THE CRY OF THE SPIRIT DEVOTIONALS – BY RICHARD E. S. TAKIM

TODAY’S DEVOTION (SUNDAY 4TH SEPTEMBER 2022)

“For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, But water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11 NKJV

WELCOME TO THE 247TH DAY OF OUR YEAR OF AMAZING GRACE!

Today is the 247th day that we will be welcomed by the enabling grace of the LORD to a fresh day, since the year started. It has indeed not been by might nor by power but by the Spirit of the LORD.

Everyday that we start and ends, testifies to what the word said. The word said, it is not of him who wills or of him who runs but of God who shows mercies. Indeed, it is the mercies of the LORD that has kept us!

When He said in His word;

“Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; Neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; For you will forget the shame of your youth, and will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore.

For your Maker is your husband, The LORD of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth.” Isaiah 54:4-5 NKJV

He meant every of the word and we have seen each word come to pass in our lives.

Indeed, our God is not a talkative. Our God is intentional and purposeful when He speaks. His words are the only words on earth that are messengers by themselves. Most times do not need men to serve as their envoys. When God speak them, they go out to accomplish what He please.

So, when He said “do not fear, for you will not be ashamed, neither be disgraced” it is important that you believe Him.

A word like that is sent to deal with anything or anyone who is sent from hell to disgrace you, or fill your life with shame. It is a messenger on its own, not just a message. It does not need anyone to convey it to God’s target in our lives.

IN FACT, IF GOD WERE TO INVOLVE PEOPLE, THEY WILL NOT EVEN KNOW WHO HIS TARGET IS.

That is why words like that are designed to carry themselves to the very place and people God intends them to get to for our good. They are gathered by the Spirit of God and directed to their targets. They do not lack their mate in fulfilment or performance. The Bible says;

“Seek out of the book of the Lord and read: not one of these [details of prophecy] shall fail, none shall want and lack her mate [in fulfillment]. For the mouth [of the Lord] has commanded, and His Spirit has gathered them.” Isaiah 34:16 AMPC

Do you see something beautiful in this scripture?

Though thieves behind many pulpits have twisted it to mean marriage mate, but it has nothing to do with that. It has to do with the capacity of the prophetic details God sent to accomplish a divine task to fulfill itself, because of the Spirit that gathers it and make sure each detail is fulfilled.

Sometimes one wonder why the lives of many believers are filled with reproach while there is so much in the kingdom waiting to fulfill itself in their lives. Many fast so much and get very little or no results, that is despite the promises from GOD that covers every detail of our lives; most of which are sovereign, making them self-fulfilling.

Speaking about these precious promises, the Bible says;

“By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption) that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the divine nature.” 1 Peter 1:4 AMPC

Can you see the power of the precious promises we are sharing about? The Bible says they have been bestowed on us. To bestow means to give as an honor or present.

YES, THERE ARE PRECIOUS AND EXCEEDINGLY GREAT PROMISES IN GOD’S KINGDOM THAT HAVE BEEN GIVEN TO US AS AN HONOR OR PRESENT.

The intent is for us to escape the moral decay, rottenness and corruption that is in this world. This means, the manifestation of the promises is very powerful; yes, so powerful that we can by them escape the moral decay that is in this world.

Now, we do not need to sow any seed or do anything to see the promises fulfilled in our lives. We only need to come to the realm where their fulfilment is possible. Which brings us to the prophetic purpose of our 30-day journey of faith.

We have been looking at the Cry of the Spirit on Biblical fasting. Any fasting that is not Bible based will be fruitless or even demonic. That is why many of the fast you see in Church today do not unlock the glory that our fathers unlocked even when the blood had not been shed.

Can you imagine that Joshua fasted only for 24 hours and got victory for many months after that? But we fast for 40 days, every now and then, and see little or no victory. In fact, there are people who have fasted much more than they have eaten in life, yet they are backward in life. They are so backward that you think they are the only people that hell considers for attacks.

If fasting is not Biblical, it will get your life fastened to seasonal afflictions. Biblical fasting is revolutionary. I can testify of that. You cannot be fasting the way God designed it and not see the performance of His promises break out in your life. There will be no word that will be hanging except the one whose time has not come for it to be performed.

One thing I have found in my life as a Christian about Biblical fasting is that it has an inherit ability to bring one to the place where the word of the LORD perform itself in one’s life. This may be strange or new to you, but there is a place in the Spirit where the word begins to fulfill itself in our lives like the rod of Aaron that budded.

That is the place the devil fears the most. Because when we get there anything about him ceases. All his accusations ceases. All his legal rights are withdrawn and neutralized.

A template of what will be happening in our life is seen in the fruitless attempts of Balaam to curse Israel.

THE DIVINE RESPONSE THAT CAME TO STOP HIM, MADE THE MAN THE BIBLE CALLS MAD PROPHET, TO SAY;

“He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, nor has He seen wickedness in Israel. The LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a King is among them. God brings them out of Egypt; He has strength like a wild ox.

“For there is no sorcery against Jacob, Nor any divination against Israel. It now must be said of Jacob and of Israel, Oh, what God has done!’

Look, a people rises like a lioness, and lifts itself up like a lion; It shall not lie down until it devours the prey, and drinks the blood of the slain.” Numbers 23:21-24 NKJV

In this scripture we can see the template of what will be happening in our lives when we get to the place where the divine promises bestowed upon us can begin to fulfill themselves in our lives.

The Bible says GOD will not observe Iniquity in us, or see wickedness. His shout will be among us. The shout is called the shout of a king.

The shout of a King, among other things, captures the totality of the manifestation of the precious and great promises of God.

With the manifestation of the promises captured or the shout of a King, there will be no sorcery that can work against us. There will be no divination that will work in our lives. The word of the LORD will be manifesting in our life and the word of our enemies defeated.

You see, the word of the LORD cannot be manifesting in our lives and the word of our enemies manifesting also. The lesser power must bow to the higher power.

Yes, the word of God’s promise cannot be fulfilled in my life and the expectations of the wicked also fulfilled at the same time. Things do not work that way.

The fulfillment of the promises of the LORD in our lives shuts the door to the fulfilment of what the enemy intends for us. And Biblical fasting is one of the kingdom forces that can bring us there.

IN LUKE CHAPTER 4, JESUS USED THE POWER OF BIBLICAL FASTING TO COME TO THE PLACE WHERE ISAIAH WAS FULFILLED IN HIS LIFE AS THE MESSIAH.

The disciples use Biblical fasting to come into the realm where Joel 2 was fulfilled in their lives. Paul use Biblical fasting to come to the place where God’s word of protection for His servants was fulfilled in his life. So much about your life will become colorful and glorious if you come to the realm where the word is fulfilled in the lives of blessed people.

In the place where the word is fulfilled, the word falls upon lives like rain. It does not turn to flood and flow away like natural rain does. It turns to liquid-word and sink into the foundations of our lives. It waters us from the river of GOD and make our lives bring forth the manifestation of God’s promises.

When our lives begin to bring forth, it will not lack word seeds to sow for the purpose of bringing in bountiful harvest. We will begin to have a systematic breakthrough life that is full of word seed for sowing, and bread of provision for eating.

Our devotional text put it this way;

I believe you have found something to build your faith on.

The Christian life will become crisis ridden if there is no word of divine promises that is being fulfilled in it. We are a people of prophecy. If God’s precious promises are held back in our lives, even the sword of our enemies will rejoice over it. It is the fulfilment of His precious promises that makes our lives on earth meaningful.

However, for the word of God’s precious promises to be fulfilled in our lives, we must use the power of Biblical fasting to transition to that point. We must not be lazy.

LET THIS SCRIPTURE BE AN ADDITIONAL MEDITATION FOR THE DAY!

“Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside.

He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him. He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read,

and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him.

He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” Luke 4:14-20 NKJV
