, and song of deliverance. Hallelujah!!

One man you find the LORD manifesting as strength in battle in his life, and song of deliverance, was David. That was why he was able to bring down the giant, survived all the onslaught of Saul, become king over Israel, and lived his days having a table in the presence of his enemies.

You are the next to have this testimony!! You are the next to see the LORD as your man of war. You are the next to see Him as your strength in battle, and song of deliverance. You are the next to see His glory in your life.

MAKE THIS SCRIPTURE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!!

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”

“And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.” Jude 20-23 NKJV
